French GAF
How do you say "You're putting the beauty back into Paris" or..."you're bringing the beauty back to Paris" Something along those lines in French.

Don't try to get clever by feeding me BS please.

Thanks
Perhaps: Vous ramenez la beauté à Paris.

And it's sacrebleu.

Well, that Midori is mainly used in cocktails. Only other green liquor I know of is Chartreuse:

I should find a screencap. Maybe it is one of those and then they add colouring for effect, haha. Thanks for the responses.

I don't go to pubs much, or even drink really. I keep noticing, in films, a green drink on the counter. What the hell is that? It is so green, it looks like something from the Star Wars cantina. Greener than absinthe for sure.
Is the drink green, or is the bottle green? If it's the bottle, it's probably this...

It's pretty much a must have for every bar to carry and is usually quite visible.

The fan on my graphic card has been noisy for a few days. Can I block it?

I don't play games very often (if that matters?) and there are other fans in the box.

It's not a gaming rig either, the graphic card is very small, but the noise is driving me nuts

Here's a picture of the bitch.

No I mean the drink. I feel silly because I can't bring up any good examples. Here's kinda one: to the right of Harrison Ford.

I started noticing it rewatching GoodFellas but I can't find the scene online. All I see is DeNiro smoking while Cream plays, and Pesci getting angry at 50 different people.

Having a weird issue with Facebook on TWO different browsers: I can't delete posts, I can't click "view all # posts", when I post or share something the pop up stays frozen in mid air and "thinks", even though it actually posts something on my wall.

I reinstalled Chrome, the original browser, after clearing the cache didn't fix it. Then I realized I'm having the same issue on Firefox. My wife claims that she hasn't had the issue away from home, but I have yet to have her try at home.

I already updated Flash and Java and restarted my pc twice.

So...my question is: what's the software running in the background of Fb if it's not Flash and Java and where can I try and get help from Fb where they'll actually respond?

bengraven, how long has this been going on? Facebook has synchronization issues on occasion.

Facebook's user interface is driven by Javascript; they utilize AJAX, and the events effectively push and pull on different servers, which can get out of synch, which leaves you with inconsistent states and data on your interface while the database actually is consistent at all times. You should get issues like photos not being deleted, wall posts vanishing and so forth from time to time. But eventually, the events actually go through.

If that's not what you're experiencing, meaning that if after like half a day, everything's still in the shit, you can get through to Facebook support via their bumper page here: https://www.facebook.com/help/?page=756

Help GAF! I've had this issue for quite some time, but now I'm fed with it. I'll explain it. I have this awesome dropbox folder on my netbook that I use for my uni work and in that folder is where I store my files (class notes, projects, etc.) Well, ever since some guy from a group essay saved a weird file type in my public folder, now all my .docx (Word 2007 is what I use) show up with these icons, and whenever I save, sometimes it won't allow me to save on the same document, I have to do a "Save As..." and then later, change the name so it replaces the file I was trying to overwrite in the first place.

Also, they show up as docx files, but they have this weird bootleg icon that I have no idea where it came from. Is there a possible solution? Am I already dead, GAF? Here's a picture of how it actually looks. It works with my Word 2007 copy, and on other computers where I have the dropbox folder, it shows up as a normal 2007 document.

I'd appreciate some help, thanks!

Well, the problem is that they do open in Microsoft Office 2007 (the one I use in all my computers) and the preferred program to open both kind of documents is the same even though they're both different files:

One is DOCX FILE (ARCHIVO DOCX on the picture) and the other one says Microsoft Office Word Document, as if it wouldn't recognise those stored in that computer like that. The problem is that if I make a new file, it is MOWD, but it ends up transformed into DOCX one.

I am truly clueless, sorry! And thanks for redirecting me to dropbox troubleshooting, seems like nothing there though.
Nobody? It did it again yesterday. ._. Thanks in advance!

Realistically, what’s the minimum I could get away with spending on a trip to Japan (preferably Toyko) the last week of June at this point? In terms of flights, hotel, and spending money.

Awesome, thank you very much Wolf! I'm reading up on it now and trying to figure out what's up. It's been happening since yesterday morning and I've confirmed it's happening with all accounts on all browsers.

I'm also going to try and update/run spyware programs. I've been noticing some similar ads on pages that Adblock is running on and I have a feeling either I've got adware or it's something with Adblock. My browser itself is starting to slow down as well and I'm getting timeout errors on many websites.

Where can I invest a pretty good chunk of money that will give me at leat 10% interest and is completely safe?
Short answer: you can't.

Long answer: or you can send the money to my organization, Ponzi Investments Ltd, for a guaranteed 10% return every year or your money back!

I wouldn't.

The blue socket at the back looks like a D-sub port. Check in the BIOS to see if there's an option for using an on-board display adaptor, and if so, maybe use that instead of the graphics card?

If you're liberal or conservative what are views from the other side you agree with?

for example I'm conservative but I have liberal views towards nature and i believe man destroys anything they touch so why not nature? Global Warming / Climate change etc.

as well as when it comes to violence and sex in movies / video-games. I have no problem with the human body and i don't believe we should freak out if there's nudity in games. why hide it from kids?

That's actually a very interesting question, that probably is worth a thread.

Anybody know where I can find sales information regarding The Venture Bros.?
I'm trying to substantiate that it's an important and influential cartoon, but it's hard to find information (from a credible source) regarding units sold or money made.

Wanted to ask this again.

It's outrageously difficult to find DVD sales or numbers of viewings on this show.

Anybody know of any good sites that keep track of TV season DVD sales, or something along those lines?

Liberal and conservative are labels used to make you feel like you've picked a team in a game that only has one side.

Facebook question: When I get a new notification that someone has commented on my status, I'll click on it and it'll give me a "This content is not available" error and my whole status/replies and the notification will disappear for about 10 minutes. It's really annoying having to wait 10 minutes for each reply.

Anyone know why this happens?

Can anybody suggest a decent free countdown timer program with audible alarm for Windows? I'm sure I could dig around in Google and find something serviceable, but if somebody knows something good, it could save me a little effort.

Before deciding it's on your side, try a different computer and/or browser combination. Facebook is pretty glitchy.

Point-of-Sale data, at least in terms of dollars and numbers versus just chart position, are generally more available via subscription for industry folk; there are places to get partial information from, such as the Numbers or this crazy thread on High-def Digest that has obscene amounts of discussion on Blu-ray sales...

Just a quick check back through the years of DVD sales shows the Venture Bros. sets made it into the top 30 four times; none of the season 4 releases appear to have charted:

Wk end ___ Rank ____ Title _________________________ Units sold ______ Weekly sales

6/04/06 ___ 21 ______ The Venture Bros.: Season One __ 46,667 ________ $1,157,342
4/27/07 ___ 13 ______ The Venture Bros.: Season Two __ 101,804 _______ $2,341,492
3/29/09 ___ 12 ______ The Venture Bros.: Season Three _ 74,086 ________ $1,406,893
4/06/09 ___ 26 ______ The Venture Bros.: Season Three _ 36,506 ________ $693,249

so, for about 2 or 3 days, I couldn't get on to gaf at all. All the browsers on my mac (firefox, safari, and chrome) gave me "couldn't connect to server errors. My phone could log on just fine though, through the unofficial app.

DNS settings didn't fix it, power cycling did nothing, nor did rebooting my router or macbook. now it's fine. Any idea what happened? I had other frequently visited sites go out periodically, but they'd go right back.

Let's just say that you record footage from a videogame that runs at 60 fps and you try to upload it to youtube afterward. Since uploaded youtube videos can only run at a maximum of 30fps, and it will lower any videos that run at a higher FPS to 30, will the footage itself look as if it was running 30 fps to begin with?

Games designed for 60fps will typically use that as a design advantage, for example transition animations can be shorter, so people might feel like the game is meant to be played at 60fps even if they don't know why they feel that, but it will look like a 30fps game.

Is the footage recorded at 30 fps? I doubt it would do that but if it does you can just re-encode it yourself.
