Dunno if you beat Jenny already, but stay away from the summons, you don't need to kill them. If you roll away far enough the clones will disappear and she will be left with the same health.

Haven't beat her yet, thanks for the tip. I'm alt-tabbed out with the game still going.

I've now fought her 27 times in a row and I've never got her past the first notch in her health bar. Ugh.

I wish this was Skyrim so I could just bring up the console turn on God mode and be done with this bullshit fight.

I initially had a tough time finding them, but there were some merchants who sold them after meditating a few days. Their stocks supposedly reset.
Thanks!

Think I'll meditate for a few days in Novigrad and see what the merchants come up with.

Does anyone's Geralt glow in the dark ? Is it normal ? It seems like whenever it's dark some kind of white light comes from Geralt and it's annoying, ruining the lighting and mood.

Are you using Yrden?

Edit: Just saw your post from the last page. Still make sure to only attack her when she's affected by it.

Those with the GOG version, it doesnt seem to track time played unless the GOG Galaxy program is running, as in it has to be open and not just sitting in the background. Really annoying, because it says ive only played 11 hours but I know I've easily hit 40 if not 50 by now. Is there other ways of tracking time played?

I only used quen and yrden, oil and thunderbolt. Get a few hits in, roll or dodge away. When clones show up, roll back until they're gone, then quen yourself again and let yrden charge while you walk towards her again.

Just throw moon dust bomb at her. It prevents her from turning into clones and you can whack her when she's stunned by the blast.

Yes, some quests become unavailable due to progression in the story.

The mission failed sound is terrifying.
I'm glad I found this out before I progressed in the story.

My only complaint with the game so far is that I'm leveling too quickly and I'm too high for half of the side quests.

been trying for a couple pages now to get an answer...

are there any negative repurcussions for finding and
looting a guarded treasure
before finding a letter or anything that's supposed to lead you there?

Thank god. I refuse to learn a fictional card game. I have a child and a job goddamit

Now I'm curious, what is your definition of the word "fictional"? What's the difference between a fictional card game and a real one?

And anyway, Gwent only takes a few minutes to learn. Who knows, if you change your attitude, you might even have fun?

27 times? Might've missed something but we're talking about Jenny here, in White Orchard, yes? I defeated her in my first try, don't even think I lost any health. Dropping Yrden when you're at safe distance, waiting for her to spawn next to you and then just doing fast attacks will do the trick. If you got potions: good. If not; they're not a necessity. If it's still too hard, do some other stuff and come back when you're higher level and have better gear! No shame in coming back later.

ok..thanks...found one earlier but wanted to make sure

In fact, even quests are aware of when you do things out of order. Like for a contract you could just stumble upon a step of the quest early and then later find the person that gives the quest and Geralt will acknowledge he's already been there/done that.

Hit lvl 14 and got myself full feline set, feeling quite overpowered now. Gonna just bump the difficulty up a notch and see what it's like then.

Been doing quests in Novigrad and slaughtering far too many people for my liking. Wish there were more options to resolve conflicts peacefully... or just Axii my way out of things without abandoning the quest.

what am I supposed to do in the mine for the Contract:Missing Brother quest?

Take my advice and just skip it. Return to it much later in the game.

Loot away with impunity, good sir.

lol..I did...but I did make a different save before doing anything to be on the safe side

95% certain that im done with this game. Not all of what's blocked is a spoiler and it's only in regards to White Orchard but also a certain problem that I hate with the game in general.

Why did CDPR make the game where characters can die for side quests to where you can't even meet them and you get a stupid "red x"? Why did CDPR setup the treasure quests to where they have to be done in a certain order or you can't access and complete the Dirty Funds side quest?

I started playing at 8am this morning and finally got near the end of White Orchard as I go to the Garrison commander to setup fighting the Griffin and as soon as that quest starts, a nice "red x" is located where it says to use Witcher senses to examine the site of the Nilfgaardian soldiers death.

The hunter (Mislav) for this objective somehow someway died at some point of me playing the game today. Don't ask me how because I don't have a clue. What's the point in having objectives if you don't even know about them? Game is excellent but I hate all this random crap that can happen based on something else you did.

You can talk about visual downgrades, bugs, glitches, etc. and none of that stuff has aggravated and frustrated me anywhere near as much as what I just had happen to me. To not be able to complete an objective based on some random crap is bullshit. Unless I can find some kind of guide online that literally has a step by step process so this kind of shit doesn't happen again, im done with the game.

And game saves didn't do me any good even as back as three hours earlier. I simply don't know what I did or what happened that caused that guy to die and for that objective to become a "red x" out of nowhere. UGH.

I'm so not happy right now. :(

This sounds like a bug because it's literally the first I've heard about this.

Oh shit. Now I'm paranoid that I am screwing myself out of side quests by advancing the story!

Haven't got a clue what you're saying. It sounds like a quest either glitched for you, or it failed -- I believe after the final fight in White Orchard, some side-quests become failed automatically (this is the only area where this happens, as far as I've been told). Don't see a reason to quit the game just because one quest failed.

A quest giver won't just randomly die for no reason.

The Dirty Funds bug is the only thing that's happened to me like this in over 30 hours. Everything else tends to take into account how you approached things and the order you did it in.

Trying to do most of skelliges quests and points of internet now, but I'm paranoid as fuck for any game regarding water and probably half of the interest points are in the water >.<

The red [x] within a quest doesn't mean that it failed, but that you got to the next step earlier, thus making the previous step redundant. When you already found you are looking for, you don't need to go back and look for it. It's just that.

Yeah, this is correct. Happened to me several times.

If that's the problem the guy was having, then there's no issue here.

It's not a failed quest. It's a failed objective that has a stupid "red x" next to it. Reason im thinking of quitting is because I know that it will keep happening throughout the game.

After visiting the Garrison commander, you're supposed to meet with the hunter Mislav and search that area for dead soldiers. That's failed with a "red x" and that character is somehow someway dead. I have no clue how or when that happened.

Can I sell my starting witcher swords or do I need them for something later on?

Not that I know of. I was holding onto them and the armor because of the Kotaku article.

But now I have most of the witcher gear recipes, and none of them require the original gear.

So I found one thing that bugs me a little. Playing on Death March you seem to be funneled through the story for quite a while since you're dumped in Velen at lv 4 at best. Problem is most quests are around 7 or higher which on Death March is asking for trouble.

It kinda leaves you with little choice but to stick to the quests until you get a bit stronger which is quite the contrast to White Orchard where you can do a sweep of the map. It feels briefly unbalanced reaching Velen as a result.

The game tells you (so just reload if it happens). Not probable that you will miss it. Also, look under the failed quests in the log.

Okay. I have one listed as "failed" from the starting area so far that I don't remember getting any sort of notification on. In fact I only noticed it by going into my quest log hours and hours after the fact. This is why I'm a little worried. I don't want it to happen again. :'(

Anyone else getting more pop in and lag the farther they get in this game? Have to stand for 30 sec for the X interact prompt to appear. Technical problems seem more pronounced the more I play. Some of these side activities esp horse racing/fist fighting suck too.

Okay, The Play's the Thing was a new high point of the game for me.
I totally botched my lines while my wife was laughing her ass off. It's another great thing about this game: there's so much dialogue and exploration that it's pleasant to watch.

Question regarding the end of the 'Family Matters' quest line
Is it possible to free the tree spirit and save Anna at the same time? I really don't care for the village. I just read somewhere that someone managed to get this outcome, anybody else been able to?

i'm 60 hours in and it's only happened twice. Once because I didn't bother reading the quest, and the other time I just happened to wander into an area for a quest I didn't even know I had.

Seems kinda silly to quit because of that, of all things.

It should prompt a quest failed note with a pretty audible sound. Outside of that, the one bit where I could have failed a quest by advancing the story the game simply told me that advancing would mean failing some quests.

I failed two quests but it was pretty obvious I was going to fail them by advancing/doing other stuff semi related but in those cases the game doesn't really tell you beforehand, just gives you the quest failed notification.

In one of the side quests there is a wall that am obviously need to go through, when I use the witcher senses it gives me an icon likes like the sun.

what does it mean? I can't break the wall with aard or igni am stuck.

it's in a dungeon full of triangle shaped cheese

Failed objectives =/= failed quests, unless you are talking about something else.

It's one of the strengths of the game. You can skip steps in certain quest lines if you know where to go/or where to look.
