A result of the voting system.

I know people who were so close to voting Lib Dem but just couldn't let the Tories in. Same old story. :(
Tick me up for that one. Just couldn't do it, as Tories and Labour last time there was 1.5% between them.......while Lib Dems back on 8 or 9% iirc.

My constituency is like the 12th Labour target.

You probably know more about the constituency then I do then, only been here half a year so I can't say I'm familiar with people's allegiances. It might be close, most of the crowd I met before I voted said they were going Tory but that probably counts for very little. Good luck to Rob anyway.

edit: Whoops, put South East instead of South West. Your cousin's probably safe then :D

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol I was thinking what? my cousin isnt called rob. yeah he should be safe.

Watching Decision Time on Sky News HD

edit:Keyser, I thought that. Pissed me off seeing DC in non-HD.

Also I love how they are the first HD general election programme in the uk, beat the BBC by 55 minutes.

Sent my postal vote away last week, +1 Lib Dems. Very unlikely they will win in my constituency, but I don't believe in tactical voting.

Dunno if its being shown elsewhere, but no Have I got News For You yet again this week in Scotland which has pissed me off. The move to Thursday seems to have done it no favours.

Welcome to Sky News HD... taste the difference...

Now be amazed as we show you old footage shot earlier today in 480p... :lol

Sky and BBC are probably teaming up for HD count declarations so it should be OK later on.

Hopefully they'll turn down the audience mics a bit.

I like how they plan to cut to the other channels - will this show have adverts?

Bloody hell, this Channel 4 coverage is atrocious. I was always going to switch over to the BBC at 10pm, but they better have at least some actual content before then.

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
The alternate coverage is already bloody amazing :lol
I got ales and cider ready, tonight is gonna be late, and awesome. I'm genuinely excited for this.

I think as this is basically a filler hour, it's all as scripted as it can be - hopefully when it actually kicks off they'll be a bit more natural, and a bit more funny.

They can't do much before 10 because of the broadcasting laws. They're just hoping people keep their TV on through the main "10pm buzz" and so started an hour early.

Why do you think BBC's coverage starts at 9:55? So at 10 they can release the figures straight away.

They're legally not allowed to until 10pm.

edit: That final countdown ad for The Times was awesome. :lol

Just back frmo voting voted Alliance since was the nearest to the lib dems we have in Northern Ireland even though he has no chance of winning in this constituency

Yeah to be fair it does seem quite scripted but like it's been said, this'll be filler. They can't script their reactions to the results.

I think Sky News has a bigger Videowall than the BBC.

/inferioritycomplex

it does look good, making up for the fact the beeb has a correspondent in every constituency whilst sky dont

wish i had two tvs next to each other, want to watch fiona bruce in HD and watch the sky graphics.

Also wow sunderland is sad, reducing the weight of the ballots to make them easier to count.

Anyway, I voted Labour. A nice man came to my door just before I voted and told me that Labour was slightly ahead of the Tories in my constituency, which persuaded me that doing so was worthwhile.

Nice men will be the death of this country I swear.

Sky News' white results things is nice and shiny... /geekout!!!

Also, they seem to have a thing about painting building loads of colours

Channel 4 should have started at twenty to 10 at the earliest, it isn't very interesting at the moment.

Also I really hope the ads get cut from 'every 15 mins' to 'every 30 mins' as night goes on.

If labor + lib dem hold more seats than conservatives, what does that mean in terms of effective governance?

It means the Conservatives would have a minority government and have to secure the votes of either Labour or the Lib Dems on anything they try to pass, usually by making concessions, deals, etc.

Strictly speaking Labour should be given the chance to form a government first, but it won't work that way.

Im so happy that all broadcasters arent allowed to make any judgements on the election between 7-10pm. We may have a screwed up electoral system but our system does get many things right.

ITV and Channel 4 are not even in the discussion for me, just checked the sky guide and did not see HD. That just aint good enough in this day and age.
