God every time I have to play as Ciri I sigh, this isn't fun playing as her. I really hope there is not another Witcher game where she is the main character. I really dislike how people lust over a virtual character blinds them from seeing how much of a Mary Sue (and her gameplay is BORING).

I disagree. The Ciri parts are some of my favorites.

Holy shit guys, this game has shooting stars. Stare at the night sky for a few minutes and you're bound to see one. The attention to detail here is just mind blowing...

In other news, I have no idea when I will end this game. Just as I started thinking I am approaching the end of Novigrad a bunch of new quests popped out. This is probably the best value-for-money purchase I have made in a very long time.

I feel like trying to stick to the recommended level when dealing with quests is a sound thing to do, both story and side. I don't think I've failed a quest yet.

The writing in this game keeps on delivering in ways I don't expect. Like so many of the Witcher Contracts in
Novigrad
being nothing more than an extension of the city's racism and xenophobia.

I have it but they don't go over every possible sidequest. Just plot important ones. So for stuff like gangs of novigrad they mention how to fully get it complete but it isn't necessary to advance the plot.

Does the guide give you an order in regards to when you should do the main story and side quests so none of the objectives are missed?

I'm really pissed because that objective was never shown until right before I was supposed to do it and it went straight to a "red x". :(

Hi guys, love the new OP. quick question.

So, i want to enter the high stakes gwent tournament but, even though i've done the gwent innkeepers, and high roller quests, it's says i need to beat 5 people. (i've already beaten 3)
but i don't know where the other two are, and it doesn't say. do any of you guys know. ?

Is it because i'm really under-leveled. (i'm lvl 14, and the quest is 23, i think.)

I 100% agree.

It gives you an optimal order to do main and side quests yes. But once again plot important ones.

Gwent Big City players, Tavern Keep at Seven Cats Inn and the female Blacksmith at Crow's Perch are good candidates to beat for that.

Yea really didn't like the Ciri segments. The combat was pretty drab, and I don't care for the whole chosen one nonsense.

Agreed. The dialogue is incredible. This game continues to impress.

I just did

With how many woman can you have sex with? Is probably a better question
Lol the thirst is real

(Total amount of sex opportunities spoilers)
Keira, Triss, Yen, some gwent lady, some girl in a quest in the islands, and as many of the workers in the two sexy bars of novingrad as you want as many times

Yeah, I noticed that too. It's an interesting contrast to
Velen's
contracts where monsters are constantly destroying life for the locals who are barely making ends meet as it is.

I've decided to finally play Witcher 1, replay 2 and replay 3 once I'm done with my current playthrough. Also gonna read the books. So much stuff I don't remember, even from Witcher 2, really want to freshen up.

Game of all time!

Thank god. I refuse to learn a fictional card game. I have a child and a job goddamit
I've got good news and bad news for you: it's actually a "real" card game.

Everyone hyping up Gwent so much. What's so good about it?

I hate card games but will give it a try if it's fun
Superficially, it's a very simple game where you put cards down to make your strength total greater than your opponent's. There are, however, many cards that have special abilities that can combo together to make your deck really shine and really play into the metagame. The metagame is actually about card management where your objective is to force your opponent to use more cards than you because, when you run out of cards, you're probably going to lose. You can do this in a number of ways: bait your opponent to lay down high value cards by putting down one of your own but then use a Decoy card to draw it back into your hand to sacrifice the round or use a medic in the next round to bring that high card back; delay your own use of valuable cards and force the opponent to either play a card or pass early by futzing around with Decoys, spies (which let you draw more cards), or weather cards that you don't think you'll need; bait in early rounds with high value cards so the opponent wastes a bunch then, in the final round, play your medic to bring one back, Decoy the medic, and then play the medic again to bring another high value card back. And that's just my experience with the Northern Realms. I fought a Monster deck where it seems to be focussed on having a huge deck of monsters that can all be summoned with one card to just overwhelm.

Here are two videos where I have some limited commentary on my thought process while beating the Bloody Baron on my first try as well as that monster deck, both in Velen. Basically, make the opponent feel that they either need to play more cards when they don't have to or make them feel secure enough to pass early so that you can easily match them that round:

I'd be in the dick
Ciri cutscenes are awesome
Ciri gameplay is terrible
I think she's fun to play as. The design of her quests is are the worst in the game though. Barely five minutes long and just brief combat and a short walk. I like her personality a lot. Good character.

So I'm picking up contracts off notice boards but nothing is popping and quests aren't showing up. I see the notes in my inventory though. Am I fucked?

Was the notice board yellow on the map? If it's white, there's nothing new but for some reason notes regenerate on there but if it's yellow, there's new stuff and you should either get new quests, new markers revealed, or both.
