Late game spoilers..
Man despite a tinge of sadness as the end of the game nears I'm loving the final stretch so far... Rounding up everyone and rallying against the Hunt at the Castle was really awesome. It was great having everyone come together and use their various strengths in the face of overwhelming odds. It was surprisingly easier than I expected but nonetheless I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Silly me I thought the story was coming to an end and then BAM it opens up into a whole new series of multiple nested quests. :) Only one contract and a few races left in my quest log and I have full mastercraft set gear on now... the end is near. :(

Holy shit...finished the Radovid mission last night. Wow at the conclusion
I killed dijkstra and sided with Roche since he's been my bro since Witcher 2 (also Thaler is one of my favorite side characters from Witcher) but I really had a tough time deciding to kill Sigi...He was charismatic all the way through. When I finally offed him, my mind flashbacked to a previous conversation where he warned Geralt that they might be on different sides in the near future despite being friends today.

Oh, for fuck's sake... This thread is reaching critical toxicity levels with the terrible spoilertagging. Anyone have some white honey?

Quick question: I'm on the Isle of Mists quests and the game is asking me to
talk to some friends for help.
The thing is, I sent
Keira Metz to Kaer Morhen
and I was thinking of asking her for help. Problem is, I can't seem to find her. Is she even at
Kaer Morhen?

She'll be there when you get back.

Today I had one of those perfect play sessions that made me realize this really is one of my all time favorites.

I planned a journey on the map, going at my pace, no story quests, just wandering about, helping folk on the way, playing some gwent, doing some witchering. Went by boat up the coast, landed north of Novigrad in Redenian territory and explored north of the Pontar river all the way down to Oxenfurt and then west into Novigrad for the first time, just sightseeing.

Perfection.

This is so fucking annoying why the fuck did they make all the alch shit random? it's just plain fucking stupid. I've searched everywhere for white raffords enchanced potion and it's NOWHERE TO BE FUCKING FOUND.

I went through the whole game without getting a recipe for any upgrade to Swallow or even base Rafford.

Man, the
crones
look like something straight out from Silent Hill.

Witcher contracts are getting incredibly dull and repetitive (level 15-16).

Yeah I felt bad killing Dijkstra. But there was no way I'd let him kill Vernon and Thaler >:I

Do read the books first because they can give you bestiary entries, cool lore or hints to what you should do in later quests!
For such an amazing game, the inventory system is so clunky. Books and notes need to have their own tab, and it should be made very clear which ones you've read and which ones you haven't. Once the little gold 'new' star is gone (as can easily happen if you need to quickly access an oil, potion, or bomb), good luck trying to find that note again in order to read it...

I don't think I've seen a single person here let
Djikstra kill Roche. What actually happens? Does Roche really die?
(near end game spoiler)

I've got sooo much left. Been playing since launch but I've been busy with other stuff and Skellige has so many side-quests. Unfortunately I'm noticing that a lot of side-quests are dropping in quality. The alchemist apprentice quest was an absolute joke and waste of time in every regard, and I just did another quest (Skellige, Act 1)
where Geralt gets captured and sent to a prison. This was downright irritating. I couldn't say or act the way I wanted. So silly how this masterful witcher who every emperor and king knows and who has slain so many powerful monsters and huge hordes of humans would just surrender to some random idiotic villagers. "Sorry Ciri, Triss and Yen, I couldn't make it out of this one". Geralt please.

In a little while I'm going to either pick up Witcher 3 or Elder Scroll online.

I know this is the Witcher ot and all but I would like to avoid creating a topic just to get a questions answered.

I'm looking for something with a good story and a great lore. For someone who played both which one do you feel has the deepest story? Which Story do you feel was more entertaining and satisfying?

I haven't seen that myself, but judging from the other possibilities I'd guess that (ending speculation)
Nilfgaard still conquers everything, but Temaria stays governed by Nilfgaard instead of getting their own government.
But that's just my educated guess based on the way they present the variables in the ending.

If I ever have to join someone on a boat for a quest, it glitches for me and I cannot take the helm. Happened once with Kiera and now with lambert.

Pay more attention to the dialog.

I've noticed a lot of people in the thread have had this problem, while I and many others figured it out straight away.

I can't remember how obvious it is though. Is it just a case of people not paying attention to the game?

Does On Thin Ice give XP? About to start the final mission and I'm 300xp short of hitting level 35 for the trophy

End game question.
Yeah, I got 35 at the end of the game.

I knew I wasn't supposed to drive, but didn't know you could interact with the other side of the boat and wondered why they didn't start driving when I got on. The instructions just say get on the boat.

I'm not sure if the Kiera one is obvious. I think the other ones are either implied or just straight up stated through banter.

If you let
Dijkstra kill Roche & Thaler then he becomes ruler of the Northern Realms and defeats Nilfgaard. Unlike the ending where Radovid wins the war he stops the killings of mages and non-humans and the North prospers. He's a bit of a dictator though.

Impressive.
I thought he'd end up being a lousy commander and fuck everything up. Go Dyjkstra

Hmmm, do side quests and contracts give no xp even if they're at your level now? I don't get it, 30 xp for a green level side quest, what the fuck?

So, I'm currently at
brothers in arms quest to recruit some friends to defend Kaer Morhen. Is it normal if some of them refuse my offer?
Oh, and how far am I in the main story?

Really annoyed by this fistfight at the end of the
Novigrad gwent tournament
.

Wasn't expecting it the first time, so I had no chance to counter and the opponent quickly took off most of my health. I'm having an awful time with this.

It's so frustrating that after a 1 minute and 23 second loading screen if I don't immediately counter, then I'm dead. If I miss one counterattack, then I'm dead. Each of the opponent's hits takes off 1/5 of my health; each of my hits takes off what looks like 1/20 of his health. It's stupid.

I've been trying to get past this for 45 minutes now. Why can't I just blast this fool with Igni?

Man I secretly kind of love having no time to play this lately. I can just draaaaaaag it out for so long. Been playing since the minute it launched (when I have spare time) and I just reached Skellige!

Man, I don't agree. Loved both those quests. Especially "Stranger in a Strange Land."

BTW, does anyone know if Patch 1.06 fixed the music bug with "Coronation"? Rolled back an earlier save a few days ago after getting hit with the bug but I kind of need to complete that quest now to move on.

do i say farewell to
triss
or convince her to stay?
If i convince her, should i confess my love or the other option where we can try to work it out?

I'd prefer to be able to romance all the NPCs

... It's not the Kaer Morhen armor. :(

Is that light, or medium? Are there Enhanced/Superior/Mastercrafted tiers to it?

Yah...I was expecting them to add superior and mastercraft editions of the starting armor. Kinda bummed it's not.
