Yep, about to drop to Broken Bones..
When Geralt tries to attack a guy that's further than the one in front of him, or an arrow misses you but still hurts..c'mon.

I trust you are using the potion?

The Thunderbolt? Yeah, and it barely dented him still.

Dark Souls was easier than this lol.

Anyone having an issue (playing on PS4) where it will say "press X" to do something and you have to hit it like 2-3-4-5-6 times or more to get it to actually do whatever the action is? Looting stuff is a pain in the ass. I have to keep rotating the camera to different angles to get the "x" press to "register" or whatever even though it's on the screen.

Yes, the game is janky as hell like that. Now I just mash X whenever I need to get on the horse, knowing 1 won't be enough.

After playing a few more hours, I'm sad to report that the combat and looting is as fucking woeful as the previous game. Ah well, everything else is nice enough to keep me interested (for now).

out of curiosity, what's this armour set?

i like it, a lot.

Finally starting. Had my first "learning the hard way" moment that the game doesn't autosave nearly as often as most other games. Found the guy who burned down the blacksmith's place, then found a source of power and leveled up a stat, stumbled into one of my sidequests and went through a couple "steps" of it, went to another question mark, got killed by drowners... respawned back at the blacksmith. Thankfully only lost like 15 minutes of progress but that was still an annoying lesson lol.

Our of curiosity, how deep in is the Bloody Baron quest everyone keeps talking about?

Does consuming more than one thing not stack, or does vitality just increase speed

I just completed Dirty Deeds and got no XP?

Question about main story length.

I
fought the Wild Hunt (also RIP Vesemir)
at Kaer Morhen and
I am with Ciri, Triss and Yen in Novigrad seeking help.
Oh and before going back to Novigrad with Ciri I also killed the Crookback Bog witches and one of the Wild Hunt commanders.

How far in the story am I ?

Temerian armo(u)r set
thanks

doubt the stats stand up to my mastercrafted ursine armour but i wouldn't mind switching it out to look a bit more fashionable. at level 36 there's not a whole lot i can't murder before they touch me anyway

october can't come soon enough

A freaking horse is doing push-ups next to Geralt and you want to know what he is wearing? lol
as horse animation glitches go, that is small time

try a ride down the side of a mountain, you'll see what i mean

Huh. When you finish like 95% of all contracts and other quests that end with you getting an item, Geralt does this really lame "pretending to put something in his back pocket" animation, but when you complete the "Lord of the Woods" quest, there's an actual animation of him weighing a little sack of cash. Did they forget that they made that animation or something?

You better not let Roche catch you making that mistake.

Sub Zero

his body's cold as ice, but he's got a heart of gold

You've got another 3-4 hours of main quests

Welp, spent an hour running around and got nothing accomplished. Found and completed Dirty Funds and it looked like I got no XP for it.

Off to work I go..my wife is going to start a game of The Witcher 3.
I bet she will be further in the game than I am when I get home. I think I just need to chalk up the fact that certain difficult games I can handle..and other ones I just can't grasp as well.

Igni for the griffin I mean, worked really well for me on DM. For guy with shields I find axii to work pretty well or just counter.

Yeah, Axii works well on guys with shields. Another thing that works great is to dodge towards them and to the left when they attack, meaning you end up somewhat behind them, and can easily get three-four fast attacks in.

god, i hate the horse collision detection. Was racing a fellow around the racetrack, beat him handily the entire way around, just before the end (the current) roach decides to head the wrong way around a fence pole, veers entirely off track and gets stuck in a tree while my opponent clears the end uncontested.

Witcher 3 is one of those games, who on screens it doesn't look particular great (without some of mods or editing), but in motion, when you play the game self, is fucking gorgeous

I've taken so many shots of this thing, but none do it justice. Not without the wind and the water... and all the sounds that go with ti.

And this scene looked gorgeous in-game, but so much is lost in screenshots...

You lose the subtlety in the way the lighting shifts around... making certain parts of the grass and trees highlight.

Oh... and these clouds O_O

I had one where he stopped on a piece of grass in the MIDDLE of the road, inches from the finish line.

Roach is a special needs horse: imagine how happy he'll be when he beats all of the regular horses fair and square. You just need to be patient.

I think that is the money cap bug that will be fixed next patch. Happens around the 70k mark I believe. The best advice I can give is to spend a bunch of money. Buy greater runestone diagrams or something. This isn't like other RPGs where you save up greater and greater sums of money to buy ever increasing quality of gear, since the Witcher sets are so powerful and easy to make.

Money cap bug. Lol wow. Well thanks for answer. Guess I'll spend some of it. No particular need for it. Beat the game with all Mastercraft ed sets. Just wanted to hold onto my money for if/when they released ng+.

I feel like I've pretty much run out of stuff to do except the last main story mission and a bunch of Gwent quests. I'm only level 24. Is that normal? Or have I missed a lot? I'm hearing about people being level 70 but I just don't see how that's possible?

So questions regarding where I am at in the game. I was about to go to
mist isles
and got a warning to manually save before doing so because I won't be able to finish some side quests after.

1. What quests won't I be able to complete (please spoiler mark)

2. How close am I to the end of the main story?

Anyone?

I'm 24 and i have a TON of quests still to do. and I don't even know how far I am in the main story...
I have to get the little ugly baby thing from baron's place

I don't see how level 70 is possible either, but did you get all the board quests at every town?

this is amazing! make me a deck bro and mail it to me? ill throw you a little money...like a little. :D

Are you playing on Death March ?

I'm before what I imagine is the last stretch of the main story, with almost everything but the Treasure hunts and random points of interest done and I'm level 32. BBB difficulty.

It didn't fail any quests for me so I imagine its about the sidequest arcs for your companions and possible allies in
Kaer Morhen. So: Letho, Roche, Dandelion, Keira, Yennefer, Triss, Zoltan. Maybe Dijkstra and the Skellige interregnum questline too. Lambert I think you have to get done even before that.

Yeah, I'm scouring all the maps for yellow marks and quest boards but everything is empty. I have 4 Witcher contracts for 30+, 1 main story quest, 1 treasure hunt and all my secondary quests are either horse races or gwent.

Just finished the game. What an amazing ride.
I did most of the sidequests and contracts and finished at level 35.
Also got the "best" ending, which felt really good.

Haha, I did actually think about this, but is a little rough around the edges, and besides, it's CDProjektRed's IP. I wouldn't want to make any money from them. + it takes about 4 hours to make.

If you have a colour printer, card and a laminator, it's pretty straight forward!

Level 13 and I still have to go for the first time in Novigrad.
I start to feel OP.
I'm undecided between switching to Death March or fighitng without any armor piece, naked.

I was on the normal difficulty setting, does ramping it up to Death March improve xp?
