My PS5 hardlocked completely after I paused astrobot ten minutes in. Had to pull power lead. Shit myself. Rebuilt database and bin fine all day playing miles morales. I was downloading in the background 3 games maybe that was it.

You have to go across to the trophy part. But I left mine in rest mode for a bit and then pressed create on the tile and it downloaded the PS5 update.
Also ubisoft connect did work but was a few hours behind my actual save so I just copied to cloud and downloaded it again

Yeah one I got is 1.25gbs.
The fact there is no difference in PS4 games played internally/externally on it means the PS5 when played internally cant take full advantage of its 5.5gbs. Good for us who want more memory

Are people units almost completely silent?
Mine has mild coil whine. I'm gonna give it a week see if it disappears. Its does have it in rest mode so it is an issue as it stands.

Not on me. I'll do it tomorrow . Its louder than my Series X, which is pretty much silent. But apparently it can disappear so I'll give it a week. I am doing some heavy downloading etc, putting it through its paces.
Not overly worried because I can return for any reason if I need to but it is mild and hoping it will go. I'll defo post a video tomorrow though

Just spoke to Amazon they will exchange my unit as soon as it's back in stock. If the problem persists in a month they will put me to the front of whatever que. I have up to January 31st to return it. So I won't be without a Playstation for long.

Just had a marketplace seller on Amazon UK list a brand new PS5 (full fat) for £433.04 inc delivery.
Managed to bag it - arriving next week.
I assume as it is Amazon, I am safe from scams? Only 1 feedback, which was from last month.

The only thing mentioned was that the condition was new - it was listed under the main Amazon listing with no description.

Astrobot froze on me for 10 seconds and took me to an error screen, then after submitting an error report to Sony went back to the homescreen. Was able to pick up where it crashed and no problems since.

Hah no sorry, ain't that lucky. The only PS5 game included is watchdog legions. The rest are PS4 games.
wow at the consoles going missing esp if its Amazon that place has ridiculous security it is one quick way to get nicked for the most part. The swapping the ps5 for something else scam sounds similar to one they just busted in Spain which involved iPhones, you've prob got better odds robbing a bank than trying to rip off the bezos-borg.

Mostly enjoying it when it works, but I'm getting a ton of software issues. Problems updating the firmware, problems patching a game, problems copying a game, problems IN a game. I cleared most of Astro then after installing the update it wouldn't even boot, so now I'm totally re-installing. Demon's Souls eventually loaded up and then hardlocked as soon as I did anything in the game. At one point it told me I had the downloadable version and that it needed to switch to the disc edition.
So yeah, not smooth, expected a little more when it's already been out a week. But Astro was awesome when I did get to play, the controller is bananas. Might get a bit much when you just want to grind a game out, so I'm glad you can turn it all off, but for the initial go-around it's gonna be cool seeing what studios like Guerilla and Naughty Dog do with that tech.

the email i got from Currys yesterday about my 8am order said id get it by 15th December. i just checked the website and it says dispatched. although i havent had an email.
