Oh my god, what a disaster. Between this and the Comey hearing, the 8th of June marks the total meltdown of the Anglo-Saxon world. Just embarrassing.

So what you lot don't know is that I posted a thread on the private forum of Lib Dem Voice at the start of the campaign postulating on a hung parliament, because I thought it was possible.

These numbers were my internal projection since 15 days ago!

No one voted for Corbyn. They voted for Labours policies.

Not an expert in UK politics, but wasn't it Corbyn who greatly influenced Labours' left swing in policies? So if people vote for his policies rather than his person, isn't that still voting for him?

The Tories needed 326 to get a majority, but that backfired and they lost seats so now they will need to reach across the aisle to make decisions. So while they still lead, they can't ram through whatever they want (I take it)
Essentially.

Their options to be cunts are limited by the other parties unless we get clegg'd again.

I'm a stupid American with little understanding of the UK political system. What happened? Everyone seems to be in better spirits than complete and utter despair which is strange and unusual and it's scaring me but like in a good way.

Aye! Biggest worry now is Scotland fucking itself from the point of view of letting in Tories. I'm convinced that is how it will go down. Too many Labour to SNP converts in 2015 going back to Labour or going Conservative.

Well, if this holds, gonna have to see if it was the cons or Labour (unlikely) that nicked your seats. Rejig your message for next time and you'll be back on it.

For the GLORIOUS SNP LABOUR COALITION

This is fucking amazing.

I booked tomorrow off work even when everyone was expecting a landslide. This is going to be box office through the night. Superb.

Kudos to YouGov and Survation for their polls being significantly closer to the predicted result.

At least May will soon have time to catch up on some sleep.

Not gonna lie, I quite like Ruth. I think she could potentially enact some positive change for the conservatives. Probably not enough to get me to vote for them but certainly much better than any of their previous leaders.
My only exposure to Ruth is during the Brexit campaign, and I really liked her there (she campaigned for Remain, of course).

Nope. I personally don't want him to be the leader. I do like his policies.

I don't believe SNP have lost as many seats as the exit polls would suggest,

I don't believe the Tories would have lost so many seats in England and gained so many in Scotland,

I don't believe Labour would have gained so many seats from the Tories.

I'd personally love a "coalition of chaos" but I'm just not believing the exit polls.

If the projected results are true the ruling Tory party gave up a majority in parliament to try and crush the opposition who were perceived as very weak.

Now no party can really form a proper government, and chaos will reign.

Exit polls show Labour 266, LD 16 and SNP 34 that makes 316 total. They can't form a three-way coalition, right? They will pull from indies I guess.

Dumb American gaijin here.

Is the meltdown happening in here a good or bad thing for you UK guys?

Good. Conservatives were expected to take a massive majority. It's currently predicted they've lost enough seats that they can't form a government by themselves.

What? This is great! The Tories are hopefully going to be shafted and we'll see the back of May. There is still actually the skim chance we'll get a genuine socialist as prime minister.
