Well that ending felt real abrupt. Maybe we get one last ass pull before it's all said and done? It actually feels odd because everything happened so quickly when any other time it felt like it took years to get anywhere in Bleach.

Man, when this arc started it actually got me into Bleach again. It looked like it could have cool fights, and interesting plot and, more importantly, stuff like bankais, the soul King and his special squad, etc which had been hinted at for years.

And then came a bunch of underwhelming fights, bad pacing, boring plot progression and reveals and all culminating into what has to be the worst final fight of any big Shonen ever which was basically months of the main bad guy showing how OP he is to the shocked face of the main cast

Can we talk about how garbage Ichigo's bankai is? Even Renji's first bankai was more interesting. Hell his entire Zanpakuto is lame as fuck. He gets a giant butcher knife that shoots energy waves. Generic. But then he gets this badass bankai:

Look at that shit. A nice-looking black katana that lets him move at very high speeds.

Except like two chapters/episodes later, everyone is moving as fast as he does when he uses his bankai. So it basically becomes a regular fucking sword that he probably only uses to fight more comfortably because swinging around that giant cumbersome shikai was a pain in the ass. A shikai that he didn't even use correctly.

And what does it even do now? It's a multi-layered sword that getsugas extra hard? Fuck you.

Yep, this is why Ichigo has always been the lamest main character from the "big 3" Shonen mangas.

It's almost like he doesent fit the world of his own story. Everyone has some cool and unique ability in their bankai..... Ichigo just gets a standard powerup

The moment Kubo just started ignoring the fact that speed was supposed to be his ability is when I started to dislike the manga (which for some reason I still read lol). Well that and a bad story, boring and repetitive fights and horrible pacing .

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
I really hope the anime comes back. It would actually add a lot to the series because they could insert "filler" material that addresses the plot points that the manga didn't have time to answer.

they gave tite 4 years, this rushed ending is his own fault for dragging it on thinking he had endless time, I bet he figured he could drag this out 2 more years if they allowed it.

Like many, the peak of Bleach was the SS arc. It wasn't perfect, but it had the right balance of awesome moments, powers and payoffs.

With subsequent arcs, Bleach started losing more and more of those pieces.

The Arrancar arc, imo, suffered from not delivering any real sense of payoff to anything it set up. Orihime/Ulquiorra relationship had no payoff. The build-up to Winter War had no payoff. The war itself had no payoff since it was barely a war, just skirmishes. The tension had no payoff with so many characters not using Bankai or being at their 100%. It just felt so meaningless, watching so many beats in Bleach delivered so poorly.

There is practically no equivalent to the Aizen reveal or Ichigo stopping a giant flaming bird to save Rukia, or Ichigo's Bankai reveal in the Arrancar arc. No moments that are subtly built up over the course of the arc, to deliver a massive FUCK YEAH moment. Every major moment felt so cheap and rushed.

But even then, I enjoyed it for cheap thrills and fun.

But the Quincy arc...

What the fuck was Kubo thinking with the power escalation of the villains? Practically every enemy power was some form of JoJo's Bizzare Adventure overpowered and super specifically impractical stupid. It became a game of counters without any of the strategic thought behind them, just there for the sake of being super powerful so that the counter could be as ridiculous as it was.

And if Arrancar arc payoffs were terrible, it manages to be so, so, so much worse in this arc. Practically half of the subplots will end up unexplained, unfulfilled and even those that are... most of them are baddddd.

I've read a lot of Shonen, and SS hold it's own against any top tier arc. A complete fluke

10 years spent reading this manga and this is how it almost ends.
Disappointment is the nicest word I can think of as of now.

Aizen better be still alive.

So uhm.

Why couldn't Yhwach see the arrow coming with Almighty?

Also, why can't he just like, regenerate from Ichigo's Shikai slash with Lille/Gerard's insane abilities? Heck, why is he tangible at all? He absorbed Lille, meaning he also has the Schrift to render himself literally untouchable.

Ive read hundreds of manga series to completition throughout the years and this one is probably the first one im not gona miss one little bit.

Like i felt some sort of emptiness and release when Naruto ended (screamed internally when i found out about the sequel....just why), but here, i just want it to be done so that i dont have to ever think of this series ever again.

Seems odd that two big SJ manga seem to be ending during the same issue next week. Surprisingly, the romantic harem seems to be handling its ending with way better pacing. As of right now, it feels as if Bleach's ending is just someone pulling the emergency break.

Why do the Quincies do anything again?

Their powers make no sense.

Their motivations make no sense.

Like the Arrancar being freaks at least made some sense, they were former Hollows. These are just random things and they don't even use bows and arrows, which was basically what defined Quincies before this fucking stupid arc.

Back a decade ago when Bleach was still coherent, the Quincies were rivals to the Shinigami. Instead of saving souls and sending them to Soul Society, they'd eradicate them. IIRC, Uryu was the only Quincy left.

But then somehow, for this arc, there were suddenly a whole shit ton of them.

what a shame. I remember my friends got me into this and I read everything. They dropped it after the fulbring arc lol. This ending is giving me Gantz levels of rushed.

I think a Shinigami vs Quincy war has been in Kubo's mind for a long time. How we get there, though, is meh.

Man I kinda want to reread Soul Society Arc. Back then it was the staple cool shonen manga about cool heroes vs cool villains using cool powers. Every cosplay convention has to have at least one member of the Gotei 13. Tensa Zangetsu sword were sold everywhere.

He who pursues two rabbits gets two rabbits.
I think that one no-name shinigami that got turned into a suicide bomber when we were introduced to Mayuri had more character development than 95% of the new characters introduced in this final arc.

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
The shitshow thats gonna be next weeks final chapter is a fitting black mark against Kubo Tite's name. The fact that an editor had to essentially hold his head down into the mess on the carpet he'd made and tell him he had 5 weeks before he had to leave Shonen Jump's house permanently... delicious.

No sequels, no "extra epilogue in the anime", I want this to be it. My beautiful beautiful freedom from Bleach forever.

You know you can just stop reading right lol?.. Taking pleasure in someone's downfall

This. Jesus christ, this in its entirety.

I can't even put into the words the disappointment I felt when the power creep starting setting in.

He should have been a speedster...

THEY WERE IN THE MEDIEVAL QUINCY DIMENSION

Who knows. Might as well be the same, unstated reason why Uryu is uniquely immune to the Auswahlen.

Bleach in a nutshell folks, this bullshit never made sense.

The almighty future shaping dude somehow fell into some trap. Hell, shoulda played it off as Aizen secretly Bankai'ng the situation.

This has been a carnival of stupid for a long time now.

I used to harp on Naruto for the same shit at the beginning, but by the end, he learned dozens of variations and fully explored and exploited his own moveset in concert with his power increases whil still learning a few new things. Ichigo literally learned nothing new up until the very end and finally used a top level hollow move. He spent the whole of the story brute forcing everything. Ken was the same but that was part of his character to be deaf to his sword's screams.

Narutos character development was heaps and mounds times better than Ichigo, leagues and miles ahead. It was actually believeable, it took time and training for it to flourish and we could actually see the improvement over time, and you can honestly believe that when naruto became a God that it was actually true.

Not this literally hollow ass character with bipolar powers.

It's mind boggling that we put up with this shit for so long lol..

I always liked the sense of scale in Naruto way better than in Bleach.

In Naruto, power creeps were fairly consistent with how much you fucked up the surroundings.

Chunin/Jonin-level --> you can fuck up buildings or a city block
Kage-level --> you can fuck up a city
Biju-level --> you can fuck up mountains
Demigod-level like Hashirama --> you can fuck up multiple mountains
God-Tier like Juubi --> you can fuck up countries
Super God-Tier like Madara/Kaguya/Naruto --> you can fuck up continents/moons

In Bleach I can't tell what's stronger than what unless it's explicitly told to me.

It's fluid but not in any way that makes sense.

Most of the enemies in this one were immortal, except for the ones that weren't. And then that became a moot point because Ywach killed them all, anyway.

It's honestly hilarious how much time was wasted on Gerard only for him to be unceremoniously taken out by his own leader in the middle of his fight

Underwhelming chapter. Can the epilogue save it? ....No, it can't. But maybe it can make this final arc slightly less awful to me.
