Trump will ask for investigation into alleged voter fraud

So Trump does the investigation, and on the small chance he finds voter fraud, but every instance voted for him multiple times. What will he do then? Pretend nothing was found and that voter fraud isn't actually an issue? That sounds like him.
Announce that there was fraud and institute new voter suppression laws

Well, I guess this is better than him saying he wasn't going to.

I know this will be ridiculed, but the naive side of hopes that this will actually be a fair investigation.

So if I've moved and registered again to vote in the state I currently live in my vote could be thrown out?

Generally the board of elections from your old state should automatically remove you from the voter list once you've registered in another state. It's not illegal to be registered in different states but you should be voting based on your primary residence and it is of course super illegal to vote twice in different states.

I'm of two minds on this and it really depends on how stupid Trump really is.

1) Him losing the popular vote, like most everything, really got under his skin. And he is such and incredibly child-like petty man that he can't let it go even though he is only doing himself harm by not letting it go. For the record this is the one i'm leaning for because he has shown to be such a petty manchild on so many other things.

2) this is a long con scheme to somehow propose his dictatorship rule in 4 years because elections would be rigged against him. Now this scenario could still happen even if it starts out being just the first one. The million dollar question is by then will America be so brainwashed and apathetic to just let it happen?

This is probably just his smokescreen about the fact that some of his russian connections is getting to light. All this does is to create some sort of diversionary tactic to split the media coverage and investigation efforts to some of his possible criminal shit he did before getting elected.

It's both.

Hasn't even been a week and he's spending an assload of tax payer money on the stupidest shit.

Worst part is that this is how he keeps engaged otherwise he'll be too bored to actually govern effectively.

Lines up with Kobach's documents.

So I guess I should check to see if I was removed in the two states I was previously registered in.

It's definitely #1. The scary thing is Republicans will use this to enact #2.

#1 for Trump
#2 for GOP, though I expect them to dump Trump as soon as he's no longer useful to them.

Wasn't it Trump who asked for his supporters to "vote twice if necessary"?

My grandfather more or less did this. My now deceased grandmother was not in a lucid state, but my grandfather submitted a ballot for her anyway. I thought about reporting him, but I doubt anything would come of it since she was alive at the time the election was held. He lives in North Carolina, which makes it worse.

The thing that really made me angry though is that my Grandmother, were she of sound mind, would NEVER approve of a man like Trump for president. She would have been disgusted by him.

you guys are being played,

he is doing this smoke & mirrors show so he can enact more discrimatory voter supression measures

The President doesn't control voting laws. States do.

This is just President Snowflake being butt hurt because he didn't win the popular vote. The House and/or Senate would be the ones doing the investigation and i highly doubt senior leadership will want to touch this issue with a 10 foot pole.

there are more Republican Governors than Dems,
Trump will allow each of these States to get away with it

You thought about reporting your own grandpa? Savage.

I'm hoping he's just doing this to get out of the hole he's digging for himself, by the time a report comes out it will be old news.

The crazy thing though is he was insisting on the voter fraud (of 3-5 million) BEFORE he ever launched any investigation. If you don't have facts and numbers or evidence, there's still no proof and the number is merely pulled from the infinite black void of his ass.

Which is typical, of course. Though like most, I see this as merely a ploy to implement voter ID laws. I remember quite clearly his criticisms of "certain districts" he wanted his volunteer polling monitors to be on the look-out for...

Man he's playing the country for fools and everyone is buying in. This is all about Voter suppression. I said it yesterday and will say it again. This is all about instituting voter suppression laws at a federal level.

It's not his ego or intelligence. I see someone mentioning he seems obsessed and thinks this in private, but we only know what they tell us, and it's calculated. By presenting it the way they have his delusional followers lap it up and the people who are aware are too busy thinking he's a big baby to do anything until they realize they cannot vote because they fall under one of the new restrictions.

I hate the phrase but if there has ever been a wake up sheeple moment this is it, this country's being played and people are too busy laughing at the Cheeto in charge to actually prepare to fight what they are telegraphing is coming.

I guess if we connect all the dots this explains why Kellyanne Conway has already talked about the next eight years like it's a certainty.

Fuck you if you voted for Trump.

I feel like he is sprinting towards dictatorship so fast it makes you sound like a conspiracy theorist to point it out. Troubling times.

I think it has more to do with the amount of people who attended his inauguration. Deep down he probably knows that not a lot of people attended. It explains why he put up that photo in the press hall and had Spicer yell at the press. He is insecure and petty.
He is probably doing mental gymnastics about the whole ordeal and is now telling himself that millions of fraudulent votes occurred.

At this point I'm in favor of the democratic party just filibustering his supreme Court nominations indefinitely.

The President finding "evidence" to support increased voter suppression (which is what this actually is, note he didn't say anything in those tweets about anybody who actually voted, just known clerical errors in who is registered) will have a massive impact on Republican efforts in their state legislatures to more aggressively limit voting rights.

Just because the President can't sign on the dotted line doesn't mean he can't have a huge impact on state level policy.

This increasingly feels like something they're going to lie about and use to create voter suppression laws.

Yep. They'll cling to any little thing that they find and turn it into a voter suppression law. People were saying in another thread that it would happen in the next two years. It's not even taking a week for the ball to start rolling on it. Amazing.

I agree. It was good enough for the other side when Obama was in charge and I don't have faith in a trump pick putting interpretation of the law and precedent over party politics.

As if he needs a proven reason to restrict voter laws.

Yeah I mean let's all be honest here, the GOP was going to introduce voter suppression laws regardless of this. In fact I'd say that ridiculous false claims like this that aren't true actually makes them more likely to get caught doing so, because the White House conducts a fake investigation and someone's gonna leak that shit.

Didn't he win by something as low as 70k votes in some states?

He is saying 3 - 5 million voted illegally, I hope this backfires on him and we find out Hillary ended up winning the EC too along with the popular vote.

He doesn't care about *those* states because he won them. He's going to target blue states that just happen to be full of non-white people who dared to vote for Hillary.

The damage this man is going to do to the country and it's people over the next 4 to 8 years is going to be truly staggering.

Considering that the White House is now making up facts this is very scary, as more than likely they will make up shit about California and New York letting illegals vote without any real evidence and commence punitive measures.

Here we go, Trump's first witch hunt. It's based on nothing more than misfiring synapses in his syphilitic brain, but his toadies will manage to find enough to justify new voter fraud laws that make it harder for minorities to vote.
