Crazy to think of because how clunky Emperor form looks, hahah. But yeah I remember they mention Kiva is heavy on the net movies, and I imagine it's very top heavy.

This explains so much. Lucky that Emperor form is one of my absolute favorites, then.

The SMF Legend War airs tomorrow in France. Brace for disappointment and Tommy-worship.

He did the Kinniku Buster once with Buffalo iirc.

Yeah and he landed with NO impact too. He floated back down like he was Peach in Smash Bros. Dudes legs didn't even bounce. Hell Beast didn't even squat down to sell it well. They didn't even shatter the ground to sell it. Soooooooo disappointed. I wanted him to be a power wrestler :C

After getting up to episode 39 of Jetman, I'm convinced this sentai has the best enemy names ever.

Torpedo Piranha, Ant Bazooka, Sniper Cat...

Yep, best names ever.

The Beast powerup made no sense, it was like it was designed that morning.

Somehow he transformed from a matador into a member of some royal guard. Or maybe a pharaoh. Or a flashier matador with a gun.
I didn't think about the suit's look before, and now it's giving me a headache.

at the same time haruto got infinity form which offers impervious armor to every moty until like the final boss pretty much AND Kabuto style speed.

If that wasn't enough he got a new more powerful form every movie, because.

Still pales in comparison to All-Dragon's ability to
kick the immortal Phoenix into the sun.
Anything that Infinity style could do was an afterthought.

Nah, Kung Fu master -> Beyblade still takes the cake for me. All the awesome Sakamoto-ish finishers replaced by CGI Beyblade is a tragedy.

Any TokuGAF in Thailand? Or does anybody know what this is?

The Bima producer tweets that apparently it will be produced in Thailand soon.

... Remember this scene from Gokaiger 49?

Seems PR barely changed it. VulEagle is gone, replaced with TyrannoRanger/MMPR Red, but everyone else is the same.
Meaning that we can add Fiveman to the list of "New Powers".

... When's Dino Charge coming?

The Super Megaforce finale has aired in France.

Only one Legendary Morph the entire episode. In Space Red & Silver. There's no Gokaiger vs Ackdos Gill Final Battle footage at all.
Only Tommy, Wes, and Cassie get lines during the war. The others just stand around. They might get speaking lines in the first half where they're going around rescuing people.
Robo Knight reappears with no explanation on how he survived (it was implied he died a few episodes prior). Sloppy fucking writing.
Legend War was short, mostly 199 Heroes footage with some American footage sprinkled in. It doesn't sound that special.
The Megaforce Blaster saves the day.
Tommy congratulates them, then they all teleport away with Gokaiger stock footage.
Day is saved, end series. Wait, there was no fucking Lightspeed Rescue morph!

I'm sure everybody remembers how defensive I was of Megaforce before. I... I can't defend this. I simply can't. I would be lying to myself if I did.

Please be good, Dino Charge...

Any of you who thought any part of this show would be anything but pathetic were fools for getting your hopes up.

I had a tiny bit of hope that the final battle would be something.
But no... it sounds like shit.
At least I know that when I watch the episodes in English, I will do it with nothing but apathy.

There's always Dino Charge.

Hell yeah

Sakamoto directed the last ep so it can't be too bad action wise. Unless they didn't let him direct like he usually does or something

That's what everyone said about Megaforce when Samurai was airing.

Fair point
BUT Judd Lynn is back on Dino Charge, with Tzachor kicked off production. I think Tzachor is a big reason the last four seasons turned out the way they did (he's lazy and a Sentai fanboy, not caring that there's been FIVE Sentai series featured that weren't in PR, or given a proper explanation ["not seen on this planet" is not a proper explanation])

He's not even a Sentai fanboy. He just likes doing the least amount of creative work possible.

You know what gets me the most? They had the suits with them so they could shoot this original scene. They could have used any other existing PR suit, but they went the extremely lazy route and only replaced VulEagle.

I just... I can't.

I see... The least amount of effort but with maximum profit. Haim has trained him well.

I don't think the big T is as big a Sentai fanboy as he seems. No fan of Shinkenger would take the episode scripts and remove all the character development and interesting stuff of the original story, to turn around and make the most sanitized, lifeless, static, and childish scripts in the form of Samurai episodes. No fan of Sentai would make the absolute worse and least economical choices for Sentai footage when making a 20 episode adaptation of a Sentai series. He's no fan, he's just a suit grabbing footage to make a cheap children's show.

Warning: The following video contains the entire battle. Spoilers
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=737151606339468

I get the feeling there's a lot of original material left on the cutting room floor.

Yeah, from the leaks and rumors of the shoot it seemed like they were going to have Sakamoto film a whole new Legendary War; but the final version only had like 20 seconds tops of new footage, which was noticeably of a lower budget than 199 Heroes and only involved what was essentially the Goseiger suits teaming up with Silver.

Leave it to Saban to make something that was built-up for two years to be a total wash.

The really poorly translated scripts from Samurai are really hard to listen to. Makes me wish they would at the very least give them to us -_- kids that watch these shows deserve better.

The sad part is there's a way to make near-translations work, but you should take the time to improve on what you're adapting in that case and you need to correct course when the Ranger characters diverge from their Sentai counterparts.

You can make Noah going from quiet nerd to swordsman work, but you have to write that shit in ahead of time.

Best thing about Meteor Storm was the Everybody Space movie, where he throws the beyblade away after using it to finish with a standard Rider Kick. And then Chou Climax Heroes used that as his finisher.

That Legendary Battle wasn't so legendary. I honestly feel bad for Koichi having to come back if this was all they were going to show on the aired episode.

I'm going to continue to lower my expectations until they get something done right.

It might have something to do with Marvel having a copyright on Sun Vulcan, because Toei and Marvel worked together for 3 years of Sentai, and regardless of actual production work from Marvel, they still held a copyright. Battle Fever J, Denziman, and Sun Vulcan were the 3 series they had under the agreement.

Aren't there still two episodes left after the legendary battle? I thought they would do 22 regular episodes for Super Megaforce and no Halloween and Christmas specials, wasn't that announced some time ago or is my memory screwed up?

Nah, I think the real reason is that they were too cheap/lazy to shoot new fight scenes for everyone except Red. Hence why we got original footage of pre-Zyu suits and a few them were "set up" in previous episodes. Even though they still introduced Fiveman out of nowhere.

They confirmed no Holiday specials this year. That was it.

So they're not doing the specials but are replacing them with nothing? I thought Nick ordered 22 episodes each year, has that changed? And I thought the episode count couldn't get any lower. Are we going to get 13 episode seasons soon?

Yeah, I think Megaforce is 13 episodes. They even have an air date for the last ep (October 4?) but no episode title.

No, it's 42 total.
First "season" is 22 (includes Halloween and Christmas specials)
Second "season" is 20 (no specials).

Are the Power Rangers toys still profitable? Is there anything that justifies Saban's laziness because I find some things too bizarre. Like they don't give a fuck o_o

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
A lot of people were bringing up the Sentai logo Easter Eggs in Dino Thunder as an attempt to justify their appearance in Super Megaforce. I decided to watch the DT episode in question (they were so quick I had to rewind to double-check). Yeah, that scene justifies nothing, and no amount of mental gymnastics will hide that this was lazy writing and editing.
However, watching the episode, I was stunned. It was like leagues above what Neo-Saban have been doing. I know it's Disney, but there was effort. Character moments, original fight footage (that wasn't 30 seconds long), an original villain, and competent acting. There were some dumb parts (Ethan referring to his laptop as his "LT") but that was par the course.

Even though Disney hated the show, they still tried.

I think Bandai reported that PR still does well, but not as well as Gundam or Kamen Rider.

Weird no gokaiger suits in the war?

In Power Rangers, Super Megaforce (Gokaiger) was a power up for Megaforce (Goseiger). They could have transformed midway through the battle, but the battle itself was disappointingly small anyway, mostly using footage from Gokaiger episode 1 (they didn't even include the new scenes shot for 199 Heroes, I guess they didn't bother licensing it). There likely wasn't enough time for that.

Considering how the battle ended though, they really should have thrown the footage of the Gokaiger on the ground vs Akudos there, rather than that American original footage of the Megaforce against grunts.

Just Silver.
According to people that know French, the justification was
"We don't need to go Super Mega as we're so excited to be fighting alongside the Legendary Rangers"

... Isn't contrived writing FUN?!

So I caved and watched some clips from the finale....I feel like I was asking too much when I wanted a morph from the returning rangers. *sigh*

Yeah after watching the Disney seasons this past year, I'm convinced those were a lot better.

So Dino Charge red's actor posted this video of him training with the stunt crew. I'm liking this so far.
