What's lending got to do with this?!

I'm guessing we'll all get together for an Elections Night drinking game? We should start working on the GAF rules.
B-but healthcare reforms!Chinner said:obama isn't a socialist though, lol.
Gary Whitta said:Really? Huh, I didn't know what. Why? Not that I don't like Obama, I think he's great, just curious about why he's so popular in the UK.
you've become americanised thoughGary Whitta said:Clegg saying he'd join the Euro if the economic conditions were right sounds very woolly to me and if I lived in the UK that would make me nervous.
Best bit is that the missus is off being a stringer for Sky on the election, so she can't call me out for being sad for doing it.killer_clank said:OH GOD THIS
Obama is the US version of 1997 Tony Blair, in every respect. He resonates with exactly the same audiences in the UK, hits all the same right notes.Gary Whitta said:Really? Huh, I didn't know what. Yeah because the Euro is like the Amero amirite?Gary Whitta said:Clegg saying he'd join the Euro if the economic conditions were right sounds very woolly to me and if I lived in the UK that would make me nervous.
I'd prefer not to leave massively important and complicated economic decisions up to millions of people, the vast majority of whom understand almost nothing about the vast complexities of international economics and trade. We elect leaders to lead, not croudsource.Dark Machine said:You mean if the £ was in the shitter and the was flying it wouldn't make sense to join? or at least do what Clegg's actually advocating and have a national referendum.
Chriswok said:Good question.
Government did very little about stopping Business making people redundant and than outsourcing the same job. Total piss take they can do that. Likewise, we have Steelworks in Boro, Shipyard and Tank Factory in Newcastle.
Wales has quarrys.
Yet, none of that is used. England has a strange amount of natural resources for such a small country.

Have you never seen the photos of fruity students on the front pages of the Telegraph whenever exam results come out?Wes said:Why is he pleased to say the majority of students these days are women?
Yeah, I liked that point when he mentioned it in PMQs a long time ago and I still like it now.DECK'ARD said:Nice use of the Cadbury card!
Dark Machine said:That's globalisation, British workers wanted more wage than Chinese for example, and the transport costs were affordable until recently when green taxes were slapped all over the place. I don't think its good either (Liverpool lost all its Docks and investment because of it), but that's the way it works.
How so?Gary Whitta said:Clegg saying he'd join the Euro if the economic conditions were right sounds very woolly to me and if I lived in the UK that would make me nervous.
But Euros and Pounds are swings and roundabouts. The advantages of joining the Euro are just as big as the disadvantages, it's all preference. The Lib Dems would argue for a Yes vote on a referendum, but it would also be a good decision to stick with the pound, so they'll leave it up to the people.Gary Whitta said:I'd prefer not to leave massively important and complicated economic decisions up to millions of people, the vast majority of whom understand almost nothing about the vast complexities of international economics and trade. Yeah, I'd equally hate to lose the shilling.UnblessedSoul said:I'd hate to lose the pound, it's part of british history

Though on a small scale it doesn't make sense that meat is slaughtered in England, sent to Holland to be packaged, only to be sent back to the UK to be sold!
