Guess I can make my picks official so I can once again look like a fool after the event is over.
St. Pierre vs. Koscheck
- There isn't a single area that Kos has the advantage. Standing, grappling, cardio, he's severely outclassed in all. He has the proverbial punchers chance that every MMA fighter has, but that's it. St. Pierre by submission, probably round 3.
McCorkle vs. Struve
- McCorkle has made a career out of fighting folks that are more blob then man, folks who couldn't stand under their own power after getting taken down. He's never fought someone of Struve's caliber (and that isn't saying much) so I think he's going to get taken apart here. TKO round 1 for Struve.
Miller vs. Olivera
- Outside of the main event, this is the fight I'm most interested in. Olivera has all the makings of a future champ but we haven't seen him get really pushed yet. Jim Miller is a gritty as fuck dude who will turn this into a real scrap so we can see what Olivera is really made of. I think he can do it, probably a decision though.
Stevenson vs. Danzig
- Stevenson by meat power.
Alves vs. Howard
- Howard thinks he is a better striker then he actually is. He'll try to stand with Alves and get the ever loving shit kicked out of his legs before getting TKO'd. One thing though is that no matter how bad Howard is getting smashed, he always pulls a miracle out of his ass for the win, so that could happen here.
Bocek vs. Hazelett
- I don't know who to pick for this... it's Boceks very technical orthodox jiu-jitsu versus Hazeletts crazy whacky submissions out of nowhere style. I think Bocek is too solid to get caught and since this is Hazeletts first time cutting to 155 so I think he might have gas tank issues. Bocek by decision.
Doerkson vs. Miller
- I'd love to see Doerkson get the win but I think Miller can outwork him here for a decision win.
Almeida vs. Grant
- Grant is a tough dude but he always relies on being the better grappler to pull out his wins, that isn't the case here. Almeida through what will likely be a boring decision fight.
Don't know enough about the other fights to make any real picks.

I was kinda hoping Doerksen would win that one not b/c he deserved it but as punishment for the takedown --> weak GNP strategy. Damage was probably about even, Doerksen threatened wmore with subs, but Dan dominated position pretty much. Disappointing fight but unsurprising since Doerksen is pretty tough.
