So I was matchmade with a random in the DZ and he looked fucking baller. With the mask on, he basically looked like a Metro 2033 soldier.

Are the (paid) military packs the only way to get those cool helmets? The cop and SWAT helmets aren't cutting it.

Is that a paid DLC outfit? Helmet looks amazing.

EDIT: that helmet sure doesn't look like any of the DLC outfit pictures on the PSN store.... anybody know how you get that helmet?

Link good for equipment, but doesn't say anything about gear mods. I am reading different things. For gear mods, scavenging roll on any or performance only. I have roll lots of firearms and stamina mods, but don't remember them having scavenging. I could be that I wasn't paying attention and just deconstruct them.

I'm not in front of the game right now, but I'm almost positive that is rolls on the purple level firearms mods (maybe stamina or electronics too, not sure). At least that is all the scavenging mods I have. I don't think I have it on yellows. I have gotten a bunch of these purple gear mods as drops, mostly DZ drops, but I think there also might be a purple blueprint you can craft.

The mods add somewhere between 5 and 9% scavenging I believe. Seems like the biggest boost is from your kneepads. I got lucky there; perceptive (which adds 25%) and 93% scavenging as a talent, which is near the top of the scale. So I'm at well over 100% just with those.

I wish they could fragment some changes and put out some hotfixes.. They really need to change how people can get division tech. But in the meantime they could just lower the spawn timer.

I don't know if I want to spend 10hours farming d.tech to be able to roll 3 more MP5s

Swat helm is a season pass item

SWAT helm is okay, but I'm not a fan of how wide it is/the ear coverings. I really like the style of the third outfit's helmet:

I wish Ubi would make stuff like this purchasable, but also as really rare HE drops in the DZ or something.

Once again, I feel like Ubi could have done SO much more with gear variety, even within the limits of reality and The Division's game world.

So with the confirmation that scavenging only affects chance on the roll and not the drop rate...do we know if it has an affect on crafting RNG?

This is why I stopped re-rolling on my Vector, my MP5, and my AUG once I got three reasonable talents that are all activated on my current build (I'm not changing my build either). I was lucky to get a roll like that on my AUG on the first try, and on my MP5 on the fourth roll. Took me over 15 rolls on my vector, glad it didn't require div tech.

RIP

lol so I'm part of the 0.000002% for the perfect rolls on my vector and mp5 :p

mp5 took only 2 crafts, vector about 6.

There is a cap but I'm not sure what it is. I'm up to 65% wep dmg mitigation- that might be the cap maybe?

Yeah, 65% is the cap.

Is the Pakhan any good? I got 736K credits burning a hole in my digital pocket and I'm liking the Destructive and Ferocious perk (It has better perks than my Vector which 2/3 skills are even activated). :(

It's still my go to for Challenge mode, at least Lexington. Talents are pretty easy to activate too, unlike some other weapons. Plus what else are you going to spend those credits on?

The Tactical ACR is really moving up on my board though - much prefer it to the AK.

I main the pakhan. I like it. It has some serious kick though.

I use it than more than my vector with ferocious that only took one build to get ; )

LMG's in the current state are just vastly under-powered. Pakhan talents or otherwise, they just can not match the damage output of other weapons.

A SMG that rolls with ferocious and destructive and only 40 in the mag will out-dps an LMG with the same talents and 80-100 in the mag.

If you take an LMG to pvp, you're already dead :p

Right now they are basically like a poor man's secondary weapon when you don't have another viable secondary. Sad but true.

I didn't see a reply, Is Deadly, Ferocious and Vicious good enough or should I keep trying to find a better roll for the Vector?

That's a PVE roll, it's good so keep it. Don't waste mats crafting more vectors. save them for DT BP's like the AUG and MP5. If the next patch nerfs SMG's (which it most likely will), you'll have wasted a ton on materials for nothing.

I'm rocking Deadly and Ferocious, that was enough for me to stop rolling. I had one once with Vicious and I think I'd rather have the missing segment talent. Odds of getting three great talents, a good base damage, and a high base crit chance isn't worth the materials IMO.

They could use a little more damage, but I fail to see what is so bad about using Pakhan and a Vector for CM, especially in tighter maps like Lexington. The talents are perfect for it and it's a suppression machine which is important if your team's not steamrolling everything.

I'm growing to like the ACR more. I really don't like the AK - regret the purchase.

But yeah, not good for PvP. I hate when I'm cruising DZ clearing mobs with Pakhan and a rogue battle breaks out. I feel naked outside SMG range.

You guys want paid outfit pics? Here you go. 8 in total.

Marine Forces Pack

Military Specialists Pack

Yup, I want that 3rd Marine helm/outfit.

Although Military Specialist 1 and 2 have awesome helmets. They would be so much better if you could actually wear the goggles/pull the visor down, though :-\

It's not like we need to see our faces. Everyone surviving in New York City apparently comes from the same eight families, anyway :p

Yup using that Military Specialist 2nd helmet. Actually its the one in my avatar with the mask. I use that with all black gear and it looks great in the DZ with the mask.

I was definitely hoping there'd be some crazier looking skins in this game. The jackets are cool and stuff, but I was hoping for some wacky futuristic armors. Maybe in a future update?

I love the Dark Zone. My group of 4 isn't quite geared enough to take out really good rogue teams of 4. Typically we focus on one guy and kill him then yell "ABORT" and take off in 4 directions. Cracks me up.

I've seen people running around in an orange jumpsuit. Ideally my character would be entirely coated in orange and black. Anyone know what the orange flighty l flight suit looking thing is called?

Like I said, it's a viable secondary if you don't have another option. Any full auto weapon can suppress enemies effectively, not just LMG's.

Marksman rifles with + headhsot dmg will out-dps any LMG and are the preferred secondary weapons along with AR's.

Shotguns and LMG's unfortunately are low tier in most conditions.

As it is, the game only has 6 weapon types and 2 of them are vastly under-powered, while the sidearms have very limited and situational usage. I hope a major weapon balance is implemented in the next patch.

Orange jumpsuit is the hazmat dlc costume.

The Hazmat suit? You pick it up from the rewards vendor at your main base if your game had the stamp saying it was included.

Before I start wasting mats, can anyone with Gear Mods that rolled scavenging tell me what type mod it is, Firearms, Stamina, Electronics and/or Performance?

After 3 Vector rolls I got Armor Damage, Crit Damage, and Bonus Damage on close targets. Middle of the road damage. I could probably do better but methinks this one will do.

Really? I have a bunch of superior firearm and stamina mods with +scavenging, but actually have not seen it roll on HE mods. Wonder why is that the case?

I think it's because you only get major bonuses on HE mods, but the game sees scavenging as a minor one.

Dark Zone Changes

Changes to the Dark Zone have moved the statistics of players engaging in the area’s content into a more desired range. The developers are happy with the current state of the Dark Zone and have found that people are, on average, spending twice as long in this area than other areas of the game.

Isn't that , because people are forced to come here in order to get some loot?
i'm no expert but i spend time in the DZ because i had nothing else to do... but i'm not enjoying myself here.

I have no intention on roaming the streets outside the DZ since i have nothing else to do.

I'm slowly but surely quitting this game unless some changes are made.

Thanks for that. I did preorder the game and never got my code. I've emailed Amazon to remedy this. I've been hoping to get Halloween colors!

I always wear them when their an option.

Devs probably think you have HE so why get anything better. ;)

Hmm, makes sense I guess.

Honestly, I'm not even going to waste my time with + scavenging on mods. The way they said it earlier on stream, it affects the quality of the dropped item, that is not the same as saying that it makes more HE items drop.

So, +scavenging is good for farming HE DT in theory. It makes no substantial difference to the drop rate of HE gear.

I like running Pakhan as my secondary in CM and DZ grinding bosses. It is a good long distance Weapon to balance my close up SMG.

Don't care if Pakhan has optimal DPS. It still totally recks all Enemy NPCs and most rogues.

Obviously I'm not gonna take down ruthless with it but that's OK with me.

I think I'm in a pretty good spot to calm down my playtime.

104k dps 63k health 19k skill

Rocking a pakhan with swift, destructive at 18% ferocious at 13%.

Armor is at a cool 4815 and mitigates 65 weapon damage.

Gonna work on clearing my map. Haven't fought red enemies in weeks.
