It's now that I am reminded of the fan theory that Gretel was a victim of genital mutilation, which is behind Rock's strong reaction on the boat.
I guess if you use your imagination, one can say their sexual organs have been fucked up to a point where even "Hansel" is part female.

I sort of think he would stop at just saying "fuck this" and going outside and not move on to physical sickness, but I guess.

Yeah...that arc is all sorts of messed up that ends up being almost happy in a weird twisted sort of way. At least they are finally free from the suffering they had to endure that made them that way. I know that wasn't what they really wanted. They wanted to live on forever on the suffering and death of those they killed. Luckily that nightmare for them is finally over.
Still my favorite arc of Black Lagoon so far. The next one is a bit more light hearted, at least in terms of what you'd expect to find in Roanapur.
It's not a Seda gif, but I don't have one of those.

Tenchi GXP halfway point observations:
1. This show is fucking ugly. The coloring and shading makes the character designs look amateurish, and the backgrounds leave no impression whatsoever. And that's strange because Tenchi's space technology generally looks cool; the only thing that's really stood out to me about any of this stuff is that it's colorful. As far as animation goes, I've actually been tempted to count the number of slow pans up or down or sideways. And there's enough zoomed-out shots with barely any detail to make my eyes bleed.
2. Seina has no reason to be determined to join the Galaxy Police. The first quarter or so of this show is various situations where he's given the opportunity to quit or encouraged to quit, which is treated dramatically. And then he gives the "I won't give up" speech and the show continues. But...why? Like, he's only there because his parents forced him into it. He doesn't even say something like "I've never felt right on Earth" or whatever. He just says he won't give up, and there's no reason behind it and the show expects us to root for him when his entire character is "the kid who fucks shit up on accident."
3. There are too many characters. Let's look at who we have here: Seina's dad, Seina's mom, Seina's sister, Seina's friend, that commander guy who he met first, those three morons whose sole purpose is to be thirsty as hell, Seina's roommates who are basically those three morons except there's only two of them and i think they actually have names but i don't remember, Mihoshi's mom, Mihoshi's mom's dad, Mihoshi's mom's mom, that green haired chick whose name i can't spell who was married to Katsuhito on Earth, Lady Seto, Lady Seto's two servant people, Seiryo, buff blue haired pirate lady, Tarant Shank, Kiriko, Kiriko's commanding officer, Erma, Ryoko Balta who reveals herself to be Erma, Amane, Amane's mom, Amane's dad, N.B., pirate boss, Lady Seto's husband, token loli, Ryoko Balta's grandfather, weird girls who rape Seina at the end of the show, Ryo-Ohki, and I think I fucking left some people out. WHY DOES THERE NEED TO BE THIS MANY CHARACTERS?
4. This show skips around hilariously. I think two episodes are dedicated to Seina training at the academy (well, one where actual training occurs) before he undergoes body enhancement and moves in with his harem. Then after all that's over, he trains on missions. Then he's a captain (which is never explained, by the way; this kid attracts trouble just by being around, you don't need to put him in charge of a ship when I'm not even sure if he graduated the academy.)
5. Watching these girls fight is not fun. I don't know what it was about the old Tenchi shows, but watching the girls fight there was fun. Here, it's just.....not.
6. Fuck N.B. As stupid of a joke as it is for him to get repeatedly speared up the ass for something, I take some pleasure in his pain.
7. The really crude jokes feel out of place in this show and in the Tenchi series as a whole. Fanservice aside, this show is generally at about a PG level. Then you see Seina's Earth friend humping his love pillow, Kiriko waking up Seina to discover his boner, some weird bondage stuff, Seina's roommates being tied up and having scientists examine their penises......it just seems like it's trying too hard to shock you.
8. I am bored by Seina's harem. Erma/Ryoko has no personality, and Amane and Kiriko could almost be interchangeable except for the few times where they have Kiriko being shy and Amane being....well, not.
9. There's one random kind of decent episode that I forgot about that's also kinda bloody. I'd have liked it more if the animation wasn't still terrible, but it does generate a decent amount of tension and suspense, which makes it feel kind of out of place in this show because.....
10. The action sucks. Barring that one episode, there is no suspense. There's nothing that looks cool to admire. Hell, there's barely even action to begin with, and when there is it's just random explosions as you watch the characters react inside the ship to those explosions. I actually don't ever remember them fighting back.

Definitely agree. After watching I was asking myself if it was okay to feel sympathetic towards them considering they've killed tons of people. I'm sure that the show's intent was to make me feel for them but I didn't know if they deserved it. Then I realized it is possible to sympathize considering the horrible conditions they were raised in, while at the same time not condoning what they'd done.
And was this last arc the one people were referring to as the big one with regards to pushing the envelope? I just don't want that arc to be like the climax of the show with future eps dropping in quality or something.

It's one of the heavy hitters for Black Lagoon in terms of social commentary on actual events that happened to children in Eastern Europe. There are splashes of actual events and ideologies that help drive the plot instead of everything being made up. The next two aren't nearly as heavy in this aspect, but no less fantastic. It's just not nearly as jarring as the twins arc, which can be a bit much for a lot of people to stomach.
Yeh first time doing this so I don't know what's up with the artifacts around the ears.
