I just had to check out Hillaryis44. Some comments at Hillaryis44 are calling it karma, but others are pretty classy. I wonder if they'll delete the negatives ones.

Carville was just on CNN and he made a good point. Not only did people lose a friend and family member, but the country just lost a valuable political resource. This guy was so influential.

RIP

:(

I too really liked the guy, just awful :(

on msnbc when the serious music was cued and tom brokaw appeared and said "we have really bad news today..." my heart jumped in my throat because i thought he was about to say something happened to obama. hate to say it, but i was kind of relieved shortly after. but i'm really sad we'll see the 08 election without russert though. meet the press was always something to look forward to during weekends, plus i liked his moderation of debates. he was probably the most objective person in the business. won't be the same without him.

Wow, completely classless is just putting really really lightly.

EDIT: Just got done reading that enrtry looks like they deleted most of the positive ones if any.

Its a big loss for the media as he was one of the few good journalists left who didnt let politics rule their actions.

He was a deeply religious man so hopefully he finds what he believed in

So sad. He is one of the very few TV political analysts who I really enjoyed watching. His political coverage was always so energetic and engaging. RIP.

Bah. Fortunately, very few are of such a mindset as to be "relieved" that Tim Russert died, period. Never mind instead of some other person.

RIP.

This is really sad. The guy was so passionate and influential when it comes to politics. This is definitely a big loss. :(

Tim was GIDDY about this election, he was so excited for the fall campaign. :(
That makes it especially sad.

Olbermann looks like he's just been crying his eyes out.

I was playing video games when I switched the TV over to see the news on CNN, I'm completely shocked. The man seemed so lively :(

RIP

We can all agree he was the best debate moderator on any network. Russert was The Guy. I can't even imagine watching Meet the Press now...And he seemed so excited about this new election. :(
Pretty much this. :(

I've been watching MSNBC the past hour; Brokaw and Williams are fucking pros. I know that might go without saying, but not even something like this phases them.

RIP

I thought of this comparison while tiding up some clothes I got in the mail.

He is like the Jay Leno of politics/news. Not as unique as Letterman but just a really really great guy.

We lost one of the last good newscasters. Someone who actually felt it was his job as a member of the press to give the public the information and let them make the decisions on how they should feel. More and more the media tells people they need to feel outraged.

A sad day indeed.

No, absolutely not. Tim Russert had fucking talent.

Tim Russert was the one who gave Chuck Todd and Keith their shot at the crown.:/

Chuck's been crying too. His eyes are completely red.:(

they were saying on fox news that his wife and son were still in italy when it happened. they're on a plane back to the states now...

This is so sad. The man was the best new interviewer in the business, and one of the best political commentators int eh business. He was great because he unlike almost every interviewer and newscaster out there today, was able to give really unbiased look and never came off as a partisan hack that most newscasters come off as. He was one of only a handful of journalists I had any respect for.

Such a sad day for the world of Journalism.

They'll never be able to replace him on Meet the Press, everyone else on MSNBC comes off as way to biased, and that's sad.

WOW at MSNBC. Chuck Todd looks like he's cried for a LONG time.

John Stewart's America The Book On Time Russert:

Holding your own against Russert is a political right of passage akin to the Masai teenage-warrior circumcision ritual and only slightly easier on your penis. But read carefully: It's early Sunday morning, and he fact checks.

Me too, he looked ecstatic that we were finally getting down to issues and philosophies instead of all this niggling crap from the primary.

Nooooooooooooooo!! Timmy was too loveable to die!! Damn you, God, did you really need a goofy pundit by your side?! He was doing good down here!
