Congrats! I guess it's a good thing you didn't use the presale thing then since they were only selling 500 level.
It seems like they held back good seats for the public sale.

Yeah it was more expensive then those seats, but I wanted my first soccer match to be the best possible experience. I hope the stands are packed!

I am a little curious as to how they are setting up the stands for the match, since a soccer field is not nearly the same shape as a baseball field.

Srs accident on Kingston rd when I was on it this morning. Car nailed a streetcar from the rear. Streetcars behind it were backed up.

Police cruiser hit by a TTC bus near Main St and Danforth too. I think I'll stick with the subway today.

edit: Maybe it was because they had sticky fingers.
I see driver's eating and drinking all the time while driving. But it's not nearly as annoying as all the TTC staff smoking on the platforms right next to people and NO SMOKING signs

Christie bus got stuck on the incline at Davenport and had to be stalled, several dozen other cars did, too. It's really freaky hearing all those cars trying to get unstuck.

Since that wasn't happening we tried taking the Davenport bus, which was 30mins late but at least came. The nextbus report and map kept saying "5 minutes left" and showing that the bus was coming for what took 20 minutes. Then it continued its walking pace along davenport. Got to work an hour later, crazy.

I ride the 77 Swansea bus pretty often and it's been stuck a few times in snow storms over the last few years, because this region of the city (west of High Park, south of Bloor West Village) is pretty hilly and the bus has to make some very steep inclines. We actually all moved to the front of the bus before to try to help balance it when the driver asked.

I'll stick to staying at home today.

That's not fun at all!

I only had one class today around 10, but I didn't bother even LOOKING outside, so I when I left it was giving myself the usual 30minutes to get to school.

After waiting at the bus stop for a bit over an hour, with the milling crowd and realizing that I only had an hour and a bit of class left, and that by the time I GOT to school I would probably only make it for the last 15-20minutes, decided to just walk back home.

The first real snow of the season man, it's always like this.

Well, the Rogers Centre is also used as a football field for the Toronto Argonauts and Buffalo Bills.
I don't know that much about football but I'd imagine the field would be the same shape as a soccer field but just larger?
So I think this will be similar seating to the football games.

Here is a photo of Rogers Centre as it was set up for the Manchested United friendly match last year

Looks ok to me really! I'm still so jealous since I can't go to the TFC match. :(

Oh yeah it looks great actually, I guess I was just having trouble picturing it in my head.

So I guess I missed the conversation earlier about couriers but I was wondering about ordering things from US Amazon and shipping it up here, is it relatively painless?

There are taxes and import fees that I am fine with but do I have to pay anything else to the courier when they finally deliver it to me? Had that happen to me a couple of times (someone shipped stuff to me, not me buying things though) which was kind of a pain in the ass.

I've ordered many a things from the american site. For bigger stuff or more expensive stuff they usually take a deposit from you to pay any import fees, and then they refund you what they didn't use.

I honestly can't recall any problems. Got everything with decent timing, never a surprise fee, all went well. Ordered movies and stuff, and electric shaver, some other stuff.

Same with me. I've ordered several things from Amazon.com over the last few months and almost everything was delivered within a week of shipping (some only a couple days) and I never had to pay any extra fees, but I did have some refunded.

Has anyone tried buying Leafs tickets right from the ACC box office?

Not going to happen, when they do actually have tickets available on gameday they send out an e-mail to members of the last minute club and you still buy them through ticketmaster.ca

Usually the only tickets left are single seats or super expensive platinum tickets

I had no luck at the pre-sale today. I had a single seat for the February 11th game, but people want to come with me, and instead of being a jackass and buying it just for me, I ended up trying my luck and waiting a bit.

So the Toronto outdoor city workers are willing to take a 3 year wage freeze

Holyday says they can be reasonable on wages and benefits but need changes in other things

Guess we're still headed for a lockout

Finally caught a ride on the new subway car today. Pretty nice, seemingly more quiet and smooth. The new subway map that lights up will be great for people not familar with the system. There is a lack of rails to hold onto on some parts of the train, which could be an issue for some considering how open it is. Crowd reaction when it pulled up was great too. Lots if ooohhs. I guess most people haven't rode it yet.

There's at least two of them in operation now which is great because the faster they get rid of old ones the better. I hate the nasty yellowish ones.

I've been on it 3-4 times, I've seen it much more frequently lately, must have put some more into service

Yeah, I was heading downtown from Finch and saw two pass by in a row. Then coming up I got in one and saw at least another passing south. Seems like they have way more now, but still only on the YUS line.

I know there's no space for this and it's not feasible but god how much I'd love for them to tear down Skydome and build a proper baseball stadium downtown. No dome required.

Or hell at least put some money into making Skydome to make it look less gloomy. Maybe some trees or just wheel in an actual field of grass and dirt. I know none of this is possible but I like to dream.

There's only one thing the city really wants cut and it's something the union will never willingly let go, jobs for life. I just hope that if the city locks out the workers they don't go straight to the Province to have back to work legislation brought in. It was ridiculous when that happened to the postal workers. How is it right for a government to force workers not to work then force them back to work under their terms? I have no problem with back to work legislation most times when there's a strike though.

I left Sauga this morning with no snow on the ground, and by the time I got to work, it was like this.

Man, throw a color filter over that picture and it would look like any number of scenes from games or movies.

Finally, some positive political news: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...under-oath-at-appeal-of-audit/article2302092/

Mr. Ford has consistently stated that his campaign abided by all relevant laws and procedures. While he has said in the past that he would welcome an audit of his campaign’s books, he has turned to the courts to fight the compliance audit order. His office will not comment on the court proceedings.

Violations of the act can result in a range of penalties, from fines to removal from office.

One time I was in A&C (the spot near Spadina & Bloor that sells games) games and said something about GAF and everyone in there had no clue. This was in my GAF-infancy.

You guys play dumb very well.

I couldn't even read the whole thing. That's utterly horrifying, the poor man... I hope those people go to a special kind of hell. It makes me sick that the woman is out on bail.
