Sensitivity in a modern sense is woke nonsense, but there is a use when performed correctly. This release date is a good example, as well as the half-a-torii gate in the figurine. Ubisoft is filled with incompetence. This is just another example of something to laugh at. Like sideshow Bob repeatedly stepping on rakes in the Simpsons.

They were simply scared of the release window, and there really is a complete meat grinder there, and they moved the date to a calmer month. There will actually be a release - Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune, which, frankly, interests me much more than this one. Therefore, in my case, this move did not help them much

I mean, if this outrage is coming from western outlets/influencers, you've got a point. If it's coming from Japanese gamers themselves though, I wouldn't be so quick to discount it.

From my limited understanding, the sarin gas attacks had a significant and lingering cultural impact, especially in regards to a mistrust of foreign religions (and possibly foreign cultural influences in general). It wouldn't be the equivalent of releasing on 9/11 in the States (that would probably be 3/11 in Japan), but it could be seen as just one more blunder.

IMO, it's facepalm-worthy at worst, but I'm not Japanese.
