Looks like Labour haven't done as well as the exit poll in Sunderland either...

Ermm.. are we getting screwed by exit poll hope again?

For us today it means three things.

1. Theresa may called this election thinking that she would GROW the Conservative majority and thought it would be a good way to silence critics. Loosing seats and not even getting a majority kinda puts a hole i that idea, and at most she will be really fucking embarrased.

2. Conservatives being generally the most right wing, forming a coalition would mean softening the blow of her policies.

3. It shows that there is a definate anti tory voice in this country.

Thanks for this detailed post!

One question I'd like to ask is why would May need to resign? Won't she retain her seat in parliament or does she not have one? If she resigns, she will have no role in government whatsoever?

This one is just sloppy. Chelsea didn't win the league cos of that slip, Man City did. So Corbyn being Chelsea doean't make sense.

(spot the LFC fan)

But Ba got the ball! the ball is number ten, the PM post. The league doesn't even come into it!

Eh, it's pretty sloppy.

So Tories are cannibalising UKIP as expected. Labour not doing as well as exit poll suggests, however as stated earlier these are safe Labour seats.

if Leeds United is up to Real Madrid and gets behind 0:4 in the first leg but somehow manages to get a draw thats a huge win for Leeds United dont you think?

It's more like Leeds going down 2-0 in this, the first leg, but getting 2 or 3 Madrid stars sent off (thus losing out on the second leg), and Madrid also pick up some injuries. The second leg is the next GE unfortunately.

I've a vague knowledge of UK politics but how does the Northern Irish Parliment fit in? Sky mentioned something but then said nada

Constituencies don't see uniform swings. Comparing the exit poll to non-marginal seats is silly. The Conservatives still have reasonable odds to get a majority, but this is not evidence of that.

So with the talk of exit poll being a bit off - but it can't be considerably more off than it was last time on current trends can it? Which isn't good news for the Tories in having many more than now.

People saying this is bad for labour, but are you not underestimating how the UKIP vote has folded into Tory?

There was always going to be gains in that respect?

For the foreigners that want to make sense of the election, the hbomberguy video is a somewhat oversimplified (and evidently biased), but decent attempt at telling people how we got to this point.

shouldnt have left corbo's numbers with the genpop back during the coup attempt out, tho.

DUP could form an unofficial coalition with the Tories if they'd enough MPs. They'd basically agree to vote along their lines and support a minority government.

Sinn Fein MPs have never taken their seats in Parliament as they don't want to pledge their allegiance to the Queen

Nor will they ever.
