Just saw S3.01, and it rocked. It didn't leave any bad tastes in my mouth like the last one and it started off with most of the horrible stuff not mentioned, and everyone doing new stuff.

But still, fuck
Tim and Lyla together
.

Jason forever!

I'm loving the new situation for
Saricen
. He's my favorite character and this storyline is building on his past (insecurity, his heart, etc etc).

That episode definitely did good things for me.

S2 did get alot better towards the second half, but, well, they were still mucking it up with crap.

Cant wait to see the rest and watch the finale live on Friday.

VOOK

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.

You can't watchthis on Hulu but Underbelly is pretty good for an Aussie drama. It is based on recent organised crime activity and is a pretty close representation of the real thing. The courts even had it banned from playing in the state where all the shit went down so as to not influence the cases on trial.

Don't recommend people that show >_> Ugh

AlternativeUlster

Absolutely pathetic part deux

watched Clerks TAS. man that was terrible. not a single decent episode in the bunch.

also watched the pilot of the Sopranos. Wasn't that impressed by it, maybe it picks up later. I'm gonna keep watching anyway

The 2nd episode flashback was so awesome back in the day. I haven't seen this in a couple of years though.

Just finished the 4th episode of FNL. Really enjoying it so far.

While the football angle is probably my least favourite thing about the show, I still find myself enjoying in it as the show does such a good job. I'm loving the cast with the Taylors and Matt probably being my favourite out of the bunch.

I'm really interested to see the direction
Tyra is heading. I've read some things (by accident) about her character dramatically changing throughout the show and I'm kinda excited to see that.

Oh boy, S1 of FNL is pretty much pitch perfect. And Matt Sarecin is my favorite character too.

:lol Did I not tell you this is how you'd probably react to S2? Dont worry, all your fears will subside in S3, which is even better than S1.

So, I've started watching Better Off Ted and Cupid

I'm loving Ted. For all the Arrested Development fanatics on this board, you should try this show. Portia de Rossi is on the show and it's one of those quirky comedies. Airs on ABC at 8:30 Wednesdays. You can watch the first 3 episodes at their website. Unfortunately, the company commercials are removed from the online viewing which are always hilarious.

Cupid I'm not sure about. I like everyone but the main guy so far but it's only been one episode. It makes me want to watch the original show with Jeremy Piven, though. This is also on ABC at 10 on Tuesdays.

so all you FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS aficionados, have you seen the film? how is that? worth checking out?

somehow after getting attached to coach taylor i can't imagine liking the film's coach, especially since i'm sort of anti-billy bob thornton.

Find the original series. They never released it on home video, but it's up on Youtube (and elsewhere). Well worth it.

Yeah, I'm going to wait until the new one is at least done airing the first season which probably will only be what we get.

I watched a few episodes of FNL S2 this weekend. Think I'm through 2.8 now.
Landry just confessed and got pulled out of the station by his dad when he was "making it difficult on himself." I was watching over at my sister's place, and she got home during the scene where Saracen and Carlotta are in bed. She looked and the screen and asked "Are you watching softcore porn?"

Btw, S2 has been settling down a bit at this point. I'm digging it.

yeah, it definitely got MUCH better in the second half. it's like the real writers came back from lunch and realized the scribes from NIP/TUCK had written the first half of the season's scripts.

I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday, and he had given up on FNL during S2. I told him to keep watching because S3 is a lot better, so you folks better be right about that. :D

The film was pretty awesome when it came out, but after watching the show, you never really feel the same attachment to the characters. Definitely watch it, but I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't like it post-TV series

Also, the book is really good, and talks a lot more about the zeitgeist than the actual games

edit: as for the thread, I've been watching Daria all the way through, and started Summer Heights High. After reading some comments, I think I'm going to watch Season 1 of FNL again. Oh, and I'm on Season 3 of Nip/Tuck.

I just finished the first two seasons of The Sopranos and it's quite good despite my general disinterest in mafia stories.

After I finish The Sopranos I'll move on to Battlestar Galactica. Those are the two series I'm catching up on this year. Last year I did The X-Files, The Larry Sanders Show and The Wire (which I'd seen a couple seasons of, but rewatched everything and the rest). Probably be able to fit another old series in this year too.
Did you just watch the "Not Just the Best Of" set of Larry Sanders? I've always heard good things about the show, but not being able to watch the entire thing puts me off.

The "best of" set was my only exposure to the show and at the end I felt pretty satisfied by this condensed version of the series. If full seasons come out down the road, I'd probably invest the time to watch those as well, but don't avoid the available DVDs just because. There are some truly fantastic extras on 'em, too, and that's coming from someone who won't generally waste time on little featurettes, retrospectives and whatnot.

I got bored so i clicked onto hulu (which i never use) and then randomly picked out a page number from the "alltime most popular" and then randomly picked a number and found that video and said whatever it is I'm going to watch it..

Random chance has given me Arrested development a show i have no real interest in watching but have heard a ton about. Here goes then....

No. It starts out weird but it gets alot better. And there's still plently of pump-your-fists and cry-your-eyes out moments.

Just finished the second to last episode of S3 (Underdogs I think).

Oh man, they lost! :(

I'm leaving the finale left so I can watch it live on Friday.

I really have to say, S3 has been beyond amazing.
I'm still kinda ehh on Tim/Lyla, but I like Tim now. I just wished Jason/Lyla would have been the endgame. My favorite characters Matt/Julie are back together and I've been loving it. Landry and Tyra are rocking it etc etc.

I'm just wondering, they're gonna lose the majority of the cast, right? I mean, most of them are seniors at this point. I cant bear to lose Matt, and then have
Julie, or him either act like tards and cheat on each other while he's in college.
I love love love Matt and don't look forward to him maybe not being on. Same to a lesser extent for the rest of the seniors.

At this point, FNL is my #2 show, knocking Chuck to 3 (and it's closer to LOST than Chuck was). I cant wait to watch S4 and 5 with the rest of you guys.

gdt, not sure if you want to read this, but the only characters getting written out in s4 (same way as SEASON 3 SPOILER
Street and Smash
), are
Tyra and Lyla

I can deal with that. The former hurts more than the latter. Awesome awesome AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm actually tearing up that I get to spend two more years with these characters, (again, especially Matt and Julie, Coach and Wife, and a few others.

I just hope that with two more seasons they don't
break up Matt and Julie again.
Though if done well and not for stupid reasons like in S2, I can take it. With an eventual reunion though of course :D .

started season 3 last night. the first ten minutes were jarring as hell, for obvious reasons to anyone who's familiar with it.

There are some bad subplots and lolworthy stuff, but they hardly make it skippable. It is still a very good season based of Mr and Mrs Coach stories alone, as well as some fantastic episodes and moments.

A couple notes....

- Breaking Bad continues to impress this season. Those of you who haven't seen it yet should give it a shot. We're still only 12(?) episodes into the series, so it wouldn't take much to catch up. The writing, acting, and production are top notch. It's the best thing I'm currently watching.

- Chuck turned in an epic episode last night, and Season 2 has been fantastic. My favorite tv show right now - it's a lot of fun and I look forward to it more than anything else.

- One show that didn't avoid the S2 sophomore slump is Damages. The finale was enjoyable and tied off a lot of loose ends, but this season has been a disappointment compared to S1. I hope they regroup and put together a better plan for next year. (By the way, I'd still recommend S1 to people that are looking for something to watch.)

Yes sir. Where Lost has been going all over the place this year in quality, Chuck has been kicking ass weekly. Its been far better than Lost this year.

2008-2009 TV season for my three favorite shows:
FNL S3 > Chuck S2 > LOST S5. The gap between FNL and Chuck is very small, almost negiligible, but the gap between Chuck and Lost is fairly sizable.

I skipped it and thought everything still makes sense in S3. Now it's harder to motivate myself getting the S2 dvds from the US.

I think i've said this before somewhere, but I really don't think Tyra and Lyla need a Street/Smash treatment, we already know where they're going. The only reason Street/ Smash had to be written out the way they were was because S2 apparently ended abruptly because of the writers' strike. I hope if they do come back that it would be mid or towards the end of the season, when they're on holiday and it makes sense for them to come home. As good as they were, the Street and Smash send offs took up a chunk of story time in S3 that could have gone to develop new characters like the McCoys or Landry's
lesbian
friend a bit better. And that should be the priority in S4 as well, they need to give the time to the
new kids in the Lions
.

Saricen and Julie
apparently get to stay together. But what's he gonna do?

Awesome awesome finale. Cant wait till the next season. When is that coming BTW?

If they follow the same schedule as season 3, it should air on DirectTV in October and NBC in January.

I'm watching s1 right now and it's definitely impressive. Bryan Cranston is awesome and between this and Malcolm in the Middle, he's proven to be one of the better actors out there.

I'm hopeful that next season will deal with Matt coming to terms with moving on. It kind of came across as a weak ploy to keep him on the show on first viewing,
but his decision to stay soon sank in as a realistic spur of the moment reaction. I don't think it will stick.
If it does, i trust they'll deal with his decision thoughtfully and in a believable manner.

Saracen and the Taylor's have always been the heart of the show imo. I think it is good that they'll keep him around.
