Oh if I only this was happening next year. Have fun voting :(

I'm still gonna do the whole 'stay up 'til result comes through' thing.

I am guessing you will be 18 next year. I think that it should be that if you will be 18 within the first two years of a new pmt then you should have a say in it and be able to vote.

In 2005 I missed out by a month and was fuming. I might have been 17 but I was more informed then most voters having studied it at school for the last two years.

Anyways just woke up and now have my supplies ready and gearing up for no sleep till whenever.

I had the delight of hearing my significant other's father say that voting LibDem is the way as throwing away your vote.

Good grief.

Voted a couple of hours ago, Labour. Really hope David Drew Is reelected and saves Stroud from Carmichael.

Just had a quick nap to prepare for tonight. I have a lesson at 8.50am tomorrow, but me and some friends are pulling a drink fuelled all nighter. Tomorrow will be fun.

I missed it by precisely 26 days, and wasn't really bothered by it. I considered myself uninformed, as I couldn't make definitive conclusions on policy areas having not got clued up on them enough. My standard of proof is perhaps too high.

Well there you go, just voted. This is the second general election in which I've voted, plus I've voted in some local elections, and this was by far the busiest election I've seen. I had to queue outside for the first time, not for long but I still think its significant. I think turnout will easily be the biggest since 1997.

I must say there were a lot of Respect people outside with a couple of Conservertives and Lib Dems but don't think I saw anyone from Labour, very strange...

Bought a couple of cans of Guinness, will veg out tonight as the results come in. Anyone watching that alternative election programme on channel 4?

Polling day shock - our local Lib Dem councillor isn't running, and they didn't find a replacement. So I had to vote Labour there, as the choice was Tory or BNP.

Quick phone call to the mother - who was friends with the previous councillor - and the suggestion was made that I apply to be the Lib Dem candidate next year. As this neighbourhood is traditionally Lib Dem and I've lived here 25 years since birth... might even be feasible.

Did you see the bit the Daily Show did on the elections last week? Stewart's face at seeing the BBC's virtual election displays was priceless :lol

Ive been scouting around 4oD for this and I cant find it. Does anyone know which episode it was?

As i posted earlier i'll be watching the C4 show, can't miss a chance to see 3 of my favourite TV personalities doing what they do best.
But streaming the BBC on the PC, most likely silenced.

I think Labour are going to do worse than expected, the Lib Dems better.

How the increase in the Lib Dem vote plays-out will decide if the Tories get 300+

(hung parliament, Lib/Lab)
. Did you just pull those numbers out of your arse, or do you have anything to back them up?

Edit: Actually, high turnout is usually good for Labour, isn't it?

So who might lose their seats? Going by the BBC Jacqui Smith and Ed Balls could be in trouble.

I think Ed Balls will be this election's Portillo moment.

Here's hoping ...

John Bercow in Buckingham will be interesting, sympathy for Farage will sweep him into office plus who will the labour and lib dems voters go for.

Almost forgot about our mate Keith Vaz, any word on whether he might get the boot? Looks like he got 51.8% of the vote last time so will probably be stuck with him and his anti-games crusade...

Lib Dem Evan Harris could possible lose his seat to the tories, which would be really sad.
...do I sense a hint of sarcasm in that reply? My detector is faulty, sorry.

Either way, the really important vote taking place today is in Germany, not here. I don't even want to think about what might happen if they vote not to bail out Greece.

I hope my local MP David Lammy gets the boot, he was one of the guys behind the digital economy act so fuck him. I can see him losing to the lib dem candidate.

Personal hopes/brief look at final opinion polls/expectation that Labour tanks on election day.

Nope. I really like him and them having him as science spokesmen is one of the reasons why i voted lib Dem.

Does it look like it was rendered on an N64?

Wasn't far off :lol :lol

Oh god the pavement. :lol

Just voted Conservatives this evening. The Tory candidate is unlikely to win in my LDem constituency but at least I did my civic duty and contributed to the Conservatives' overall national vote share. :D

Oh why do I have to have an exam tomorrow? I feel alright about it but I'd rather enjoy election night and Friday off rather than a sense of impending dread.

Your participation in observing election night is going to be interesting for one night.

Your participation in your own exam is much more long ranged and important. Sucks though.

It is my third course, and it's one of those exams where you pick what questions you do. I think I've revised enough, so I'm gonna take the night low and see how it goes. Besides, I can study during the dull bits. :lol

The exam is at 2 so I'll get sleep in the morning no bother.
