You're gonna stop it on an arm punch with one second to go? Good call, guys.

The rules state you need to intelligently defend yourself. Browne was turning away and turtling up. He was done. Delaying a legit finish because of the clock is just as stupid as the idea of calling/not calling a foul because of the time left on the clock in any other sport. A finish is a finish and Browne was finished.

If you're gonna stop it on that trash why not just stop it when Cain was actually doing damage?

For the record, I hate both fighters. Don't care who won. I agree that Cain was likely to end up winning. Just a dumb way to end it.

Exactly. Had the guy actually bothered to intelligently defend himself and show signs of doing anything but shitting himself then it would have been a bad stoppage but he wasn't. It was good no ifs ands or buts.

It's no more or less dumb than if it had been stopped ten seconds earlier. Why does the time on the clock matter when the stoppage was clear?

Can someone explain what a interim title is?

Would be cool if Silva has one last Silva kind of knockout moment for the win and rides off into the sunset.

He ain't going anywhere. You gotta hand it to Anderson, he used to claim that he was bored and wanted a challenge when he was unstoppable. Now that he's well past his prime he's got his challenge and is walking the walk. It sucks to see him a shell of his former self, but he's proven it wasn't all talk. Hespect.

Edit: just disregard the PED stuff tho lol k thnx.

When your champion is injured or unavailable for a period of time, they put a temporary belt on someone else so they can have a unification fight down the line, or if the title holder vacates the title.

In this case it's because McGregor is pursuing heavier weight classes and is engaged in a rivalry with Nate Diaz.

It's basically a fancy #1 contender.

Ususally used when the actual champ is not available to fight IE: Aldo pulled out of the first McGreggor fight so when he fought Mendez for the Interim title.

It basically means they are a paper champ and whomever wins it is in line to fight the "actual" champ.

Champ is injured/away for whatever reason so they create another belt for the division so they don't have to strip the title from the champion and can keep promoting title fights. Then they face the actual champion to unify the titles.
