Wasn't that supposed to get fixed with one of the patches?

The loading times were decreased on both versions with a patch, but the PS3 version came out on top in the end. It's definitely the better version between the two, especially after they got rid of the stuttering.

Since I see the franchise will have an actual future in the West, I'll triple dip on FC for Vita and follow along with the future releases. This was a good surprise to wake up to!

I...I can't say i won't double dip and get both versions. I did the same with Sora for both PC and PSP. Very excited!

I think a problem with how people are looking at this is treating it more like skipping Two Towers in Lord of the Rings, or multiple volumes of the Wheel of Time (although that sounds like the RIGHT move arguably) when its probably more like reading Discworld out of order. Or to use a gaming based comparison, they're treating this as if it were missing episodes in a Telltale series or Mass Effect when its really more like Suikoden or perhaps Dragon Age, where you'll benefit from having played other installments but can appreciate them alone.

I can see skipping to, say, Cold Steel II or Ao/Azure being an issue though and more like the former, but they're avoiding that.

Lots of people saying "they shouldn't have skipped this" or "they should have localized this first". Why don't we just wait for Cold Steel to be released first, play it, and then complain if XSEED's decision (which was also Falcom's decision) was wrong.

I think we should even be thankful that we'll get a slightly different perspective than the ones who played the Zero/Ao first.

I'm just glad that ToCS is so far along that they want it out in the year. I honestly still don't have a Vita or PS3, but this is pretty much going to seal the deal for one (probably a Vita, portable is more convenient at the moment).

I mainly just hope that TitS:SC can come before Cold Steel. I need to get back to the story with Estelle and co. !

They said on their blog that their plan is to have second chapter out before cold steel

So wildly excited for this game. And the fact that they've confirmed 2 is coming (probably around same time next year) and that SC is almost upon us (I hope) is too much. I kinda want Vita version, but I'll probably get the PS3 version no doubt.

Any chance of XSEED making a special CE with both PS3 and Vita versions included?

Kinda like Japan's "Omochidashi Pack" that some companies have tried where its a physical version of the PS3 and a DL code for the Vita.

I dont recall if there has ever been one that was like a physical / physical release though.

Would be cool if it was done for the West too though.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
OMG 2015? I am legit shocked. Very happy to be wrong and to have the pleasure of playing two Trails in the same year.

I was slightly bummed about Sen being dub only, but then:

" Question: After all you announced yesterday, do you have anything else to announce at E3 or were all the bombs unloaded yesterday?

All I'll say is, we've revealed almost everything at this point.

Almost."

Never played a Trails game, but I will probably try it out for Vita. But I'm pretty unsure because the only Falcom game I have played before was Ys Memories of Celceta which I havn't enjoyed that much :/

Trails and Ys are at two opposite ends of the narrative and gameplay spectrum, so not liking Ys literally says nothing about whether you'd like a Trails game. I will highly suggest that you try out Trails in the sky on your vita, however. Great turn based RPG.

Knew it was all too good to be true. Game without japanese voice track won't get my cash, so sadly have to skip it and wait on it.

English dub isn't that bad people....especially when we don't even know who is voicing who yet.
Its a little exasperating to see that hangup ruining it for people when we REALLY need this stuff supported. Would be nice if Falcom took it under consideration for international release in the future though.

Hm, I really want to play these on Vita. Is it bad? Any other significant difference between both versions? Thanks.

People skipping a game because of english voices will never cease to amaze me. Especially with a franchise in dire need of support to make more releases happen. You guys should be proud of yourselves.

^^^ part of the problem, should know better than most, rinse, repeat

Didn't really understand what you meant.

Japanese voices are not something we negotiate on in 2015, it should be a standard by now, but that's just me. There might be chances to play it with original voices in the future so I don't want to play the inferior version.

Exactly, it's sad to see that be so much of a turn off for people that it automatically means no sale. People have been asking for these games for a while now and when they finally make the announcement for them, something like this will completely ruin it for some. How about this, stop asking for these games if you aren't committed to it whether or not it has a certain feature.

This is why we can't have nice things.

And you solve that problem by skipping the game. Makes sense. Win-win situation if I ever saw one.

I guess you didn't read my previous post where I said I was still buying the game, but would be undubbing it so I can played it my preferred way. I don't want to play Dragon Age or Mass Effect with Japanese voices, and I don't want to play JRPGs with English voices.

Maybe you can life with a mediocre dub but for me its a deal breaker. I just cant stand US dubs for Japanese jrpg and yes even if it means that there will no future releaeses i still wont buy it.

I own both versions and play both, thanks to the cross save feature, but I prefer the vita version and play it 90% of the time because it is portable and I like the touchscreen map feature: it is really convenient in dungeons. PS3 version looks a bit sharper, but that is the only difference I really notice. After the last patch the Vita loads are pretty fast.

The only chance you're going to get is importing the original version. If they can't license the voices now, I doubt they could in the future. This has been a recurring issue with Falcom games, and I wouldn't expect it to change anytime soon.

I personally would prefer everything being dual audio, but skipping the game entirely seems silly to me. If it bothers you that much, you could turn off the voices and put on youtube videos of the Japanese cutscenes while you played, or something.

I have both also and as mentioned patches helped improve the Vita, plus the upside is being able to turn it off when you want thanks to the suspend feature.

Its an issue I always have with the PS3. So only can play on the PS3 when I know I have large chunks of time. D:

The cross-save is a great feature though and the main reason as to why I have both vers.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Not everyone cares about the voices, and I think the people who don't will enjoy the game a lot.
I'm not everyone and my stance probably won't have much impact on the sales of this game? Just venting cause I'm frustrated that this kind of stuff is still happening in 2015. The game has beyond godly japanese voice actors (Goddamn Horie Yui) which for I would have solely bought the game even if the gameplay and story wasn't great too.
For me, the english dub cannot never compare thus my reaction. I know the game will be great nevertheless for most of the people.

Who knows, maybe there will be "Asian" release of the game with english text and japanese voices one day, or an PC release in the future, one thing I know for sure that I'll be there Day 0 if such thing arises.

Come on man, the undub for this game is absolute garbage. Just look at the cast, they've even got Yui Horie on there. There's no way the dub is going to be worse than that garbage.

Well this thread took a turn for the worse :(

I would've liked JP audio as an option too if possible, but I'm taking what I can get for this series.

Kiseki needs all the damn support it can get over here so this page is very depressing

Why should i support something that i dont like? If i would buy it i would send them a message that they could go away with it not having japanese dub.

Kiseki are generally not fully voiced, and Sen isn't either.

I think only the Evolution remakes are 'full voice'.

Remember, everyone, Trails FC was dub only too, it was just that you only ever heard the dub voices in battle and on the victory screen.

XSEED can't get the rights to the voices, they would do dual if they could.
