Maybe they're compacting the ground for construction?
I haven't seen any machines for that, and if it were that then wouldn't the shaking be there for the whole time they're doing it? Right now it only shakes once every so often. so it's not even consistent

I've had a poorly balanced washing machine shake enough to feel it on the other side of the house. I imagine if that were the case, you'd probably have figured that out, though.

lol yeah, mine's like that too even though it's perfectly balanced. It just spins really fast. But that's not it since the shaking happens even when the washer is off.

I doubt the shaking is anything to worry about, it's just weird. I've lived in lots of houses over the years, ranging from 50 years old, 10 years old, and brand new (current house) and I've never had this happen before until now

How do I delete all of the usernames Chrome has remembered? I accidentally put a password next to a username, and now it appears every time I enter my username. No one else is going to see it, but it really bothers me.

Still there :(

Nope. :(
In fact, the website that I put the mistake in... I've specifically told Chrome not to remember the password for it. It's an autocomplete, but only for the username field.

Schmattakopf said:
You selected 'from the beginning of time' and checked 'clear saved passwords' and 'clear Autofill form data'? If you did, then it might not be Chrome. There are programs, like Norton, that also remember Autofill data.

Ah I see what FlightofHeaven is talking about now. Try highlighting the suggestion you don't like and press the "Delete" key.

I was never able to fix this. :(

Also, there some sort of MacKeeper bullshit on my computer, but I never downloaded anything... and I can't figure out where it's stored. I'm afraid I'll just have to format my computer...

Ah, you're using a Mac. Not that that's an issue; I'm not experienced with troubleshooting them. Have you reinstalled Chrome?

Well, on windows ... if you double click the Username box, it should bring up a list in a drop down yeah? Move your mouse over the offending entry, press delete key and see if that does anything for you.

So I recently learned that the highest winning percentage for an MLB team in history was 76.3%. Why is it that throughout the MLB's entire history, no team has ever gotten anywhere close to 100%?

Good PVP balancing.

Winning 3 out of every 4 games over a long season is pretty bad ass. Also baseball has the day to day roster inconsistencies (pitchers) that other sports don't have.

Is Hotmail down? I can't sign in. I had my password to expire every 72 days and now i can't change it to check my email.

EDIT: Did a password recovery and fixed it. The page for password resets when your password expires must be down.

Am I the only one or was that Green Lantern-movie fuck stupid?

It was 90's shit bad.

I thought it was comparable to the likes of Batman & Robin, Catwoman, Elektra, Barb Wire, Judge Dredd, etc.

Although probably just a bit better than all of those save Judge Dredd.

Question about monitors. I was looking at a Best Buy ad flyer for computer monitors, and I was noticing how some TVs (Like this one) had PC connections as well.

For all intents and purposes, is there any real difference between how a Computer monitor shows the image vs. how a TV shows the image for PC? Other than the physical size, obviously.

TV's can be more expensive because of the tuner cards installed in them. I don't have enough knowledge to answer your question about showing pictures differently, but I haven't watched a TV in well over a year. I watch everything on my 1080p LED monitor and I have no complaints.

Possibly a dumb question but is there such a thing as fake/prop cigarettes? I'm watching Mad Men and everybody smokes but I can't imagine all these actors smoking real cigarettes all the time. With all the scenes and multiple takes the actors would probably make themselves sick or cause a full blown nicotine addictions.

You can get prop cigarettes, usually with herbal substitutes for the nicotine and tobacco, but I imagine most actors just tough it out.

Thanks! :) Just looking to save some space when I eventually save up the money for a TV, so I'm trying to see if I can combine the two eventually. ^^

There actually is a large difference in PC monitors and HDTVs, if you're in to that sort of thing. Each type of display device touches up differing color display gamuts. This goes way back to the days of tube TVs and old VGA/EGA monitors and it all gets really technical, but they basically cover different amounts of colors. Monitors tend to cover a wider range of colors and stick to a more vivid spread of colors whereas TVs are actually more reddish and warm in their gamut. The differences between these two types of displays are narrowing and disappearing, but they are still present in most of today's displays.

Ever wonder why some monitors are thousands of dollars compared to their cousins? Well, better parts for one; but those better parts are used to enable a larger color gamut to be displayed. Artists love them some large gamuts.

Aha! That's why, then? It always bugged me why TVs seemed to cost less than comparable monitors, even with the PC connections. Thanks!

Does anyone remember the GAF thread about a web game where you chose one out of three girls to date, but whatever you did it would always end horribly? I've tried searching all manner of things but I can find it.

Is there anyway to purchase music in a foreign iTunes store? I'm in the States, and I really want to get Nero's EP/Single, "Promises" However, it's ONLY available in the UK iTunes store. I'd like to get it, and also told a friend I could get it for her. Is there any way to do this?

EDIT: Nevermind, problem solved.

I'm playing Recettear on PC and whenever I move so that the screen would also have to change at all and scroll, there's a horizontal "line" of sorts where it like blurs or distorts, and it's very distracting. Anyone know how I might fix such an issue?

So I'm learning how to cook and a alot of recipes call for covering meat with eggs. What is the reason for this? What does it do for the meat, exactly?

Sennorin said:
Are you cooking Japanese food?
Not really. Well, aside from using some "Japanese style" bread crumbs on this chicken I just made. I read the back and sure enough, there was a recipe suggesting you cover the chicken in egg. I've been seeing it often, and I wonder what it does. Is it a japanese thing?

California law says that it is illegal to force actors to use addictive substances for the sake of filming, which includes cigarettes with nicotine. Instead, they use herbal cigarettes which are probably just dried, combustible leaves rolled into a cigarette. Apparently they taste pretty bad when smoking them.

However, if you are already a smoker then I believe that you are allowed to smoke real cigarettes. I think Sharon Gless on Burn Notice smokes real cigarettes during the filming.

The egg is an adhesive when adding breading of some kind.

Not only a Japanese thing. This is used in foods in the US as well, like chicken fried steak or other things that are breaded before fried or baked, like squash, zucchini, croquettes etc. It's either used to hold everything together or like someone else said to make the breading adhere.

How come sometimes I'll jump into a thread and come back out and the "new posts" icon in front of all the threads will turn grey indicating that I've read the latest post in every thread even though I only went into a single thread?

A server-side job got killed a while ago that caused the board to start doing that. It's worse on the gaming side than the OT.

What is the more cost efficient printer for a home with school work as the main use an inkjet or laser? As as a follow up know of any good printers that can do color and are around $130 or less?

The font size on GAF is too small when I'm on 1080p. But when I increase the size in Chrome, all images are also increased in size. This results in all images being zoomed and washed out.

Is there any solution to this, script or plugin? I've tried searching but all threads are from ~2006 and about Firefox.

All of a sudden my music on my pc is really quiet, forcing me to up the sound on the speaker itself, which results in movie files etc to be extremely loud. Sound settings are at max in Win7 and in Winamp as well. Afaik, no changes to settings have been made. Granted, my speakers have been acting weird with static coming out when I touch the volume knobbut still. Cables are not loose.

Same mp3 in Winamp is barely audible while it sounds perfectly fine in VLC for instance. The volume bar in Winamp is at max as I said.

Not sure if this is it, but try right-clicking on the speaker -> Sounds -> Communications -> Do Nothing.

Reduced music volume happened to me while playing TF2 and I'd use the mic.

Thanks, that didn't work, but I found another menu close by that had lowered winamp only to like 20%. Probably due to Witcher 2. Thank you :D

Okay, dumb Facebook ? here:

When people tag me in posts -- not photos but regular posts -- the posts don't show up on my wall for other people. How do I fixed this?

Ah okay. Thanks!

This question will probably get overlooked but would appreciate the info.

Our town currently has 4 dealerships in it, Nissan, Ford, Dodge, Chevy.
If I buy something other than those 4 brands such as Kia from a different town, and it breaks down (with warranty) I assume they will have to have the vehicle towed to that dealership? Will they bring it back down or will I have to go get it? I hate to be limited to the 4 in our town but it may be a hassle to own anything else.
