Transformers: Fall of Cybertron |OT| Me Grimlock no bozo! Me KING!

I actually watched the movie again about a week ago. It's the most obvious display of product placement, but the animation is ace. Hot Rod and Kup fighting underwater is awesome.

Transformers is a great Base for Gaming Companies.

They made the tv show to sell the toys.

Made the movie to kill off old toys and introduce new toys (Optimus/Ultra Magnus/Etc)

It backfired and fans demanded not only prime back but even starscream.. (galvatron I thin was well recieved)

Games.. lets kill Front Mission Strategy games, make it a third person shooter, etc etc etc..

Fuck you Corporations..

super epic nostalgia bomb *__*

..the rush of it almost did my head in..i actually thought he said "grim fine look behind..you look wrong way you fool i say"

The second guy messed up the quote. It's actually "You go wrong way, you fool I say."

As much as I love Transformers, I can't bring myself to pay full price for the PC version without a retail release. I need something I can hold in my hands.

I will wait for this one to get cheaper, but I loved the first game. My ass is ready to receive grimlock.

"Look at the monitors! You must help stop these disasters."
"Uh, me Grimlock not care whole planet fall apart. Make no difference to me Grimlock."
"With you on it?"
"Hmm, hadn't thought of that."

There's no retail release for the PC version? Uh, I hope the mp won't be as barren as in tge first game...

Quick question. How long is Cliffjumper's campaign and about how long do you play as him?

This game looks awesome by the way. Best Transformers game ever made? I love how the single player campaign is varied and not repetitive.

One chapter, under an hour.

And yeah, it's the best Transformers game made so far.

I am amazed at how good this game is and how fun it is to play. We finally have a truly quality offering for the franchise.

Hail to the last Prime!

I couldn't hold on any longer and decided to watch the end credits for the game to see what they did for this one. No, no, zero storyline stuff in there so I'm still 100% clean.

TEARS OF JOY MY FRIENDS. TEARS OF JOY.

Just played a team deathmatch game and one escalation. The lag in the TDM was pretty bad, but I guess I can blame me being in Japan for that. The Escalation was ok, smooth as butter.
I was able to be on top in both games, but sadly we were totally owned in the TDM. I guess I'll try again once the servers fill up a bit, since I was waiting for 5 minutes for the second TDM game and it never happened.
Don't regret buying this game at full price at all.

Beat it in one sitting, took me about several hours. It's not often I do that anymore. Fun game, Falls' campaign was about the same length as War's (8 hours). In some ways Fall is better than War, in some ways it's worse. I kinda miss being able to choose who you play through a mission as but the character and weapon upgrade system sorta makes up for it. I found the heavily scripted beginning of the game kinda offputting and thought the deviations from straight up shooting sections, stealth and escort, were kind of a mixed bag. Overall though I enjoyed Fall about as much as I did War, a fun trip through cartoon memory lane. I may keep the game installed to replay missions on higher difficulties and go for the collectibles and upgrades I missed. Don't know if I'll bother with the coop or multiplayer modes.

Fun game, the Grimlock parts were badass.

Why are people so surprised about no co-op in story?

Co-Op stories only work when you have characters in place to make it work. This game generally focuses on a stronger single-player, per-bot experiences. Stage design in general seems to benefit from it rather well. It actually makes me respect them for not just tossing out more of the same, buy building something more refined and focused.

I like the uniqueness of each bot, so far. It's a much better reflection on the bot's personalities, than just lumping them all into "Run & Gun" X infinity.

Looking forward to getting back to it later, stopped right as I got to grapple around with Jazz...

I loved War and I love this one.

Easily the best part of this game though is the final level. Gerstmann was raving about it and I agree, if anyone does a "final level" category in games this year it should be a contender.

so how's the pc version? is there controller support?

Runs great. There is controller support, but it doesn't seem to work properly in menus. Any menu in which you have to confirm something after you've made a change still requires the mouse to click on that option. You can't seem to exit out of the weapon upgrade menu without using the mouse either.

Most of the way through the game, now. I am taking my time looking for audio logs (for some reason I really like Sideswipe's audio log about the Ark).

The game is good, but the bigger a fan of Transformers you are, the better the game gets. I am sure I am missing references, but the number of them in the game are fantastic.

I admit to being annoyed with Shockwave's voice. This is somewhat tempered by the fact that he's an amazing badass.

The VA doing Jazz did a good attempt at it. Grimlock isn't the same VA, is it? If not he did a great job.

What I'm really curious about though are easter eggs/gags in the game. I've seen two so far.

In one of the secret rooms, or rather rooms not directly in the path it wants you to go, there's a standard lever to pull to open it. When you try and pull this one, though, it transforms into a robot and starts to dance. Eventually he stops and the doors open.

In the mission where Megatron is revived, if you look behind him and to the right you'll see an Autobot running as if on a treadmill trying to not fall off and die. He never stops running.

The game also pleases me with how mature it is. Dead Autobot heads lined up was somewhat surprising, but I applaud them.

According to the game guide, that's..

Up to chapter 4 now in the game, and am enjoying it so far. I am a bit saddened that the co-op campaign is not in this game, but that does not make it a bad thing. Glad I decided to get it for 360 was almost going to get it for PS3. Just glad that there is actually a good Transformers game out there for fans now.

Doesn't really look like he does later, though, and he's way too big given the distance.

Willing to believe it, of course, just due to the dead bodies and the coloring / size, looked like an Autobot.

Despite co-op campaign being lost, I am ADORING the SP levels so far. Every stage that I've experienced so has been better than the WFC stages bar one. No where near as frustrating as the previous game on solo-hard either.

MP...well, it's not as refined as the previous game and a whole lot dumbed down, but their version of Conquest is still a blast, so there's that.

Escalation...played once. The lack of wide character choices and being limited to a selection of four per map is kind of a huge bummer. :(

Select the "campaign" from the main menu, highlight any chapter with Prime and select "change skin/character/something". Don't remember the exact name of the option. Noticed it after clearing the game...

is there any kind of upgrade system in SP or multiplayer only?

There are permanent perks you can buy that apply to all characters across the entire campaign, and you can actually upgrade weapons more extensively in SP than in MP. Megatron's Riot Cannon when maxed out is basically God Mode.

I LOVED the first one.

Lack of coop is just dumb. Wtf high moon. If it wasn't in the first game I'd be fine but this feels like a HUGE step back.

No single player might be a turn off for some people, but I can definitely see some places in the Campaign which just wouldn't have been possible with WFC style co op. The campaign is pretty damn good in using game play for a story telling perspective. My one dissapointment is the lack of boss battles. WFC had some pretty awesome boss fights, and there were a lot of them. I just finished chapter 10 and i haven't seen anything resembling a real boss fight.

I just wish they'd focused on making escalation better in the place of co-op. If anything it feels like a step back. Admittedly i've only played one game, but not being able to choose your character, just class, is pretty sad. And its damn easy. I never beat WFC's escalation. I managed to beat FOC's escalation my first time, with a random matchmaking group.
