You have to have some major hatred in your heart to be asked about "what would you most like to see happen in 2017" and unprompted get some racist fucking tirade about the Obama's. Racism has to be coursing through your veins 24/7 for that to be your answer.

But if we do want to get stuff done, stuff like this doesn't help and just leads to people yelling at each other and remaining angry at each other, for some very understandable reasons, but still. The point is it doesn't actually make anyone happy or change anything at all, so either way I don't get the point in calling people out like this. Either let them speak for themselves, or let their silence on such matters speak for itself if you will, but don't do stuff like this. Of course, there's the shame approach, but when you call people out any shame or regret they might feel turns into anger instead, so that kinda defeats the point, so it just doesn't seem to be good in any way.

Like had been brought up in this thread, it's totally understandable to hate Trump and everything he stands for which as someone who's bisexual is a feeling I know only too well. But no matter how justified those feelings may be, we can't let them consume us and make us lash out in ways that don't even benefit ourselves or make us feel better in any way. I don't know, I'm really bad at this if you couldn't tell. xD But nonetheless, I don't like seeing stuff like this regardless of who does it.

You're right, it's not particularly productive, and I don't expect them to respond, but it does reinforce what I already know. These folks damn near always become ghosts when it's downright impossible for them to actually play some kind of devils advocate. If it was a different forum, one less well moderated, we might just get that hot take of theirs.

Conservatives claim that liberals are too sensitive when it comes to humor but I greatly disagree. Our favorite comedians are not PC at all. Look at Carlin, Louie CK, etc. They aren't PC in the slightest. It's just that their humor comes from a decent place. This guy's joke wasn't funny; it was completely tasteless and humorless. And that's the difference.

This. We allow this when it's not met swiftly with revulsion and punishment. Yet these same people get to say these things, deliver non-apologies, and remain in or regain power they had. If open racism isn't ok, then our country would be collectively sickened at who we have in power and the white supremacists slowly becoming normalized. Yet we treat it as a minor itch instead of a fatal sickness that destroys lives and robs the humanity and dignity of fellow Americans.

Not only that, but ironically it's always the converstives that get sensitive when they hear:

- "Black Lives Matter"
- "Happy Holidays"
- Anything that suggests a less than perfect US History
- Anyrhing in Arabic
- Anything in Spanish

They also claim to love free speech, then will immediately bitch about seeing a flag being burned.

Trump should at the very least admonish a man holding up a Make America Great Again sign when he's making horribly awful racist comments about the First Lady.

Even if Trump doesn't really have a problem with it himself, the office of the President-Elect needs to make it clear that racism is not tolerable in his cabinet.

If even just for the appearance of things.

To say nothing in response speaks volumes about Trump's own racist feelings.
