In other news, I have no idea when I will end this game. Just as I started thinking I am approaching the end of Novigrad a bunch of new quests popped out. This is probably the best value-for-money purchase I have made in a very long time.

I wish more devs would do this, especially concerning GamerGate threads.

After about 34 hours spent in White Orchard and Velen, I have finally ventured in to Novigrad
to meet up with Triss
.

Coolest city I have ever been to in a videogame. For sure. I am in love with this game.

You mean not speak to you? I have noticed it as well, at certain times of the day he doesn't speak.

It's strange, I feel like he was involved in a quest at some point and thought I'd upset him. I never seem to be able to speak to him, apparently he sells the maps for some of the armour so it's annoying me.

Ok, so there is definitely a huge bug here.
I looked up a walkthrough, and the broken flowers quest is supposed to gives us 800 experience points... And I got 0. Nothing for finishing it.
Haven't gained any experience from finishing a quest for hours now...

I really don't know what I can do right now.

For those who have beat the game.

Just cured Uma and Geralt is going to find allies to help fight The Wild Hunt. How much is left in the main quest line?

A little over half I would say depeding on how many side quests you have done to prep.

So, I just returned to
Kaer Morhen and killed the Forktail...

Appreciation for the game as a technical achievement rose 100%. Just looking over everything... It's flippin' amazing to look at.

I just got to Skellige and my god is it huge. I found the captain of the ship and got back the 1000 crowns I had to pay him.

Also, I really don't get how the recommended levels jump up and down so with story quests. 2 first quests you get in Skellige are level 16, and then the 3rd is level 13?
Why does the blacksmith in Blackbough not speak to me? Anyone else have this
Sometimes he just does that. Meditate for an hour to see if it changes.

More gushing on the writing in this game- the conversation between Geralt and Triss (very early Novigrad spoiler)
while waiting for the ratchasing magic to kick in
was the most honest and real relationship discussion I've ever seen in a game.

Totally agree with this. I actually felt something about a video game romance. Like, what?? I thought it was because I had just played Witcher 2. This game delivers on so many levels.

Just finished the Of Swords and Dumplings quest.

It was way too long to my liking, lots of fetching stuff, going back and forth. But I went through it because I was promised a legendary sword in the end. I was sure it would be worth it, because the advised level for this quest was 24.

Result : Level 14 sword with barely any perks and a single rune slot.

sorry for the extremely newb questions but this game is kinda vague about it

i just met triss.

who is fighting in the war? nillfgarden vs ??.. who are the leaders of each side?

who is radovid?

temeria used to be in the area where nillfgarrden is but i guess they lost the war?

heh, thanks.

Combat as Geralt against a group of wolves or drowners is ok. Combat as Ciri against a group of wolves is painful.

It has essentially boiled down to Nilfgaard in the South (ruler: Emhyr var Emreis) vs Redania in the north (ruler: Radovid).

Nilfgaard vs the Northern Kingdoms....but mainly Redania. it's explained in Vizema that When Nilfgaard invaded, Kaedwen and Redania were the dominant powers in the north, but still very weak compared to the empire. Instead of teaming up to attack the black ones, Radovid had Redania attack Kaedwen at the same time and conquered them. So instead of fighting 2 weak enemies, Nilfgaard must fight a single strong one.

Nilfgaard vs Redania. Emperor Emhyr is the leader of Nilfgaard. Radovid is Redania's king. It's technically Nilfgaard against the Northern kingdoms, but Redania is the only major power left.

In general: Niifl versus the northern kingdoms. The whole second Witcher game was a preparation for the incasion with the assassinations of the kings throwing the north into chaos.

Radovid is the king of Redonia, the land above former Temeria. And well now also king of formerly Kaedwen, east of Redonia. And yes, Foltest, king of Temeria died in the second game thus leaving the kingdom to the lords foghting for power. The temerian army stood no chance against the numerous and prepared Niilfs.

Niilf is waiting currently tho. The war is longer than they expected and Radovid taking Kaedwen and it's army put them into a really uncomfortable position. So basically it's Niifl empire vs Redonia.

Kotaku article on all the sex scenes. Of course the author gets blasted as a prude because she's a woman.

Worth noting that, as much as I'm a sucker for Geralt and Triss, the short-lived romance between
Skjall and Ciri
is a fantastic example of how CDPR can do this sort of thing subtly as well.

I strongly suggest that people go down that path when it's presented to them. The late game payoff is very heartwarming.
