I can't get over Dandelion's new voice, I hate it. What a downgrade.

It's his older self, I think. Not found him in game yet, but I think it sounds a lot like the voice actor putting on an old voice.

This shot from the PC screenshot thread (courtesy of jim2point0), hairworks is wow. Wish I could have it running at locked 60.

I'm at the same point as him, good to know there's still so much to look forward to. I'm starting to wonder if I'll finish before the end of the year though, lol.

I spared him too. Seems like a nice guy, Lambert was too blind by revenge.

Same.

Based on the story the Witcher told, he was just defending himself after the Cat Witcher fucked up the contract.

And fuck Lambert, he's a prick.

Eh, a little hyperbolic there. The midpoint of the game is somewhere near the end of the main Novigrad questline. So while he's not even halfway, He's still more than a third the way into the game.

God I'm just about out of side quests. Even done low level ones to clear them. I need that patch so it can fix the King's Gambit quest. It gets stuck on a loading screen :(.

Yeah, but using hyphens as a metaphor for game progress isn't a very exact science.

I'm still in Act 1 myself, or the early Act 2, not sure. My Xbone tells me I've played 110 hours, give or take a few with leaving the game in the pause menu. It just keeps going.

So, I am about 40 hours in. Did a ton of side quests and am at the part where
I'm trying to locate Dandelion in a cave

I have yet to go to Skellige as well. Still a ways to go?

Get Junior quest : What do you think the book Geralt
would do with Junior, kill or spare him
?
I say
kill.

Geralt is reasonable, but his anger regarding Ciri's issue is enough to push him over the edge. Plus that horrific crime scene.

Geralt kills monster, and Junior is one.

To keep things simple, I was going to suggest each of the three parts of Act 1 is as long as Act 2 or 3 but I might be oversimplifying things (not done with 3).

That's about right. Thing with Act 2 is that there are optional variables related to the main quest that can make it longer or shorter depending on whether or not you do them and and when you do them, since many can be done in act one. And then you have to factor in actual side quests, the bulk of which will be completed by players in act one I feel.

I wanna ask you a quick question while I'm stuck because of the King's Gambit quest bug.

Can I go ahead and pick up Uma which I know takes me to Kaer Morhen? Will I still have a chance to go back to Skellig and complete King's Gambit?

I've put in over 150 hours, up to act 3, just clearing out Skellige question marks. My only complaint about that area is that I played about 4 hours last night and literally 35 of the marks were smugglers caches. I've killed about a million harpies. And I'd just get in the boat and drop all the gear I found in the ocean because I'm ant 130/160 weight all the time, it's all useless gear and at 30000 gold I don't need to sell. At least treasure on land gives you diagrams.

Yes. There's eventually a level 22 quest that will pretty obviously end a bunch of secondary quests unless you complete them first, but you're fine at this point.

I wouldn't say that. The reason Act 1 takes so long to complete is because the quests are open ended, taking you all over the map and by doing so, you gain a ton of side content that will distract you. If you just compare the Main Quest alone, they aren't as big as you're making them out to be

After spending 65 hours in White Orchard and Velen (with a ton left to do in Velen still), I just arrived at Novigrad ...

... This game just ... just keeps delivering.

Also,
Is it me, or does Triss seem more genuinely happy to see Geralt than Yennefer did?

Lol, what the fuck Roach.

(Late Act 1/Early Act 2)
In Kaer Morhen, my fellow Witcher challenged me to a race. I accept, beat him to the gates of Kaer Morhen with time to spare... And suddenly Roach just stops in the middle of the bridge and refuses to budge. Eskel passes me and wins.

mind you people can lie their asses off and even if he didn't lie and was a changed man, well it's lamberts "quest" and thus his decision imho, just like Geralt plays judge, jury and executioner for a quite a few people through all 3 games

Like 40/50 hours in and I've only touched Gwent twice and it made no sense to me. Decided to step back, look in to my available cards for the first time and learn to play it properly. Fast forward like 3 hours and I fucking love it. So addictive, so fun and I love the music as well. Took a few tries to beat some guy who had a special card to win from him but once I did (in the process learning many of the nuances) I started to go after every player I can to get their cards and am making good progress. Though I did win a Monster card from some kid apparently but it's not appearing my collection at all which is annoying. I won Roche off him too which does appear in my collection.

Yet another thing to get hooked on in this game. Unbelievable stuff.

Yennefer talks to Geralt as if he were her little dog, she is a snob. Late in the game I choose every dialogue option I think will piss her off. Gettin' real tired of her shit.

If anyone's having problems managing their inventory load, check that you're not accidentally stockpiling hides. Turned out my junk was full of them and they're very, very heavy once added up.

So I was thinking about the quests in this game, and the fact that they are very well done compared to almost any other game out there. I am only a few hours into the game, but the basic idea right now is "find Ciri". To find Ciri, I have to go through a specific set of quests that are essentially pre scripted, with maybe a little variety in details, but all of us playing the game are basically playing the same quests.

Now, think about a game where Ciri's AI takes her to different places in each players game. Each player would need to track her down in a different way. Too ambitious?

I find another less then obvious source of inventory weight is stacks of repair kits.

same type of thing happens to me in races. Or not knowing which way to go and then you bank off something and dead stop.

So are there any other cool armor sets to keep an eye out for other than the Cat/Griffin/Bear Witcher sets? So far I made all 3 normal sets, and the enhanced Griffin (I'm level 17), and using that currently with the medium armor perk. I love how the sets match and everything so I been using these mainly because I can't stand having mis-matched armor. Are these the only matching sets or are there more?

Oh shit just went on the PS store and noticed the Yennefer outfit and the DLC mining mission. Did these just come out?

Whoa, Reason of State.
(Act 3 spoilers)
A real Witcher quest with only shitty choices.
I expected it to be satisfying but in the end, I don't feel like I've achieved much. Outside of making sure these flaccid cocks are now sucked in hell.

There are different decks that you can see by pressing lb/rb it's probably there but just in your monster deck.

Yep, the entire search for Ciri is just Act 1.

You've got to be kidding me. I've spent maybe 40 hours so far in the game and I still have a HUGE backlog of side quests/witcher contracts and just started the "take a boat to Skellege" main quest. Lordly lord.

Edit: found it.

Man, this game loves to push the Yennifer/Geralt pairing huh? I have this strange feeling that even though I
romanced Triss
, it's not gonna matter at all. Geralt is still clearly
in love with Yennifer. Pretty annoying too as I don't like her at all.

The Azure Wraith sword is OP as fuck.

Just did the Byway murders contract at level 17 and the
ekkimara didn't land a single hit. The azure stunned it with every single slash. Holy shit. Rekt it in like 10 seconds.

Not there. :( I've searched all decks, cards in and out of the decks, etc. I can't remember its name but you get it along with the Roche card off a kid player. It's infuriating.
