Ubisoft launches live blog to address AC Unity issues, next update detailed

Good news, everyone!

All of my :lols

For all the shit thrown at Ubisoft, if they didnt make their yearly Assasins Creed, there would be tons of layoffs.

And at least their supposed patch wont affect Metacritic, whenever they release it.

When did Yves get balls the size of the moon?

They released two ACs on the same day. They could have made Rogue cross gen and given Unity another year, making just as much money, and not damaging the IP and their own reputation so heavily.

I've always enjoyed these games. A lot. Especially the meta game stuff they have been throwing in lately... But this Nomad Brotherhood stuff in the companion app... Do you have to get to a certain point in the story for it to work, or is it just broken too? Furthermore, did they rip the fun meta game stuff out of the actual game and lock it into a broken app? And the priority is fixing the pay us more money bullshit?

I've let Ubi get away with a lot, they make fun games! But jesus christ, guys. I'm about to pick up my torch and join the angry mob.

i dont understand the big deal. People who are enjoying the game are paying more and not getting what they paid for, why wouldnt they fix that first? Not everyone cares about frame rate or pop-in.

Edit: yeah, i cant find that on their page. Either way, i would be fine with that

Guy's I don't think that's real. I was looking on their various facebook posts, and I can't find it... unless they deleted it.

Seems like their first attempt to transition to next-gen only hasn't been the best one could hope for, to put it mildly. This went from a "excited for an AC title for the first time in 4 years" to a "big maybe when it has been fixed and is on a sale" for me. Unoptimised mess is something I would expect more from smaller devs but not from a gigant like ubi that should have the resources needed to prevent something like this.

Sorry, but that is not impressive.

I think it looks good. Not reveal trailer good but still good.

Umm...are you being serious? Everyone paid for the game, and no one is enjoying it. Anyone saying they haven't run into any issues are likely undercover Ubi employees.
I can see it now, "Oh wait guys, when you spend $99.99 on Helix Credits with the season passs installed, the frame rate stops dropping! Simple fix."

Edit:
I wonder if they removed that FB post to save the speck of face they have left.

stopped reading there...youre just being fucking ridiculous.

These issues did not catch them by surprise, they KNEW of these issues before game was released. Hell, they KNEW many many months ago that these issues wouldn't be fixed in time for launch.

They should have released Rogue this year and finished Unity and released it next year... instead they tried to rush the game out AND double dip people's wallets on the same day.

It is games like this and BF4 which make me miss the ps2 days where there was no patching and developers actually had to finish the game and make sure it is working properly before releasing it.

Why are you so set on defending this game? Have you seen the videos going around? The complaints? I literally cannot do a co-op mission without the game breaking on me. I've experienced SEVERE FPS drops (especially finding the assassins guild), and I keep on losing my ability to attack stuff so I'm constantly dying, if Arno isn't falling through the damn street.
THE GAME IS BROKEN.

Makes me miss the PS2 days and well... many days and years before then.

Totally agree. In fact, I'd much rather have the chance to be playing a new-gen Rogue right now.

For me, Unity has been a double-whammy of bad things: [1] I miss the naval combat & sense of exploration and [2] the game itself is far too broken.

Zombie, whats the OG source for this image..? Even though it does say as a bullet point "HELIX CREDITS" on the liveblog... can;'t find it.

Googled that message and found this thread on the official Ubisoft forums.
http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...een-robbed?p=10333482&viewfull=1#post10333482

The post originally said PS4 only, but has since been edited to say "All consoles".

So it looks like that Facebook post was real and was most likely removed.

The issue was some people who bought Helix Credits didn't get them; of course they would fix that first. Why are people against it? Don't you all oppose anti-consumerism?

Sorry, but that is not impressive.

Maybe the compression makes it harder for those without a good eye for graphics to notice?

As I mentioned I'm not able to use great AA that would make it look crazy good. Nor am I using ultra textures.
I'm not the only one to say it's amazing looking. It's not so much sparkles like Killer Instinct but nice colours and lighting.

Another quick clip of a random area:

Not to mention the detail they go into and the extra immersion with all the NPCs (when they aren't glitching bad).

I'm playing it on my PS4...doesn't blow me away at all. I still think being out on the sea in Black Flag looked a lot better than France covered with thousands of identical popping in/out NPCs clipping through walls/floor. The only time this game REALLY shines is during the co-op, when it works.

I think customers would have been more understanding of the issues with AC:U if they had just communicated them openly on their Steam Greenlight page.

Are 3 unique gifs really necessary in one post? You didn't even say anything, Asgaro.

Anyway, Ubisoft is on my shit list. I will never pre order a game from them again.

In addition, we are already looking into many of the other issues you’ve told us about

You had to be TOLD about the fucking framerate? :lol. No one at Ubisoft has eyes, confirmed.

ETA on frame-rate patch?

I'd say at least a week, but probably closer to a month.

Please look forward to Assassin's Creed Unity: Definitive Edition on a PS5 and Xbox 10 near you.
