Looking for a website / flash game. It was a music generator that generated the sounds based on what squares you clicked on. It's been posted on gaf once or twice before, but I can't seem to get the right keywords for google to bring it up.

Question: I just ripped some DVD's and on 2 of the videos there is a green line along the right side of the screen about 2 pixels wide, what is it? I ripped 11 episodes and it is only on 2 of them.

I posted this in both the gaming and off-topic threads as I thought I'd get more replies that way and it is an off-topic general hardware question as much as a gaming question.

So my gf has a Sony Vaio PCV-A1111L all in one with integrated screen and mobo/processor and I would like to use the screen to play some Wii. The only thing is that it doesnt have any video inputs at all as its an integrated screen. I was thinking about component to USB adapters that process/transcode the input, something like http://www.hdboxpro.com/eng/spec.htm but with USB instead of VGA. Any help on how to achieve this would be appreciated.

Any recommendations?

My friend has a problem when he has rendered a video in Vegas Pro. None of us have any experience with the program but although the source material looks decent, the final results looks very bad.

It is very blocky and sometimes there are colored blocks. Can somebody help?

does anyone know how to configure synergy for two computers one monitor?

Synergy is for multiple computers with a monitor each, using one keyboard/mouse for both, unless they've changed the setup and use of the program.

Nah, it's for multiple computers over one network to use one keyboard in a server-multiple client relationship.

I thought people occasionally gave cats milk? I've never had one myself. Do dogs have similar problems with dairy?

Gives them the shits. You can buy milk for cats that they can drink without making them sick.

Guys, iTunes just update itself to 10.1.1 and now it won't open anymore. it just crash before it gets the windows up (OS X here)

Where's that thread where GAF user Bob White beat-up someone and made them lose an eye? Also, where's that thread where a GAF user walked out of a bar owned by the mafia without paying?

Do mailmen who deliver mail in places with bad weather get paid more then mailmen in places with good weather? It got to -15F today where I live, and I saw a mailman working and wondered this. If they got paid the same the mailmen in warm States are really doing an easier job for the same pay.

Probably less, since the cost of living is likely higher in warm states.

I've got a concert poster that I want to get framed. It's a bit of an odd size (12.5" x 19"), and I can't find a frame that will fit it exactly. I guess my other option is to get a larger frame and a mat. What size frame should I get?

Nope, not originally. The Episode 4 stuff was added on a re-release before the Empire Strikes Back came out.
So it was obvious there would be a prequel trilogy?

Just posting this message to see if my avatar is OK, been on this forum for ages and couldn't be bothered to pick one. If anyone can confirm the dimensions etc are fine that would be great.

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1;[....]

So this basically says that the user is someone with Internet Explorer 7 on a Windows XP machine, right? Why does is say Mozilla/4.0 then? Or is it someone using the Mozilla Firefox browser? If so; why does it say MSIE 7.0 then?

Thanks for your help, I'm a noob. :/

What are some of the things you would need to check before buying a house? Things like wall damp and plumbing, history of fire etc. In other words, what are some essential first-time-buyers questions I should be asking?

You should consider getting an inspector to check things out for you but three of the things I could tell you that you haven't mentioned are 1) the output of the electrical service - shouldn't be a problem if the house you are looking at has been built within the past 20 to 30 years or so but older than that and it might not be enough amps and you'll find you blow fuses whenever you microwave and vaccuum at the same time 2) what condition is the heating element / furnace. This was a big problem at the house I bought when I was 25. It broke down all the time and burned through two giant drums of oil (which cost about $1,000 to fill) in no time. 3) Is it in a flood plane or does it have potential to be in trouble in cases of really rainy times. If possible, check with the neighbors and find out from them how the area around your house looks after a few days of rain.

This.

Also check to see where the wall plugs are. You don't want wires going everywhere and my parents bought a house with only two sockets having grounds.

Go online and see how much the house appraised for. Is it going up in value or has it been steadily declining? Check to see how far apart the house is from the one next to it. In the event of a fire, it is very easy for closely spaced houses to catch fire. Also look at your back yard. If you are not fond of yard work, you might want to consider getting a house with a smaller one. Don't be afraid to talk to the neighbors before you buy. Last, but not least, call and make sure you can get the services you want.

That's what's called a "User Agent": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_agent

Mozilla/4.0 indicates compatibility with the Mozilla rendering engine, version 4. I'm assuming it could be what it's rendering webpages in.
Not sure on the compatible.
MSIE 7.0 says the user is browsing using IE7 on a Windows XP (NT 5.1) system.

OK I just bought a new ASUS LCD 3D monitor and wondered if it will ever work with a 3D Blu-Ray player (PS3?) if I got the right glasses or whatever. Or is this simply now dedicated as a PC monitor (ignoring the 2D aspects of course)? I know I can use the nVidia 3D Vision stuff to do Blu-Ray, but just wondered if it will work outside a PC environment for 3D.

You know those search engines you add on in Firefox? Is there any way I can add TV Tropes to the list? The arrow doesn't turn blue when I go to the site, but is there still some way I can add it on?

Also, how do you add on search engines in Opera, like YouTube?

That means you're looking for a netbook. They'll do the job better at 1/8 the price.
