I only have read The Times recently(curse no longer being at uni and buying the times, the guardian, and the DT for 75p) and that is way Tory, i dont know how it stacks up against the other papers supporting the Tories. Every day seems to be a new story about what Dave should do.

FT is mostly free market and whatever is best for business really. It also has really good reporting in my opinion and by far the best world news section. (The reason I buy it) also the colour. FT haven't been overly biased towards anyone really, their comment and analysis pages tend to be balanced and much better than other ones I've read. (Times, Guardian, Telegraph) Independant has gone weird since the Russian took over, like they're just utterly indifferent.

I'm a Scouser and I'm watching it. Liverpool highlights will be on later anyway, football became much less interesting since...around October really. ;_;

The Times has always been the most centre-right of the papers, it's far less right wing than the telegraph or any of the tabloids. That being said, it has several prominent writers who were former Tory MPs or involved with the party in some way, which maybe why it seemed quite right wing to you.

Also Linkified, you actually do care about the gaming industry? and you're backing the Conservatives? Seriously you are backing the wrong horse.

The creative industry in general needs to keep getting support, and 'tax breaks' are not going to help it. I'm working/studying in design, have been for the last 10 years, and the industry is going to be irrelevant on the global scene within the next 10 years if there isn't massive investment put into it. We are being superseded by China, India, and East Asia when it comes to technical skill for every design discipline, the only asset that keeps the British creative sector going is that the World still views us as a country that produces eclectic designers and trend setters. The conservatives don't give a shit about business outside of the big retail sector and banks, you honestly believe Cameron and the top 50 execs from retail that Labour's going to strangle the life out off small business?

I honestly am shocked that someone who wants creative small industries to grow and strive is backing the tories, I've never met anyone in the creative field who does, you'll be in for a shocker in a few years time if they get in.

All 3 major parties have backed the principle of tax breaks for the UK games industry. This point, however is not in any of their manifestos. The market value of the games industry is just over £1billion in GDP, this contribution is a big plus factor of which any governement would and should protect and that it doesn't matter which government I chose to vote in or dabookerman choses to vote in we need to support the UK games devlopment with tax breaks.

Its just whether or not it will actually help with the cultural test that would have to occur.

I feel The Independent is... moderately Independent. It's my paper of choice though i haven't been regularly buying the paper in a while, i need to pick up again.
I read The Independent. They generally keep their opinions to the Opinion section, which - coincidentally - has really interesting articles, whether you agree with them or not.

Anybody actually read that Sun article? The entire basis for the claim that Clegg was "stealing Cameron's best lines" was one fucking bullet point saying "DC talks in the language of values - we should do this." What backward morons still buy into this drivel?

Sorry I meant in its support for the party, i know that the Mail and the others are more right wing but The Times is really coming out strong for the Tories. it seemed a lot more subtle last time around.

They had to reschedule the Motherwell v. Hibernian match. For some reason it was scheduled on election day.

Well people who buy The Sun are generally morons.

Chancellor's Debate back on The Daily Politics, BBC2 and Online.

Darling trying to take advantage of his position in the middle. Cable once again saying perfectly sensible things. Meanwhile in Toryland, we're apparently going to be on the phone to the IMF in 9 months.

Andrew Neil is a beast. Osbourne cant handle him.

I dont like it when some candidates dont wear the party colour on their ties. I cant tell who is who.:D

frankly, i think osborne is the most experienced i mean hey he WAS a former journalist.

With a History degree; not that there's much wrong with that particularly, just when you put it next to Cable's CV...yeah.

Ganged up on OZ
Ganged up on cable

Cant wait for Darling.

I want to see the three leaders come on the daily politics like this, much better then the debates.

The thing is, as you may have noticed by now. IF you let Cable talk, he always comes up with perfectly logical reasoning behind his decisions. He even managed to explain away an over-eager poster probably made by some guy he's only briefly met. I thought he was in trouble at first...then he just came right back, every time Neil and his girl threw a question he batted it back or fought it off well. The more he spoke (notice the others wern't able to interrupt) the more sense he made. In my (probably biased) opinion.

Osbourne has no fucking clue what he's doing. Even his stupid mate's letter only got him one shot which Cable batted back with a quote from the Inland Revenue.

Also; Clegg was on The World at One, listenable on iPlayer - Radio 4, took calls from about 25 mins in till the end.

Was awesome to hear him respond to a lengthy question with a one-word answer. :D

All three of their financial plans are similar, National Insurance is a flash in the pan; the whole thing about the Tories making cuts sooner than later will have a marginal effect; none of the parties will actually implement any real financial regulation because of difficulties of doing it on a global scale. The far more important question is where future growth is going to come from and how the economy is going to move away from financial services to something more sustainable. (Im not watching the debate but I will later)

Unsurprising to see this is your view on things. ;)

Hey i'm technically a swing voter. In the last european elections voted UKIP, in the last council elections voted lib dem, and I can't remember if there was a by-election and probably voted conservative for that.

You sound like more of a schizophrenic voter than a swing one.

this makes me curious. what was it and was the answer no?

It was a long rambling question that roughly said "Can you guarantee that if you're in government either as a majority party or as a member of a coalition government you'll push for immediate review of the state of care for the elderly?"

And the answer was yes.

Beaten. Debate was much more even between the chancellors this time, Darling really went for it, and Neil (seemingly making up for years of ignoring the Lib Dems) really went for Cable. It is honestly like the press are making up for lost time, digging up all they can about Clegg and the Lib Dems in these last two weeks before the election. I thought Cable was stong when he was allowed to speak without being barracked by Neil. Darling was also strong although I question his policies on the banking sector. Osbourne...seriously what is he doing? Even that secret weapon of a letter from one of his mates didn't do any damage. The guy just doesn't convince me he's got a clue what's going on, he's got as much experience and knowledge of the geopolitical economy as me, and I certainly wouldn't THINK about running the economy right now.

I would say they treated every party fairly but if you look on the bbc's website to compare their policies - its the same colour paint being called three different names.

At this stage the only difference seems:

Labour - centralization of politics
Lib dem - shared balance of power between local government all the away up to the federal state of EP
Conservative - return of direct democracy rather than representative democracy

I would like some form of constitutional reform where within 4 weeks of a general election, all opinion polls and form of media can't be brought used.

Big Society = Big load of bollocks

Regardless of whether the idea works out or not, it's nice to know that the conservatives have some sort of overriding aim or objective to complete if they get into power, rather that just hoping to achieve power for power's sake.

BNP are similar in that regard. Having an overarching aim doesn't necessarily make you better, if that aim is a load of crap.

Of course BNP are much more detestable than the Cons however. Though to me, this "Big Society" thing doesn't seem like like an admirable aim at all, it seems like it was invented for purely political PR reasons. It smells like it at least.

There are social problems in this country. Too many chavs, too much teenage pregnancy, and other generally irresponsible behaviour, and Labour aven't exactly done a good job with it, but the Cons haven't proposed anything worthwhile either.

We'll have to write a constitution first.
