i've already addressed why it at least somewhat makes sense for DBZ, though (to which i'd add that it might be a budget thing that they would premiere other shows in 2015 instead of around the same time as DBZ.) and as for movies, the point of a December movie month is partly because of the holidays. people travel, people see their family, and people don't sit around watching midnight anime on Adult Swim; part of the point is maximizing viewership for the premieres by giving them a break during the time they won't have as many people watching, so i will be absolutely shocked if the movie month starts at a time other than 11:30.

i don't find "they needed more time to dub the show" to be a meaningful distinction, either. when it comes down to it, the reason they had for placing a rerun at the front of the block isn't really the point here. the point is that they had the confidence in that show and the rest of the block to do it, so there's no reason they wouldn't do it again. what happened in the past matters very little if it doesn't make sense, and cutting off both DBZ and a brand new premiere does not. there's no tradition they're adhering to; they only did it because it made sense at the time, and here it doesn't make sense so they have no reason to do it.

but either way, i don't think we're getting anywhere with this.

Yea, about the only part I agree with you on is that we are not getting anywhere with this, you have your lines of logic and I have the patterns of history on my side. I suppose we shall find out who is right and who is wrong soon enough.

Honestly if I wasn't staying up for Hellsing anyway, I'd probably bail out. To this point half of the episodes have been lame; that's not a good ratio.

The good thing is that it actually does get much better from here, so there's that to look forward to.

I'm good as long as we can avoid Bio Broly, the second Bleach movie, any part 1 Naruto movie.

I would be over the moon if Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya was played, especially the week before Christmas when I was going to watch it anyways.

Has Toonami ever aired Bleach: Fade to Black? That'd be my first choice for a Bleach movie if one was to air. I liked it, to be honest. Hated DiamondDust Rebellion more than any Anime related thing in the world, though.

As for Disappearance, I doubt it would air (not enough action), but stranger things have happened. I certainly wouldn't complain.

It is a Christmas movie though!

And yes, Diamond Dust Rebellion is the worst anime movie I have ever seen and I know they've shown it before. No idea about Hell Verse or Fade to Black.

All of them are worth watching except the one that focuses on the Ice Guy.

And FINAL ACT will be Viz new show on Toonami!

In FINAL ACT,
everyone gets at least one powerup.
LORD SESSHOMARU and Inuyasha
get two each and become broken as fuck
but in a swerve
Sango might be right behind them in Naraku killing power.

didn't Funimation license every Haruhi thing EXCEPT that movie for some weird reason?

But
she still goes down fast anyway
.

While I'd be excited for Final Act to air on Toonami, I'd have to zerg rush the remaining 40 episodes, hopefully if that is their plan they'll announce it soon

Well, it wouldn't be Inuyasha if she didn't.

It still amuses me though
how outclassed Naraku is even with the Shikon Jewel, yet he survives a decent amount of time on nothing but pure cunning. The Inuyasha team did all of their sidequest prep and massively over leveled for the final boss.

I liked the second Naruto movie though. Does that make me a bad person?

that and a new technique,
GENJUTSU, Also Kingdom Hearts speeches about light and darkness

He also finally gets something he never had before
A loyal incarnation!

The second Naruto movie is the best of the lot. It's still not great plus I'm sure they've aired it before.

it's InuYasha, i think you've got a basic grasp of the plot :p

I still want the satisfaction of having see it in order all the canon material anyway. I'm worried that if I watch the rest of what hasn't aired I'll get impulsive and watch/finish Final Act and then it'll get announced a week later :X

I was all in all really impressed with FINAL ACT. The dub is great even with the changes, it's gorgeous as always with some slight coloring changes, and it moves at an incredible pace (to the point where the one main flaw of the series could be that it never slows down.) If a character discusses something they are going to do or wish would happen, they go and get it done. Honestly the closest comparison I can make is the DBZ Abridged series when it comes to pacing. It's a level beyond DBZ Kai in trimming the fat, an ascended version if you will.

Also I guess it's time to talk about Beware the Batman. Beware the Batman is an awful show that should have never been made, though it's not completely without merit at all. It does actually get better as it goes along, but it's far too little far too late. I actually find it entertainingly bad and was generally glad I stayed up this morning to watch it.

A short list of things I liked:

Alfred: Is really great. Good voice, one of the few cool looking characters in this style. His only real problem is that half of the plots of this show are about his unresolved shit from being at MI 6. Get it together.

Katana: Might be the only person on here who liked her one liners. She's a pretty fun assistant who also improves as the show goes along, plus she is a specialist in helicopter related fights.

Professor Pyg, Toad, Magpie. The first two villains and Jaken. Yes, they are obscure as fuck but you know what? There episodes were generally pretty good. Pyg came off creepy as fuck.

Anarky: Anarky is in some bad episodes and no one makes a fool of Batman over and over again quite like Anarky. Sure Rahs also beats the shit out of him but he is a bonefide Archvillian with an entire support structure around him, Anarky is just some dude, you know?

Things I didn't like:

Art: Is bad. Gets better, but it still makes season 1 of Clone Wars look like Toy Story 3 or Spirits Within or something ridiculously impressive. The city is barren especially in the early episodes, like the video games.

Sound: Not great either. None of the music really sticks out, some of the voice mixes are low, the sound effects are bog standard.

Two Face: What's the point of portraying Harv like a villain to begin with? He's supposed to be a nice guy with some slight anger issues and a righteous sense of justice before the accident, and here he just goes from cartoonish foil to a bad evil Darkman wannabe.

Almost every other villain: Besides Whale...and Deathstroke, and Croc. They suck.

The elephant in the Room, Batman. He's the worst detective. He loses to low level goons and non physical threats often in the early part of the series to the point where we all started to notice this. They do improve this in the last ten episodes or so but the damage is already done. Batman also never has the menace that he has even in the other bad Batman show, The Batman where he at least scared the shit out of all low level thugs in the city. No one is scared of the Bat here because they have no reason to be.

Overall this is just above the utter worst shows that have been on TOONAMI since the reboot. It's better than Tenchi Muyo GXP because its not as boring and won't make you feel unclean and its better than Thundercats which is the most disappointing waste of promise in western animation in quite some time, but then again this was a show that never should have been made in the first place.

i'm actually kind of wondering how many movies Toonami even has to choose from at this point

I mean if I were them I'd bend over backwards to get Dragon Ball Z Battle Of Gods as part of the month of movies that would probably do gangbusters. Also with Bleach being finished would be the perfect time to bring out one of those movies too.

i was kinda eh on the CGI for early Clone Wars at first, but when you actually compare it to pretty much every other CGI show it looks pretty decent. which is kind of sad.

i don't agree that it's better than Thundercats; Thundercats certainly makes me angrier, but there are legitimately good episodes in there every once in a while and pre-betrayalathon it's alright.

This is pretty much the most glaring problem. I can't remember a single time anyone in Gotham was afraid of Batman in the entire show's run. The low level thugs boasted to his face about being able to beat him... and sometimes they did!

Beware The Bat was so boring I'm not even going to bother to finish the episodes I fell asleep during. Maybe just watch the one with Slade Deathstroke

From what I remember lazybones didnt like BOG either.

not lewd enough.

I dislike being disappointed more than just about anything else when it comes to entertainment so I judge it most harshly. I knew BtB was crap so when it was crap in an entertaining way I was fine with it.

Thundercats though. It could have been the next Avatar. All the promise in the world from that excellent pilot movie completely wasted only an episode or two later. Great production values, voice acting, decent source material to draw on and expand while making it its own thing. Also when Thundercats gets bad it becomes unwatchable. Beware the Batman neve gave me serious thoughts of abandoning it but the worst of Thundercats had me turning it off.

Clone Wars animation got progressively better. The movie and season 1 are dire but still miles beyond Beware the Batman or the real winner in awful animation, Green Lantern. By where the show ended it got pretty good and hell, just look at the preview clip Netflix released when they got the rights to season six months ago.

Just look at that! Downright impressive!

Lazybones has specific tastes when it comes to lewdness. Bleach and Naruto do nothing for him and I don't remember where he stands on Fairy Tail, coming to TOONAMI in the next three months.

He does love himself some SAO though.

speaking of which, i might review the rest of Clone Wars since i think i'm the only one who gives a shit

I've never seen the rest of it either besides parts of season four. I actually thought about putting it on before bed.

which naruto movie does Ino and Sakura shine so I can see proof that they are actually decent characters

specially Ino

I would say anything non-canon, but it seems like they are terrible in all situations across all universes.

This fact doesn't really bother me, as they are both insufferable.

Either ironically for how terrible it is or seriously where they have bad taste

You forgot about the people who think it has just the right level of lewdness to suit your tastes and not feel ashamed about watching it.

SAO had good music and the art was great in places. Love some of the character designs. My favorite part was how great of a hate watch it ended up being. Threads here moved rather quickly when SAO happened, to a degree not even repeated by the more popular AOT.

the thing about SAO's art is that i never felt like it had a real sense of place. i never got a picture of where i was supposed to be or what kind of world it was, it just felt like some environments strung together
