Twin Peaks Season 3 OT |25 Years Later...It Is Happening Again

Do we know if Julee Cruise is back for this? Just wondering with all the new musicians, not that I'm complaining.

Yeah, it's cool, I do get it. Good to know you didn't have a problem with them, but I know people who couldn't stand those scenes in the original already so it's not surprising it's alienating people now. Some do work better than others (though for me personally it's the difference between loving and liking them) so if the sheer quantity is too much for you I can totally imagine disliking some of them. I'm just trying to express my personal enjoyment of them here. Because yeah, I'm very pleased they've been so prevalent myself. Sorry. :p

Maybe the finale? I'm certain she'll return. I find it hard to believe that Psych can get her to do a rendition of their theme song for the Dual Spires episodes, but she won't appear in this season.

Cool. Yeah, my dad loves Twin Peaks and loves Lynch (calls him a genius and everything), but he actually walked out during the
Michael Cera
scene because he couldn't take it anymore!

Edit: D'oh! Just missed the Julee Cruise post above.

She's on the cast list.

The bar stuff is actually pretty funny. I wish I could pop to my local and catch Nine Inch Nails or Eddie Vedder while I sink a tequila.

The first two episodes really felt like they had purpose, setting lots of events in motion. So I'm not worried about the series as a whole lacking direction. Part 3
felt to me like it had a lot of filler that didn't move the story forwards, and maybe is a victim of the extended order, but given that lots of you guys seem like it, maybe I'm being harsh on it, but beyond Cooper getting out of the lodge, it didn't feel like nearly as much happened.

Part 4
felt like it got things moving again, but some of the storylines still feel like they're on the shelf. Like Jacoby, the Hornes, James and Shelley's friend and whatever is going on with Bill. But that's also part of this whole thing not having been written as episodic TV, because there's no guarantee that we'll check in with every plot every week.

I'm incredibly excited to be here reading speculation and reactions to new Twin Peaks. That there's debate and so much differing opinion on what moments are good or bad, or funny or sad... or you know... it's amazing.

Aww... I thought that particular scene was very Twin Peaks, it's definitely one of the ones I loved.
Frank Truman's reaction was priceless.
Oh well.

I'd never leave the bar that was like that. Haha.

Yeah, I'm not sure my vital organs would have made it into my twenties.

Can I say how much I love that they are back to real location shooting and not stuck in a warehouse? Gives the locations a sense of authenticity only felt in the Pilot and FWWM.

Is there a version of episodes 1 and 2 that are separate or is there only the version that consists of both in one? They rolled together rather seamlessly so I couldnt tell if they were separate episodes or not.

I'm really surprised you felt that way about Part 3, I actually think Part 3 has a plethora of clues and connections for things going forward. There's a lot of small things that happens, and you may notice things
that happen in Part 3 are related to what The Giant says at the very start of the series to 'remember'. Plus there's things in Part 3 that tie very deeply into the TP lore and expand it more than any other episode. It also builds up a few things I bet we will see later with Dugh's life. The first 20 minutes also have several pieces of imagery that hold a lot of loaded meaning, one of them I'm convinced is a clue to one of the loose things from the first episode. The casino scene maybe goes on longer than it needs to though.

Okay, I watched Part 1 & 2.

This looks like it was filmed 25 years ago. I can't describe it properly. Nah, I can't find the right words.

It's David Lynch right there. The whole package.

I want more.

Theory about The Arm:
People have noted that the arm now looks like a circulatory system. At one point in the season two finale, The Giant and The Arm once said that they were the same. Could that circulatory system be growing into The Giant (Who is currently credited as '?????????')?

Episode 4 was amazing. Definitely my favorite so far,
solid balance between absolutely hilarious stuff (Wally!), creepy shit and Lynch madness. Poor Cooper, though :(

I also really like the ending songs. It's such a weird idea, but I definitely wouldn't mind if every episode ended like this. What was the song during ep4's credits, btw?

Two weeks. Goddamn it.

I mean, while I'm not sure I fully believe the theory,
one piece of evidence I could think of is as I recall The Man From Another Place and The Giant switch places on and off in the final episode of Season 2.

Just finished episode 4, Wally's line about his shadow was deadpan comedy gold.

Feels like the show is picking up steam, can't wait till episode 5.

Yeah I notice they filmed in Washington state. The external shot of the sheriff's station looked like reused footage from the original series to me though.

What if the Cooper in the lodge is actually the bad one? The real Cooper is just pretending that he is the bad one because he wants to wear a leather jacket.

Definitely not reused. That's new footage of the sheriff's station. I'm not positive but they may also be using the interior of the actual building for the interior scenes as well.

Only clear reused footage I noticed (outside of flashbacks) was the shots inside the school (hallway and picture cabinet).

I'd like to use this opportunity to coin Shoop. It stands for Shadow Coop.

A midlife crisis huh? I'll accept your theory. But consider this: Looop (Lodge Coop) is trying to prevent this fashion disaster. It's a morally gray sort of thing.

Watched the first two episodes. Loved every single fucking second of it. The guy still has it!!!!

Oh, and that was one hell of a boner killer in the first episode.

Watched the first two episodes. Certainly feels like Twin Peaks. A bit too much jumping between totally different scenes though.

I think they are. I noticed that at some point through the years they must have removed the second set of doors, since the insurance guy enters directly from outside.

David Lynch´s trademark long-cuts really don´t respect your time and I love it. It´s hilarious how ridiculous they are.

Been reading some reviews and in a comment section, someone mentions the spooky man in the prison cell scene could be The Log Lady's husband. Interesting idea - didn't he die in a fire?

The best part of the revival is

Episode 4

Naomi Watts' big production secret she couldn't tell anyone for years was that Coop has a giant pee scene.
