XXL size.

maybe i'm reaching but the green ears on the drawing sort of look like they could be green ear muffs, like the kind a maintenance worker/landscaper would wear.

It could be a real foreshadowing, but it could also be exactly what Marty was saying at the start of the series. By attaching assumptions onto a piece of evidence, you start to draw conclusions which you want to see! :)

I don't think you're reaching at all. I completely missed that, but I did get the impression there was more to the lawn mower guy (and I got the impression that Rust thought so as well given his reluctance to go back to the car)

I think it would be a little too cliche for an HBO show though. The idea that they were interviewing the guy but got distracted at exactly the wrong moment by some goose chase. What was the context for that file shot? Was it the suspect or just random persons of interest related to the case?

You know, I've seen a writer named Thomas Ligotti mentioned here and in some interviews a few times, so I decided to Google him.

...

I am never reading any of his work. That shit sounds fucking bleak.

Ha, In a show like this, I feel if the answer is that obvious...chances are it's not the right one.

If they had aired it tonight they would have a large dip in viewers. Why would they want that?
Um, how about recognizing that people DVR shows and watch them later? Or watch via HBO GO. Seems silly to skip a week because of what others are showing. Hell, TWD returns next week and will undoubtedly pull huge numbers. Should HBO wait another week?

Uh, the superbowl rakes in a lot more viewers than The Walking Dead. That isn't a mean comment towards TWD either, the superbowl is equivalent to a American holiday that can be accessed through TV.

Not disagreeing with you. Honestly I record the 11pm showing because my wife and I have other things recording at 9. The Super Bowl wasn't going to change my viewing habit but I know that's not the same for everyone.

Why did they show Girls yesterday but skip True Detective for a whole week?

I think it's re-airing tonight. Is Girls one of those shows that has storylines that continue from one episode to the next? I guess that could have something to do with it. Or maybe because it's a half hour comedy? The real answer is I have no clue.

i really didn't like ep 1 whatsoever, but e2 and e3 were amazing. the intro is probably my favourite since BoB.

I may be totally wrong but one of the photos they showed whilst rust was looking at the file looked an awful lot like Marty's wife....

i noticed this too...

How can you not like Ep. 1?! I was riveted by that one.

"Maybe you should start asking the right fucking questions."
