There's a few different Twitter apps isn't there? Would you say the notification for mentions is a common feature for them? Which one do you use if you don't mind me asking? Thanks

I've only tried the official twitter app and that is good enough for me. Although if there is too many new tweets since my last visit, it won't load the oldest of them. If one of them was directed at you, you'd still see it on the "mentions" page.

Well that's a more profound answer than I'd have expected!

To be more precise I get Error 101 (ERR CONNECTION RESET)

Clear cache/cookies/temp files.
Virus/malware scan.
Reboot PC.
Try alternate browser.
ipconfig /release then /renew (or do it on your router if using one).

Basic things I would try in troubleshooting.

Thanks,I rebooted PC and it's back now.
Is there a reason why that happened?

Sounds like a cache problem. You can confirm by trying a different browser...
Nope I tried my three browser and it did nothing.

What I want to know is, how did Tommy Webber (Laredo) manage to scrape up the left side of the spaceship's nose as they were leaving space dock without ripping off the entire left wing of the ship?

So lately i had connection problems, my dl is stuck at 1.2Mbit (it should be a 7Mbit)
Today some man from my ISP came at my house, tested the connection with a tool and another wifi router, and the connection was clear with a 5.6Mbit signal.
So they told me the problem is with my router (a d-link one). I can't test it via cable because my mobo ethernet port is gone and i'm using a wifi usb key (which is properly working, otherwise the nerdherder's router wouldn't go well).

So, what should i do? Is there something i can have improperly configured? i don't wanna buy a new router and then discover the one i'm using was ok.

It's a d-link dsl-g624t
That one supports up to 24 Mbps. I'll check D-Link's manuals and stuff to check what could have gone wrong in your setup.

Edit: Looks like your data rate is "G-lite", although it should be "G.dmt".

Yeah hope i can find the manuals, router is quite old:)
Thank you for your answer!

Not sure where you're supposed to set your data rate. I think your router auto-picks it. You might be SOL, mate. Try contacting D-Link support, maybe..

Is there a "Wii-mote"-like device to use with a computer? I just picked up my mouse and wanted to move the cursor by waving it around, but I failed.

Well, there's the Wii-mote, for instance.. It's a Bluetooth device — so you might need a Bluetooth dongle of some kind, but apart from that, it should work just fine in terms of generating signals. Check GlovePie, also. I think I read somewhere that it can drive the mouse cursor. Haven't checked it out myself.

Edit: Damn you, MacGurcules!

Gargh. Anybody else ever get gross oily poop from eating butterfish? How long does that usually take to clear up?

Um like 1 or 2 poops? Not that like shit is magically hiding somewhere in your intestines.

I have a portable hard drive that I've formatted twice. Is it possible to recover data that was on there before the first format? If so, are there any good free programs to recover it?

What's the filesystem?

This is kind of a random question, but I watch a lot of movies on my HDTV through my laptop:

[video on laptop] -> (HDMI) -> HDTV

I usually use VLC to play the clips. Here's my question:

Is there any way to control content on my laptop via a PS3 Bluetooth remote?

Having to get up and walk over to the laptop to pause/unpause videos is dumb!

Don't hold me to this as I don't have the PS3 remote, so I can't test it myself but you need a driver for the remote to interact with Windows ( http://experts.windows.com/frms/win...onnected_home/f/25/p/60376/283133.aspx#283133 there may be others if this doesn't work right, but it's the first one I found) and then depending on how configurable that is, you may or may not need a program like Joy2Key or Xpadder to configure the remote to register as keyboard strokes to control VLC. Good luck!

You could also do the same thing with a smartphone or a tablet with the appropriate app, FWIW.

Where can I get a rapid fire intense course on Math, Chemistry and Physics? I'm going to be tackling those courses this fall and have forgotten nearly all my math. I barely passed Chem and never took Physics. But I was a poor student and never opened the books either.

Thanks.

I also have an iPhone 3GS; would this be better to use?

Where is the "Developer / Programmer GAF" thread?

I know there's one in OT, but I can't find it at the moment, and stupid me forgot to subscribe to it last time...

Or stupid question:

I'm palying around in XNA Game Studio v4

Can anyone recommend two good books to get?

One as a basic intro, one for a bit more advanced?

Should cover a lot of areas.

It would almost certainly be easier to setup, especially if your laptop isn't bluetooth ready. I have TouchPad for my iPad which emulates a wireless mouse and keyboard flawlessly. I paid $2 or $3 for it, but you could probably find an iPhone equivalent for .99 or free.

Edit: ACTUALLY if you don't have your laptop hooked up to a wireless network you'd be out of luck with most apps as they work over a wireless network, but I think most people have wireless networks these days, right?

You can find free lectures in iTunes, under iTunes U. Lots of good stuff there, but it's in the format of a full class and not rapid fire.

for some reason, youtube isnt working on chrome. ive restarted the browser and even my PC and still. its just a black box. just stopped working out of nowhere too.

embeds and viewing in incognito works, but youtube on regular is just a black box. anyone had to deal with this? anyway to make it stop?

ive also noticed on my tabs, if the page title is too long, it just fades out on the right. i dont know if that was always the case but i just noticed it now

Disable adblock for youtube, make sure a video works, then reenable.
