I'm guessing we'll all get together for an Elections Night drinking game? We should start working on the GAF rules.

OH GOD THIS

Clegg saying he'd join the Euro if the economic conditions were right sounds very woolly to me and if I lived in the UK that would make me nervous.

Brown came out swinging in this debate, and he's not stopping, he's been really strong so far, Clegg in 2nd for me, Cameron has dropped to 3rd after the inheritance tax dodge and the banks debate.

Also SHEFFIELD AGAIN!

You fill up my senses!

Good question.

Government did very little about stopping Business making people redundant and than outsourcing the same job. Total piss take they can do that. Likewise, we have Steelworks in Boro, Shipyard and Tank Factory in Newcastle.

Wales has quarrys.

Yet, none of that is used. England has a strange amount of natural resources for such a small country.

Best bit is that the missus is off being a stringer for Sky on the election, so she can't call me out for being sad for doing it.

...yeah, it's so tempting to put their results number on Twitter and have people effectively bring their results down by too many phonecalls, but I've been told that's very naughty.

Really? Huh, I didn't know what. Why? Not that I don't like Obama, I think he's great, just curious about why he's so popular in the UK.
Obama is the US version of 1997 Tony Blair, in every respect. He resonates with exactly the same audiences in the UK, hits all the same right notes.

You mean if the £ was in the shitter and the € was flying it wouldn't make sense to join? or at least do what Clegg's actually advocating and have a national referendum.

Yeah because the Euro is like the Amero amirite?

I'd vote for anyone who'd pass through the law reform on Agency Workers so they had equal rights to permanent workers. Worst thing Labour ever did allowing Agencys to form.

I'd prefer not to leave massively important and complicated economic decisions up to millions of people, the vast majority of whom understand almost nothing about the vast complexities of international economics and trade. We elect leaders to lead, not croudsource.

That's globalisation, British workers wanted more wage than Chinese for example, and the transport costs were affordable until recently when green taxes were slapped all over the place. I don't think its good either (Liverpool lost all its Docks and investment because of it), but that's the way it works.

Boost apprenticeships, none of them now have jobs as no one needs a brick layer to build a house no one can afford. No one needs a welder as there's no steel being manufactured.

Get with the times, we are a tertiary nation, only manufacturing niches, nothing you do will change this

Micro-manufacture could be an option.

Nice use of the Cadbury card!
Yeah, I liked that point when he mentioned it in PMQs a long time ago and I still like it now.

Less than 5 minutes to go on the economy bit. Brown still seems to be in the lead for me, will be interesting to see if he keeps it up in territory he's less confident with.

I guess thats an issue.

Though on a small scale it doesn't make sense that meat is slaughtered in England, sent to Holland to be packaged, only to be sent back to the UK to be sold!

But Euros and Pounds are swings and roundabouts. The advantages of joining the Euro are just as big as the disadvantages, it's all preference. The Lib Dems would argue for a Yes vote on a referendum, but it would also be a good decision to stick with the pound, so they'll leave it up to the people.

Thing of it as a focus group, politicians tend not to offer referendas on issues if they are going to lose.

Real Reason for Wind Farms?

Stop impending Viking Attacks - David Cameron
To blow away future Volcanic Dust - Gordon Brown
To keep those fucking foreigners away - BNP Twat
To propel the UK across the Atlantic to become a member state of the US - Nick Clegg

We interrupt this broadcast to inform you that Scottish and Welsh parties do, in fact, exist. They failed their appeal, but I'll be Dimbleby and mention them anyway.

Now that IS a complete waste. Efficiency should be a prime point in all business. Ask the meat packing company on that one man.
