Is the job market for full-time salaried jobs garbage in Toronto or is it just me/my field? (Communications/PR)

Lots of interviews but I constantly get told that they loved me but it went to an internal candidate. I'm so tired of this. Can't build a future on constantly hustling for freelance.
You using a company to help you? Also try the non profits?

Started job hunting in November and I'm having some trouble too. I had a bunch of contract gigs as a business analyst (in IT projects) with the government and then with RBC in Vancouver. Moved here after my contract finished and got a couple interviews - one with Deloitte consulting - but not having much luck otherwise.

I was in Toronto for 4 days and I hate the TTC. Stuck underground in a non-moving subway without service for an hour on the way to the airport, service broke down and now I'm cabbing -.-
How DARE you criticize the TTC! It's "World Class".
Yeah someone jumped in front of a train at Oss... Something.
Probably thought he/she could get to the next stop faster.

Anyways, parting thoughts on your time here? Not enough Generic Asians? Too many Kave_Mans? Just enough minorities?

What did you end up doing/eating and where did you end up going? Anything you wish you would've done?

still a Crapnucks fan?

I would bang a hot farmer!
All those dudes hanging around outside the Lux Burlesque theater.

Like, just masturbate at home.
No internet in the 50's. Hell, even porn movies had to be watched on projectors and were difficult to buy. That means you had to go out to the peep shows if you wanted something more than just magazines.

Congrats! Especially considering you were the only photo that wasn't one of an orgasming city hall.

Congrats on the contest results, jokkir! Love the new batch of photos you just posted, as well. The shot "2spooky" has such nice highlights on the branches... I love how it creates a sort of halo around the actual light itself.

Congrats!

Well deserved :)

Right on. I voted for you. (Sincerely, too. I thought yours was best. :p)

Thank you guys :) It was my first real "contest" and actually winning something is really rewarding since I only started taking photos a few months ago.

@soultron Thank you! I might retake the photo again when it's raining and foggy out again. I think the image quality could be better so I'll try it again whenever the right conditions are out :)

@Sober Hahaha. I actually had a few pictures of the fireworks and thought one of it was better than the one they chose in the end. But I suppose not having a fireworks picture made it more unique in the end. This is the photo I'm talking about:

Well done, Jokkir. Were there any specific (online) resources you used to get a start in photography? I've got a Nikon DSLR in a drawer somewhere that I barely understand how to turn on.

Yikes

Same-sex marriage harms free speech, new Ontario judge wrote in 2012

A law professor named an Ontario judge this week wrote two years ago for a conservative, U.S.-based institute that the legalization of same-sex marriage in Canada has harmed religious freedom and free speech, and led to the “indoctrination” of children in public schools.

I just used YouTube and looked at tutorials whenever I needed explanations or inspiration. A few examples with be the Mike Browne YouTube channel and the DigitalRev YouTube channel. The latter is more of a fun-ish way to know about cameras and is more fun than actual information but the way its structured made learning more enjoyable. Plus, their Pro Photographer, Cheap Camera series is pretty great. If you ever have any doubts about the quality of your camera, those videos will definitely get you inspired and teach you that you don't need a great camera at all to get great photos -- just a creative mind.

I also frequent Reddit's Photography subreddit. They're pretty friendly to beginners and lots of resources for you to look at. The users there even created a photography class here: http://www.r-photoclass.com/

Anyway, I think my biggest tips would be learn composition and just take photos. A lot of it will look crap but it will get better over time.

Kinda OT but might as well mention it here for the lurkers/posters. I won 2 raffles for the Jordan 11 Legend Blues size 9.5 and I'm selling them both, if anyone is interested PM me.

My issues with it are less about whether it's a good logo, and more that it clearly looks ripped off Brooklyn's logo, and it's definitely worse than the previous logo, which is great.
