Hi guys, I have a slight problem with MSI afterburner. Basically I have manual fan control enabled so the fan speeds up when my temps increase but sometimes when I switch my PC on it's disabled and I have to re-enable it and other times it's enabled from the start. Anyone know why this is? Thanks

Jet Aircraft. They fascinate me. But several things have been really bothering me.

For one, how in the HELL do these things cost upwards to 100 million EACH? I know these things have some advanced technology in them, but seriously, how the fuck?

And secondly when the Russian Goverment says the PAK-FA is still in testing mode, and won't be out in 2015....um...why? What the hell could you possibly test for FOUR years that you couldn't learn in the first year? It's basically saying "Hey guys we got this AWESOME new toy....but you can't get it until four years down the line."

What's the best way to go about selling off a DVD collection nowadays? I've got a few dozen DVDs/dvd sets that I'm looking to sell off and would normally just take the whole thing into a used movie/game store, but I imagine those places are buying for less and less these days.

Is it OK to carry tiny plastic bottles of alcohol on your person when you fly? Y'know, the tiny 50mL or so bottles used in making airline mixed drinks.

I'm looking for a video on niconico. It's some sort of video game where the pitcher is flipping out in a bunch of different ways and never throws the ball. Like he's spinning around, doing cartwheels, etc. Can someone help me find it?

it could be, perhaps, that at the time the only video available was a reversed video on youtube to bypass copyright infringement. the person who created the gif used the reversed video?
Ah alright. Makes sense, I suppose.

Totally legit according to the rules. As long each bottles is less than 100mL and you put them all in a single 1 quart clear plastic bag for inspection, you can bring practically whatever you want.

Of course as I understand it, the FAA has rules about passengers drinking alcohol that wasn't served to them by the flight crew, so I'm not completely sure that security won't get uppity with you about that. If they do allow it, I'd recommend being discreet about drinking them once in the air.

If the Green lantern's energy rings can create any object, how can they lose if they're fighting against a bunch of ships in space? All they'd need to do is slice through them all since apparently their rings can do that like the ship is made of butter.

Green Lantern objects are based off the user's will. If they can't focus with a bunch of ships buzzing about, it'll be harder to fight them.

They do get the kick at a particular time- namely at the time the plane lands in LA. Otherwise the drugs basically are timed to wear off at the time of landing which is what happens.

Also, the security was no longer there because his mind no ,onger considered them a threat, but otherwise they were stuck there for a time. They were supposed to be there for a week anyway.

I forgot about the second level were that pull trick. I guess that makes sense, thanks.
That actually brings up more questions, but it's probably not best for this topic.

GAF, my prose sucks. ): I want to improve it, but I don't know where to begin. What can I do?
Write about stuff that makes you uncomfortable, upsets you, irritates you, disgusts you. Use a thesaurus. Conciously write in a different way than you usually do. Write really short stuff that's self-contained, and a lot of it. Read a lot.

Edit: Whoops — before you do all that, analyze the shortcomings in your prose. Like, make a list of shit you get wrong.

The dimensions of the timber floor joist are: 150 mm x 75 mm at 400 mm centre.

what does the bolded part mean? does it mean the length or the center depth of the joist?

So I'm completely stumped on this one. When I plug my earphones into any university library computer I can only hear the music or sound effects but the voices are almost inaudible. This goes for most youtube videos. Help!1

I do believe that is the rated spacing between joists. A board that is 150mm wide and 75mm thick expected to be hung with 400mm from the center of one joist to the center of the next. At least that's how I'd read it if it were in imperial units. Your crazy metric system might do it differently.

I would, but then the next ten posts would be people bitching about the summary, completely oblivious to the fact that they're shitting up the thread way more than I. :)

Now that's what I call a summary execution!

Do your earphones work for other things? Either they're broken or there's something weird about the headphone jack in the library computers. Might also see if the plug is sticking out a little bit when you plug it in.

Reminds me of the other day when I was watching a commentated Starcraft 2 video on Youtube through headphones. I could hear crystal clear sound effects and music from the game, but no voice whatsoever. Fiddled around with the headphone jack and suddenly could hear the talking. Had to rewind the Youtube video to check the vocal audio had actually been there all along.

Oh, thank you mate. That makes so much sense. You just made the assinment much more easier.

How do I remove blocks I've placed on people in the new msn version? After a long time, I managed to find my friends list on their website but unlike people I haven't blocked, this person's profile won't allow me to send a new friend request and I can't see an unblock button either. Perhaps I got a block in return? :)

I had this problem on an mp3 player a couple of years ago. I just had to plug in the earphones better for it to work properly.

This is the signal from both L and R fed to both L and R. That is, the left signal is in both L and R earpieces and vice versa. This leads to destructive interference, or center-kill, meaning that anything that's "center" in the audio-scenery (which, technically speaking are sounds that are played exactly at the same time on both sides) are cancelled out by each other. The further away from center the sounds are (like, if something is panned far right), the louder the sound will be. You'll only hear mono.

Your headphones are most likely broken. I haven't seen this problem in other cases with minijacks.

I'm currently looking into buying the student edition of the CS5 suite. My question is would I be able to purchase the "upgrade" of any of the programs and install properly?

I know that elements will not allow you to install an "upgrade" version, and I want to clear this up. Adobe's FAQ is worded somewhat strangely.

What's a decent camera that's not quite as shitty as your average point 'n shoot but not as big and expensive as the DSLRs on the market?

I have a light box at work and the boss' little P&S just ain't handling it so I figure this is a good excuse to buy a fancier camera for myself and use it at work as well.

You google search "how do I uninstall new MSN" and then reinstall MSN 2009 or whenever the last good version was. That's what I did!

What's up with youtube going all "google account NOW or GTFO" on me?

Not sure, but I really enjoyed having separate accounts for Youtube and my Gmail. Especially after the recent security crap that happened.

I just made a dummy account and connected it.

I forgot about water I was boiling for tea, and didn't remember for nearly an hour (I think). The water was gone (as expected), and the pot was just sitting over the flame. Can I still use it without compromising my health? The inside doesn't look like it was effected, but the underside is fairly black.

What's the easiest way to do automatic backups with Windows 7? I just want to move a few folders from one drive to another each night. I used to use a Microsoft utility a few years ago that I liked a lot (I think you had to download it), but I can't remember what that was called.

What's the name of that ebaumsworld (or similar site) anime parody video series where the voices are all really over the top and they talk about bashudo blasters and stuff like that. There are two or three episodes.
