all jokes aside, what policies are you guys actually against that trump is proposing?

You mean other than everything?

I think the Internet and its immediacy has ruined our ability to conceptualize change over time and remember the not so distant past. This Trump thing and the idea he's likely to win the nomination is going to cause crow to go extinct.

I'm willing to eat mine if you're willing to eat yours. I'm planning on making the convention threads and if Trump loses I'll eat my crow in the OP of the GOP one.

I like his proposal to bomb the shit out of ISIS and then swoop in and take all the oil like it's Ocean's Eleven.

We'll be done in weeks and then it's all good.

How about all of them?

Why don't you tell us which ones you support?

I don't know man, I kind of agree with his stance on making America great again

.....but not too great

just great enough that we can call ourselves "great" but not great enough that we get all cocky in our greatness and fuck everything up. Trump is the man to bring some balance to our search for greatness.

Immigration, Second Amendment rights, less funding of Education, Health Care, Taxes...I do agree with him on Marijuana...there might be a few other things, but I do not remember.

All jokes aside, other than the immigration stuff, the majority of the positions he's claimed to have are bullshit that he made up to pander, and he seems to switch them around as necessary.
He's gone from:

"Very pro-choice" -> Abortion is wrong. Shut down planned parenthood.
Single player, Universal Healthcare -> I don't even know. He's just said he'll repeal Obamacare.
We need to be very careful with our military adventures because they "create new legions of people who would like to avenge the deaths of family members or fellow citizens". -> "I'll bomb the shit out of ISIS"
Supported an assault weapons ban and a longer waiting period to purchase a firearm -> 2ND AMENDMENT GOAT!!!
We need to accept Syrian refugees -> "They're a trojan horse" for terrorism.
"We’re losing badly the war on drugs. You have to legalize drugs to win that war" and then use the tax money to fund education -> Against Marijuana legalization other than for medical purposes.
etc.

We're all getting played like a damn fiddle. Or rather a damn electric harp.

Trump has the same exact appeal that Berlusconi had. He's a clown, sexist, corrupt and rich asshole, and we had him for almost 20 years.

Prepare yourself america. You're gonna have AT LEAST 3 Trump terms, cause while he's at it, he'll rewrite the constitution "to make america great again".

Trump belongs in his own circle "European right wing populist". It's one of the big reasons that he has proven so popular. establishment Republicans have turned off white working class voters with their constant siding with big business and the rich. Trump, though a billionaire, has painted himself as a defender of the working class, securer of the border. Its why he's run over establishment republicans who are mostly Romney clones.

Anything on immigration or foreign policy really?

i live in miami and hispanic. The vast majority of ppl here agree that we should have tougher borders. There is a path to legal imagration which ppl wait a long time for here for their families. Deportation of 11 million illegals is not realistic, but they do think its not fair for ppl that do it the right way getting less attention than the 11 million

Can't believe people say he's so moderate. Name one moderate stance he currently holds and I'll show you 15 that are hardcore. He's talking about building a deportation force to get 11 million illegal immigrants out.

This chart makes no sense to me. Is there a missing vertical axis?

What the hell does he really believe in? Himself?

It's like playing the lottery with your vote. You don't know what you're actually getting but what could go wrong?

Just wait for him to come out of his primary cocoon. I expect a moderate on most positions while staying firm against illegal immigration, though we shall see.

Romney couldn't even recover from "self-deportation."

Not a chance Trump can come back from "murderers and rapists."

That's the thing though. He can't blatantly flip flop. Romney essentially dodged the questions on issues like that. Hillary is doing the same. Jeb used to be doing the same until Trump wrecked that strategy. That allows you room to maneuver for the general. Trump doesn't have that. So I'm wondering what his strategy is going to be. Continue with the current train for the most part and focus on getting his current base to come to the polls to just out match Hillary through stronger enthusiasm, or crash his old campaign, go moderate, and attempt to build a new campaign from the ashes.
I half think he doesn't care about anything beyond the primary.

If Trump wins - and I think these recent terror attacks unfortunately help his toxic rhetoric - then the world may as well throw in the towel.

Surprise motherfucker.

Also from Miami and Hispanic. Doesn't mean you're right, or more importantly, speak for any particular group as a whole.

It's a Venn diagram.

What is silly though is that the libertarian get a circle all for himself. Perhaps in other elections there are more libertarians, but like this it looks like you could just draw 4 circles and have 2 outsiders.

Its more about how Trump has no ideology, but exists out somewhere near the tea party but not really. He seriously doesn't fall nicely into any of those categories.

I worry about this. Everyone thought Trump would be done in a month. Not only is he basically going to get 45% of the vote no matter what, there are actually people who say things like, "I might vote for Sanders, Trump, or Carson." Even if they voted Democrat in the past, people really like outsiders for the sake of being outsiders. This crosses party lines.

Edit: In addition, the dude is just entertaining. That attracts a lot of votes. I'd actually watch a nonscripted sitcom with him. "The Donald!" This fall!

His Presidency would be like an unscripted sitcom so all you need to do to make that happen is vote for him!

Americans love to vote for personalities. That's why Carson never had a chance.

Carson is top 2 partially because of his personality. I still don't get it myself but I see no reason to lie to myself about how other people are responding to his low key full crazy approach.

But then you couldn't have Trump as the sole person excluded, nevermind that he's not that far from Cruz/Carson in terms of positions or base of support.

What personality? If Carson is number two because of his personality, is number three a particularly handsome plank of balsa wood?

Let me guess. Cuban?

Trump will get creamed in a general election. One of the big reasons Obama won in 2012 was women and Hispanics. So of course the gop would nominate someone who is even worse in those areas.

To name one his tax proposals for the upper bracket. When I first heard them I thought it was fair but after closer inspection it's an unnecessary net gain for large businesses because the minimum taxes most will have to pay is to the foreign countries they're operating in. If I as a consumer can absorb foreign taxes on my purchases as will as import fees these companies with a larger percentage of this country's wealth can afford to pay taxes there and here.

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
Ted Cruz has zero chance. Even people who agree with his crazy bullshit think he has an exceptionally dislikeable face, voice and manner.

Well, Walker proved that can be overcome.

Technically, it's an Euler Diagram. Venn Diagrams must have all possible combinations of sets represented.

Trump will bring out those "missing white voters" to compensate.

If they existed, they would have come out the moment a black dude was running on the other side. They don't exist. Trump's schtick works when he can pander to the relatively vocal minority of crazy right wing nuts on the primary circuit, but that shit won't fly in a general election.

all jokes aside, what policies are you guys actually against that trump is proposing?

When a candidate's actual response to expand on policy issues is "I will be so good at that, your head will spin," and then offering zero specifics, it makes me question their intelligence in that particular area. I've spun some bullshit in my day, so I know the signs when it's clear that someone has NO idea what on Earth they're talking about; Trump has that about basically everything. Tax policy, foreign policy, military spending, the logistics of rounding up and exporting millions of undocumented immigrants; it's all complete horseshit backed up by zero facts and nonsensical rhetoric about how he's "the best." Yeah, he's going to kick all the Mexicans out and then have them build a wall AND pay for it to keep all their rapists on that side... are you fucking kidding me? How anyone can take that bloviating gasbag seriously is beyond me.

Donald Trump is like a real life Frosty the Snowman, but he was built in the yard of the kid with the leaky septic tank (which gives the snow such an enchanting orange hue), and they couldn't find a top hat, so they put an enchanted merkin on him, and he came to life, called them all losers and burned their house down to build a casino (which immediately went bankrupt). Truly a Christmas story everyone can enjoy.

Trump whenever questioned about any real, concrete issues sounds like somebody who is completely unprepared for a job interview, or like a high school student who has to give an oral book report but forgot to read the book. It's amazing that people buy that shit, but for a lot of idiot voters that are the type to support him, ignorance has become a virtue. He's an "outsider" not one of them pesky "intellectual" types!

What would Cruz even do if he was the VP and Trump doesn't go along with any socially conservative policy as president?

I bet Trump win's the white vote and the white house ! You will then sell millions and millions of illegal immigrants be deported back where they came from, including Syrian refugees who could be ISIS.

This graph is Polygon levels of weird. The circles that don't intersect aren't mutually exclusive, and differences in position are arbitrary.

Ahh, a midseason addition. I don't think it would do well despite the strong lead in.

Trump presents some problems for Republicans:

1. If he wins a lot of delegates and is denied the nomination then the Republicans will be seen as the anti-democratic party and guaranteeing their doom.

2. The only way to beat Trump is to make this a two person race. However, Trump is the serious candidate and everyone else is the flavor of the month. The Republicans have tried to promote Bush, Rubio, and Fiorina but neither of them can gain enough traction. The Republicans need to settle on one challenger to Trump because without a clear alternative then it becomes harder.

Either way I vote Green Party and just chill.

I was reading a thing yesterday where party leaders were talking about Paris finally being the end of Trump, but I laughed because I knew this shit would happen.

Trump cannot be killed.

Trump cannot be stopped.

He's running the classiest and most luxurious campaign in the GOP primary.

Trump vs Hillary 2016 confirmed.
I'm not entirely sure I want him representing me. He needs continue to carry the big stick but learn how to speak softly. Otherwise US won't have a good relationship with the rest of the world.
