I wasn't even trying to ruffle any feathers, truthfully. It's my own honest opinion. I think Elin has always been in it for the payday; Tiger just happened to make her job a lot easier.

Pays $20M in taxes (estimating low)
Buys a house for $12M (presumably for the land)
Demolishes the house for however much that cost
Will probably spend at least another $10M building a new structure

I mock a lot of the superfluous spending habits of the rich. A lot of money makes certain people into spoiled brats. It certainly seems Elin is one of them.

Only some users. Others probably came in to laugh at the notion of building a house that is worth $12 Million only to destroy because they didn't like the final product. That event would be something to reasonably object to and laugh at out of jealousy. The thread title was misleading.
Most I believe are using this as a launching point to protest alimony. Many use any thread to further their own agenda whether it be alimony or fighting against an inheritly patriarchal system of values. I believe people use too many extremes when discussing these issues just due to the casual nature of these discussions. Casual remarks that are agenda-driven and are about a controversial issue usually lead to harsh statements.
In the end, yes, it is disturbing to read misogynistic statements.

That comment could have been motivated by misogyny, but a lot of GAF tends to have a pretty dim view on marriage in general. Especially when one spouse marries up and gets half of the wealth. Gender role reversal of that situation isn't common because most female celebrities marry up in status, not down.
