In The Matrix, when Neo first awakens in the real world, why does the first machine he sees unscrew his head plug and then just fly away? Why wouldn't it kill him or alert the rest of the machines? Surely a human awakening from the Matrix isn't a normal everyday occurrence.
I always thought Neo's crew was controlling the robot which is why they weren't attacked althought they were right in the middle of the crop.

I'm looking for more gaming podcasts to listen to. Any recommendations?

I already listen to CAGcast, Podcast Beyond, Gamescoop, Weekend Confirmed, and Giant Bombcast.

Sounds like it's time to start up the "Hardcore Makler" podcast.

Do the settings for Logitech MX 518 mouse allow you to set 2 of the buttons for controlling Windows volume?

I'm not sure if it is possible, but I use this nifty little program to control the volume with my mousewheel. You can set it to change it by holding down Alt and using the mousewheel to control the volume (set by default I think). Works in any program/game you use. I really like it, and the footprint is non existent.

It's called Volumouse.

Hope that helps.

8-4play, Irrational Podcasts, and Irrational Interviews are all good, of not as regular as one might desire. And of course A Life Well Wasted, which is supposed to be coming back at some point. Out of the Game is pretty good (Shawn Elliott, Jeff Green, Robert Ashley, N'Gai Croal), but it's extremely irregular and the audio can be pretty low quality. It's also not really gaming focused, but if you've been listening to podcasts for awhile then you probably recognize the names and don't need to be encouraged farther.

If the operating temperature of a laser printer is up to 77 degrees, does that mean if it goes much higher than that it'll shut down, or that's just how hot it'll be when it's running? Like what if the room temp is like 90 degrees?

Is anyone else here a type I diabetic? I'm traveling to Spain this summer with my sister and wouldn't mind a few travel tips!

Also: My dad is looking to buy a compound miter saw so he can redo the stairs. Any suggestions?

What do you want to do? Most things are pretty easy to work out.

Something I'm looking at wants experience with it, but I haven't touched any editors like it in several years. I'm hoping for enough of an introduction to it to prove that I could pick it up quickly.

I'm tired of buying cheap home tool sets and now I want to "build" my own.

What are the must have tools for home use/ what tools do you have at home for home use? If possible, recommend a brand so I can buy it online.

I think he means like those crappy Black & Decker all-in-one deals.

Just go to SEARS and get Craftsman brand tools - they have a lifetime warranty.

Don't forget some masonry bits in your drill bit collection.

Also, a shovel and a rake.

Not all tools but good to have:

various length bungie cords
zip ties
duct tape
electrical tape
anchored screws
putty knife
plastic 5 gallon buckets
2 extension cords
rubber mallet
single-edged razor blades

What's that fast and easy way to combine an mp3 with a static photo into a video that you'll be uploading to youtube?

I remember using a site that basically did this for me last year for the Dudebro auditions, and can't find it again.

Couldn't you do this in Movie Maker?

I did it for a song once.

I always try to keep classes in consecutive order so I don't have to be in school so many days but I facing a dilemma next semester as my schedule can be shortened from 4 days to 3 and a better lead in for my next class. But if I do that I lose out on the class with a Professor I had in my freshman year, he's a great Prof and very helpful. Theres a chance I could get him for another class in spring 2012. I don't know what to do.

Has anyone here ever gone to one of those happy ending asian massage parlors? How does that work? Is it understood why I'm there? Do I have to say something? Sounds pretty sweet to me.

It's actually quite complicated if you don't know what you're doing when you walk in. There are guides to help you through the process though. Not sure if I should post one of the links, due to the overall NSFW vibe from the guide itself and the ads.

I think I need to re-season my cast iron skillet but I've never done this before. Does it matter what you use to season it with as long as it works, or will seasoning it with one thing make foods taste different or give the skillet a “better seasoning?” Also if you have a can of dried bacon grease can you just heat that back up and use it?

Gameinformer has some good podcasts. I especially like their one off podcasts on specific games such as Portal2.

Also, REBELFM bitches!

None of these are actually stupid questions to be honest. This seems like the question and answer thread. What is the most stupid question asked in this thread? any trully memorable ones?

This one.

You didn't see this coming?

The stupidest questions, unfortunately, tend to get their own threads.

//relayed information from a friend that lurks gaf without an account and I don't know if any of it is accurate as my food comes in a can or a box.

*edit dem revision.

You can use the bacon grease, but I'd recommend using cooking oil, veggie or peanut, or even Cisco.

Pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees to 400 degrees. Apply the oil/grease to the entire inside of the skillet making sure you have a coating, but don't leave any excess. The idea here is you want the oil to bake into the pores of the skillet.

Place the skillet in the oven upside down on the top rack. Put a pan or a cook sheet on the bottom rack to catch the oil drops. We're going to let it cook for at least an hour.

You might see or smell some smoke, that's to be expected. If you're worried feel free to check. After about 90 mins. check the pan, you'll be looking to see if the pan has a nice shiny sheen. If it's not there, once again make sure the inside of the skillet is covered with oil & stick it back in the oven.

Once again make sure the inside of the skillet is covered with oil & stick it back in the oven and check it again in 30 mins. 300° to 400°

Why cant I review my post history so I can find the threads I participate in?!
I think Neogaf's owner said he was going to implement that around the time we switched over to no animated avatars. Not sure when that's happening. For now you can do a google search for username site:neogaf.com

Ahh yeah, good answer. I'm not sure if subscribing to threads automatically is the default or not, but if not go to User CP, Edit Options, and set "Default Thread Subscription Mode" to anything except the first option.

I feel so stupid, but what in the hell does this sentance mean from my lecture notes

Some tangible impacts can be measured quantitively:
-Loss of revenue
-The cost of repairing the system
-The level of the effort required

Urgh I've been revising too long for this to make sense
