What's this I hear about free dlc?

Free!

CD Projekt Red is releasing 16 bits of DLC, for free, for no other reason than that the words "free" and "DLC" rhyme. Actually, that probably isn't the reason either. Whyever they're doing it, it means 16 mini-additions to the already massive RPG. This week's bundle has just now arrived, and includes a new mission and a new look for one of the game's main characters.

Ok Gaf I'm going to go full witcher tonight. I played for 20 minutes since buying the game, couldnt see the loot text and decided to wait for the font embiggening patch. Now going back to the game, should I tackle the jobs board missions immediately entering a town or should I play out the main mission first. I always get confused on how to tackle the side missions.

Also, is picking up every single loot a wise move?

I'll try again, but I sat around for a good bit waiting to see.

Try meditating, that usually alleviates it.

For Swords and Dumplings (This is just my experience personally):
When Hattori is at the docks, walking near him will automatically trigger a conversation. You can select something along the lines of "I need some time", however if you don't come back in a timely fashion, he goes back to his shop and you're required to speak to him again.
If this isn't the case, it's just straight up bugged. Maybe roll-back if you have an applicable save.

Yes and Yes.

picking loot is a good way to get some money coming it by selling it.

If I were you I wouldn't worry too much about what missions you are doing first, but if you want some advice I would do the main quest and when you are not on the appropiate level range start doing some side missions and some witcher contracts.

What build are you guys going? Think I've settled on this. Fast attack, lots of adren regen and a strong shield.

Not necessarily readying myself. I just felt like I always had plenty of stuff left to do in the Velen region before it "made sense" to move on to Novigrad and beyond.

eh, there will always be things to do everywhere. It's like DA3 - you need to leave the Hinterlands.

Doing the same here. Just need a freaking red mutagen.

Finally got to Skellige and completed the trifecta!
Ploughing Keira, Triss, and Yennefer.

Is that far into the game? I'm level 18.

Man this game is pandering as hell. I go to find that village witch,
and of course she just happens to be topless taking a bath when Geralt walks into her secret sanctum.

C'mon CDPR. I have no problem with nudity but stuff like that is GoT level "yay boobies".

Early on, yeah, since every gold helps in the early levels and you want to have a decent amount of crafting materials available. After a while you learn you can be pretty selective about it. Most of the interesting/valuable loot will be in treasure chests and not in bags or barrels so when money is no longer an issue you can start to ignore everything but chests.

It's like, sure you could check the cabinet in every hut in every piece of shit village in the middle of a swamp to take the poor old owner's only pipe and turn it into timber for crafting but after a while if you can get over the OCD loot everything mode you may actually find it more enjoyable.

Oh, I killed a bandit. Wonder what he has on him? Probably a shitty sword and a ham sandwich. But hey, free sandwich.

is hot as hell, brehs.

yesterday, i decided to move on the main quests because my other contracts and whatnots are way to high for my level (13). i met Triss and definitely im team Yen all the way baby but maybe it changes when im done with all her quests

I just finished a story quest called "No Place Like Home."

I was laughing so hard the entire time. Geralt getting shit-faced with his fellow witchers and playing "I Never..." is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in a video game. I lost it at them drunk-dialing some random guy using Yennefer's megascope, and then Yennefer snapping at them to go to bed, completely unimpressed by their antics. Pretty sure Geralt lost more than a few points for that one.

I wish I'd made a save just before that quest. I can't wait to do it again on my second playthrough.

i have a lot more familiarity with triss because of the previous two games, but honestly i found yennefer a lot more intriguing in her VERY SHORT introduction. i'm likely gonna reject triss' advances and go with her on this one.

yeah, im sure my favoritism is because i didnt play the previous games and i dont know what happened between them. but as things stand i agree with you without any background on the two, yennefer is a lot more intriguing.

oh, well i made it pretty clear (i think)
when she asked me about yen, i said she was fine and got her answer from that though i dont know if im reading too much into it lol

Applesauce

Boom! Bitch-slapped!
Axii and Igni are the 2 signs I use the most. Wanted to invest into traps next but don't really understand how they work.

Only time I've ever found it useful was against a Golem, slowed it down quite a bit and was able to do a good bit of damage. Rarely ever use it otherwise.

Got 2 questions for people who mgiht know the story better than me:

About the bad ending
I happily didn't get it, but saw it on YT, what is this White Prophecy about and where does the portal thing go when she goes there?

And about the good ending
Game says Geralt and Ciri sets off on each their own, where does Ciri go and why don't they just stick together?
