His combinations were great. Jabs followed by kicks, hooks off of jabs... GSP did everything but knock the guy out. Not even mad that he didn't because he fought in a way that he was never truly exposed to Koscheck.

I was entertained. GSP might have been able to finish it on the feet but he sure as hell would have finished it via GnP if he had a successful take down. Some elbows and hammerfists to the eye would have been brutal though...

hopefully he moves up to 185, no real interesting fights left for gsp at 170, shields would be a joke fight, if he couldn't finish shields then i give up on the guy, the only guy truley deserving of a fight at 170 would be fitch if he gets passed bj penn in australia, that would put fitch at like a 7 fight win streak after losing his first title fight.

Georges is the most risk-adverse fighter at his level. I can't see him willing to take on the top of the 185 food chain when he's going to be significantly undersized.

Which I can agree with you on,its part of the "sanitizing" of MMA. If you enjoy that sort of thing then great but its not like I'm paying to go watch that or hail it as a great event. I said it before the fight began that this would be the most boring fight of the night and it was.

GSP dominates every fight he is in. Period. He made BJ Penn quit. Which is more humiliating then submitting or knocking him out. I would rather see GSP put on a striking clinic for five rounds then get his ass completely kicked for four and win by a fluky submission at the last second to a bum like Anderson.

Masterful performance by GSP. Fuck the "he didn't finish him" argument. Doesn't apply here. Just because GSP made it look that easy doesn't mean he should have abandoned his gamplan in favor of reckless head hunting. Ask Chael what happens when you get sloppy, force a finish, and gift wrap a fight you had won.

With that said, the reactionary talking point will be that GSP is the best pound for pound. False. That's still Spider's crown and I don't think Dana will have a choice but to settle it for real AFTER Spider murders Belfort.

I really don't see why GSP has to be taken risks. He is so above every opponent that he doesn't need to. No one has pushed him in order for him to take risks. He could have pulled an Anderson Silva and danced around but he continued to punish and attack for the entire fight and his opponent couldn't do anything to stop it.

I never saw any hooks off of jabs, and almost all of his leg kicks either whiffed or were checked. 95% of his offense was single shot jabs. It's not hard to fight a perfect fight when your opponent is a wrestler who has decided not to wrestle and who has no idea how to properly protect his head.

How is GSP vs. Shields not a worthwhile fight? Shields has won FIFTEEN straight with eight finishes, including decisions over Okami, Condit, and Henderson. What the hell does he have to do?
