That can't be right ...

They would have to have known that the series was doing "poorly" as they were making the final arc. The series is only 24-25 episodes long, there's no way that can be the case unless they took a huge break halfway through to rework the final 5 episodes..

Anime production generally doesn't have everything planned out from the beginning. In fact, many studios finish an episode within days of it airing. Sometimes even the script isn't finalized for the following episode at that point.

The final arc of the AgK anime is complete nonsense in the context of the rest of the series. They jump many chapters ahead with no explanation and then do their own thing until the end. It's very easy to see there was some kind of strange executive meddling going on.

Gives all the fucks
She's gonna see the girl as a young Michiko & bond.

Edit: Check out that girl's melons hurhurhurhurhurhurhurhurhurhur

It baffles me that people consider Michiko and Hatchin worse than Akame Ga Kill.

You serious? Even at its worse, Michiko and Hatchin is better than Akame Ga Kill.

Considering the Toonami audience, its not surprising that there are people who greatly prefer AgK to M to H.

Its not a knock to anyone's preferences, people just like the brainless shonen mediocrity.

Yeah, if they knew they were just going to do some kind of filler end they'd probably have just skipped over the whole
priest assassination arc which they cut off half way though for filler end
and gone into a filler ending earlier

Considering how long it take to make anime and the lead times needed, I'm having a hard time believing this. This is not the sort of anime that would be doing gangbusters in ratings even if it was good and they aren't going to get data of disk sales or manga sales boosts until the show is well underway.
No idea how accurate it is. Just going off of what I've read about decisions made during its production in response to its reception.
