This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

Did Nintendo get sued because some kid died playing a game for too long? It seems like every Nintendo game has a suggestion pop up to take a break after playing for an hour now.

This isnt a question, but I have two free pax prime Monday passes if anybody wants. I can't go didn't really want them, Monday was the only day I could get in the madness.

Pm me!

two questions.

Best first person open world game for the ps3 that isn't a RPG?

And

Unit 13 vs Gravity Rush? I only have a 4GB card at the moment so I can only choose one :(

Is soul sacrifice for vita more RPG or action? Is it hard like demon souls? Also I heard the level design was repetitive, is that true?

i'm slogging through Bioshock Infinite so i can see the story... i really want to just beat it and be done with this.

how many hours do i have left?
i beat some ghost shit in a graveyard and now i'm trying to find the 3 tears of lady comstock.

its more actiony like a fast paced monhun

You're at what is easily the worst part of the game now. It gets much better after that. You probably have ~3 hours left.

I got back to playing Ride To Hell yesterday (yeah, it's fucking shit) and you can only press the Windows key once to return to your browser or whatever else you last were on before starting the game. Pressing the key again will just do nothing.

My question is, is there a particular set of buttons that can be pressed for you to return to your browser from the game as many times as you want, and the game remains running during this?

Hopefully it makes sense. Thanks.

how bad is the PS3 version of RDR? its playable? bayonetta levels of bad? thanks.

It's fine.

EDIT: I've never actually played the 360 version, but from my understanding (and from some footage I saw), the main difference is resolution, which is somewhat higher on the 360. The performance itself is not much different on the PS3.

Sorry to ask this but I'm confused.
Digitally downloaded PS4 games need internet connection (authentication) to work?
Can I download a game, disconnect from internet, and play a SP campaign / race?
At E3 was only mentioned the "Disc Based Games" situation.
Thanks in advance! :)

you don't need to be connected to the internet to play any PS4 game.

Posted this in a thread about PS2 classics last week but didn't get an answer so hoping someone can help me out here

I was just on holiday in the states and grabbed a $20 card from Walgreens so I can pick up Fire Pro Wrestling (since it looks like it'll never see the light of day in EU). Just wondering - do I pay sales tax on US store purchases and if so, can I avoid doing so by setting a particular state as my home like with digital Amazon purchases?

Will be a shame if FPR costs me just over $10.64 and I'm stuck with $9.36 on my account or something stupid like that

Still hoping someone can help me with this conundrum from the last page? Any advice would be appreciated

Also, when I was out on Saturday the stylus fell out of my 3DS XL. I can't seem to find an official replacement anywhere. Does anyone know if Nintendo sells them and if so, where? If not, does anyone know a good replacement that will fit in and stay in the slot on the XL?

I think you're correct in your assumptions although I have no idea which states have no sales tax. If I recall correctly, my account is registered to Homer Simpson's home address.

Something like this?

I'm wondering something about the PS4. PS3 games doesn't work on it, correct? But can I install the games on the PS3 so I have them on my PSN account and then play them on PS4? (If you can install PS3 games that is)

Also, should I get a 1 or 2TB external HDD if I want to go digital?

No, the reason PS3 games won't work is because the PS4 is using a different CPU architecture. Downloading the game via PSN doesn't change that.

A 500 GB HDD will be fine near launch. Sure, you have some games that are ~40 GB, but most are significantly smaller.

This is more of a posting ettiquette question:

What does it mean if someone quotes your screen name, member status/tag and time stamp?

I think it means that your reply to someone's post was ironically funny because of your user name.

(Lame) Example- Someone posted about being a vegetarian and you replied with some joke making fun of vegetarians. I would then post your user name because it has 'meat' in it.

I don't think you have to pay the sales tax if you use a gift card. At least, I can confirm that it works this way for me: I just buy codes from amazon.com, use them to top up my PSN wallet and then I use those funds to buy games, for the exact listed prices. I used the address random hotel in Las Vegas, I think, but it shouldn't matter in this case. Sorry I missed your question earlier.

So there's absolutely no way I can play GTAV on PS4? Bummer.

I'll probably get the same HDD I use for Wii U then. Thanks!

I've never bought a game on PSN and I might buy RE4 HD but I got a couple of question :
1) Is the game tied to my account of my console ? For example can I log into another PS3 and download the game and do that as much as I want as long as my account is logged in at one location ?
2) I already finished the game on my PS2 and on a friend's Wii. The game's actually 20€ on the EU PSN so I'm wondering if there is a sale that can happen sometime in the year. If yes do I need PSN+ to participate ?
3) How's the port ? I mean did they go for something clean and faithful to the original game (if possible the GC/Wii version) or did they load the screen with bloom, motion blur and all that stuff ?

Thanks.

I would be very surprised if they didn't release a PS4 version next year, maybe together with the first expansion.

You can currently have your PSN account activated on two home consoles (PS3) and two portable devices (PSP/PSV). As long as you don't exceed the account limit, you can download the game any number of times. It's possible to deactivate the account from old or broken units.

Sales are available to all users. PS+ members generally get an additional 10% off.

All right thanks. Do sales happen whenever they feel like it or do they usually have winter/summer/haloween sales ? Oh and has RE4HD ever been on sale or can I stop hoping now ?

3DS or WiiU?
I think that everyone just made this topic, so i don't want to make a new one.

I'm a console guy and probably gonna play more a WiiU than a 3DS
But 3DS it's way cheaper, have much more better games and a brighter future (i think)

It depends on what other gaming devices you own. I have both a 3DS and a Wii U and haven't used either one that much. The 3DS is finally starting to get good RPGs so I'll be using it much more in the coming months. None of the Wii U games I've played are anything special and you might as well hold off buying one for another 6-12 months.

Taste in games is entirely subjective, so it would be easier if you just wrote down a list of what you want to play for both systems and see which list is longer and filled with more high quality games.

I've been hearing about game installs for PS4 and xbox one.
I thought it was only mandatory for xbox one and PS4 had the option if you want to.

Can someone give me the correct info, thanks.

I have borrowed a ps3 from a friend to play last of us. He has downloaded direct to his console from the ps store.

Can I log in on his machine under my psn account and still access last of us that is saved on his hard drive, which was downloaded under his psn account?

Yep, that should work. As long as his account is activated on the same system it doesn't matter which user is signed in.

What is the difference between Hack n Slash & Action Adventure ?!

Well a game can be both. Hack N Slash is more specific in that it has a very heavy focus on melee weapons and combat. Where as Action & Adventure is more broad in definition, and does what it says (Action along with adventure).

I think it's almost assumed that a Hack N Slash game is also an Action Adventure game, like God of War, DMC, Heavenly Sword.

I thought so too, Thanks :)

It's just I was having this discussion long ago regarding Lords of Shadow, God of War, Bayonetta, and whatnot, and one member told me I am more into Hack n Slash rather than Action Adventure which was kinda weird to me, so I thought I'd ask here anyway.

Action & Adventure to me are games like Legend of Zelda or Assassin's Creed (well I haven't played AssCreed since 2) where you explore and go through the game world while doing puzzles or fighting. It's why I can never understand how people can call Zelda an rpg. You never roleplay as Link by that I mean there is no choices to make, no leveling up so you can play how you want or even dialogue to pick from.

hmmm, interesting enough, to be honest I don't know about Zelda, but you make sense.

I class action/adventure as games like Tomb Raider and Uncharted.

DmC and God of War deffo hack 'n' slash

KoA, LOTR: WitN, Dark Souls as action RPG
