The Witness (from Braid developer) confirmed for PS4

Definitely the highlight of the show so far, amazingly beautiful and fantastic music.

Nah, he's not canceling the PC version. It's just PC + PS4.
Great then.

I just found out that the game has been already revealed for PC; maybe a title change by a mod please?

Reading the tweets, it seems just like a timed 'console' exclusive for PS4; so apparently not only it will can come to PCs and iOS anytime, it may even be released for other consoles after a time has passed from the PS4 version. Mock me later if it turns out not to be true:

He said "The PS4 will be the only console that plays The Witness at launch". Nothing about PC or mobile. He then repeated this exact statement on Twitter later on when someone complained about the lack of iOS support.

Jonathan Blow's lectures are fantastic. I was waiting anxiously to see this again, I can't wait to play it! Best surprise of the conference so far (although Move modeling looks cool).

Watched that entire thing and was not intrigued at all. The moment I read your title that the guy who made braid made this made it an instant purchase. Hope this is just as good.

WATCH HIS "BEAUTY IN GAME DESIGN" LECTURE IMMEDIATELY!

That's the first real footage we've seen of The Witness. Looking lovely. I'll be playing on the Mac, but still, a nice little semi-exclusive for PS4.

Looked and sounded like a cross between Myst and Wind Waker HD to me.

In all seriousness though the music was sublime.

I liked his "no arbitrary puzzles" comment followed by a door with a maze puzzle on it followed by a floor made out of maze-ish puzzles...

He said it'll be exclusive to PS4 in the launchwindow, which is 3 months after the release of the console. It will probably come to the nextbox and PC after that. He won't abandon the Xbox after the huge success of Braid, would he?

Very excited for this. I imagine it's tough to convey what's so cool about this game in a short trailer. Seems like the panels are a way for the player to convey understanding of an puzzle, kind of like a language. This approach seems like a cool way avoid contrived solutions to puzzles that hamper most games.

Art looked pretty good, "puzzles" looked absolutely terrible. If that trailer was supposed to sell me on the game it did a godawful job. However, I am willing to give it a shot if I get a PS4, and if the puzzles are better than shown in this trailer.

Those maze puzzles are each sort of analogies to something in the game world, or your actions in the world, or your perception of the world. That is, they can't be meaningfully solved if taken out of the world, just as a record album is largely meaningless in lieu of a record player.

e: also welp guess I'm buying a PS4

Based on what he said about interesting experiences and non-arbitrary puzzles being all around you on the island, I have to believe those maze-like things aren't the actual main puzzles, but unfortunately that's how it came off in the trailer. Really looking forward to this regardless.

My favorite thing from the conference for sure. Looks magical. Nice to see Sony at least paying lip service to indie gaming. And given Blow's harsh comments about Microsoft in the past, I'm not too surprised to see Sony nab this as a console exclusive.

they said something really cool on the post show. Something about self-publishing being allowed on ps4's psn, that is a pretty big deal to me

Bioshock's line maze mini-game: The Game.

That aside I wonder how the final game will pan out, that 25 hour promise seemed absurd to me.
