Is there not some website which collects quotes from various politicians on current issues?
My google skills are failing me here, I can only find idiotic collections of "funny quotes".

Please tell me a site like this exists somewhere...

Edit: well, I found this, which might be some help. if anyone has any other suggestions, though, I would appreciate it.

You can download a dedicated plugin for your player, I've never bothered with installing the last.fm program since I've started using foobar.

i dont think we are...... can it be the heat?? cause its been in the mid 90s over here for the past 2 weeks and where there at its getting sun for most of the days..

My apologies for a bit of a gross and juvenile question but for some reason this thought popped into my head today and has me curious - Imagine a posh dance in 1600s or 1700s France. Now imagine in the middle of the dance a person has to go to the bathroom to defecate. How did they go about cleaning themselves afterwards? Did toilet paper exist? Was it common place to just pull the pants on and go about your night? Its just a funny thought thinking of a crowded room in Versailles full of nobility with their wigs and fancy clothes and everyone stinks.

is there any meaning to that name? looks and sounds pretty stupid to be honest

could it be their area code?

edit: im awesome

3OH!3 (pronounced "three-oh-three") consists of Sean Foreman, born August 27, 1985 (age 25) and Nathaniel Motte, born January 13, 1985 (age 26); both of whom are natives of Boulder, Colorado. Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte started their band in 2004 and named it after the 303 area code of Boulder, Colorado.

So I took a video at a concert tonight with my iPhone 4 of the band playing and apparently I was holding it upside down the entire time, is there an easy way to flip the video in a program or something?

Apparently you can do that in Quicktime, but I think you need the Pro version to unlock those features.

I'm unsure of any alternatives.

All DS games are region free. So they will play fine on any 3DS from any region.
There are some games that have DSi hooks enabled so they'll be locked on DSi and 3DS, even though they seem to be normal DS games. However, I don't think there were many and I'm sure I've never heard of at least Radiant Historia being that way.

Are comedy duos rare for stand-ups here in the US? I've been wondering this lately.
Yeah, definitely not common. I'm sure there are others, but the only one coming to mind right now are the Sklar brothers.

Just pulled up the Wikipedia article on toilet paper. It seems that by that time there actually was toilet paper in China, but
Elsewhere, wealthy people wiped themselves with wool, lace or hemp, while less wealthy people used their hand when defecating into rivers, or cleaned themselves with various materials such as rags, wood shavings, leaves, grass, hay, stone, sand, moss, water, snow, maize, ferns, may apple plant husks, fruit skins, or seashells, and corncobs, depending upon the country and weather conditions or social customs.

oh really? That blows thanks anyways.

What's a good wireless laptop mouse? I had a Logitech Nano VX, but it is no more. I need another one.

Preferably something around $50-60.

Best, free, video editing software? I want to combine split video files (from Fraps) into a high quality, low file size format for uploading to youtube/vimeo.

Two questions:
Purchased a new desktop, hadn't had one in 2 years. Whats the best thing to do when your not using it. Shut it down completely or let it hibernate? I will probably only be using it every other day.
Edit: Forget question 2. =D

Anyone? I am totally lost, love me!

In general, do economic recessions/depressions impede technological progress? Like say if X decade had a recession would in general, technological growth "slow" or in prosperous like the 90s it'd jump ahead faster than in recession?

The only reason to use hibernate is if you need (or want) to keep your current Windows session when you boot up. If not, you might as well shut it down.

If you're wondering about hardware stress or power, there's no difference. Hibernation doesn't require any power, unlike sleep mode.

I'm going to buy Black Swan, and I'm wondering why there are two listings for seemingly the same item on Amazon.co.uk?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004UU31WA/

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004I5C3UI/
The first one is sold by Amazon.co.uk, the second one is sold by, "Amazon's Preferred Merchant, Indigostarfish.com."

"Indigostarfish.com is an independent Jersey-based merchant offering to supply goods to UK customers via the Amazon.co.uk website."

Thanks, but why even have two listings for the same item? Lots of sellers are on the same page (23 on one of them, 3 on the other).

I'm not sure, it's strange. You can buy directly through Amazon, or you can buy from an Amazon-backed seller, still through Amazon, but a different seller nonetheless.

Those 23 other sellers are different, not backed or affiliated with Amazon and you buy through them, not Amazon.

Okay thanks, I went for the cheap one anyway. Bought An Education too, awesome film, and dirt cheap on blu now.

So they can check if there is a train coming?
They don't really need to do that by stopping and opening the doors, though. It's supposed to be for safety, but I find it kind of silly.

You can never be too careful with a busload of children on board. It's probably because of incidents like this [from Wiki]:
Video cameras have also been useful in determining the causes of accidents: on March 28, 2000, a Murray County, Georgia, school bus was hit by a CSX freight train at an unsignalled railroad crossing. Three children were killed. The bus driver claimed to have stopped and looked for approaching trains before proceeding across the tracks, as is required by law, but the onboard camera recorded that the bus had in fact not stopped.

i want to sell on ebay and never have before (have just bought stuff on there).

if i set my item with a price of BIN (lets say, $25) and it doesn't sell - am i still charged?

if i set my item with a starting bid of 10c, and it sells for less than i wanted (e.g. it sells for $5), can i 'reject' the sale or something similar? if yes, am i charged/will i get negative feedback?

if it helps, i'm in australia (not sure if prices are different).

By opening the door, it automatically displays the stop sign that all the other cars are supposed to follow.
