Chris G's troll Ammy/Morrigan/Phoenix team makes me want to re-explore Azure Tech 1.0 of Dante/Phoenix/Morrigan. What the fuck Marvel, can 2 days go by without me desiring to make a new team up or try something different? :lol

I've never liked X/Morrigan/Phoenix. You're basically saying that you don't need to use assists, and you're using 2 characters who are very meter dependent. Then again, that Morrigan TAC stuff might make it worth risking.

I do like Morrigan/X/Phoenix though. If you put someone in that 2nd spot that has a good assist and can help you get some Soul Drain combos, you're in business.

Morrigan/Doom/Phoenix is pretty good. You get the TAC trick into a long-ass doom combo, on top of solid runaway and meter building. Once you do the TAC, then just runaway with doom and call Morrigan.

Good post, I agree. Something to keep in mind though, I'll definitely go on the record and say that I pretty much wing it when it comes to team composition with a few exceptions (and thus any suggestions I make or setups I list are more for building on than definite statements) so breaking things like this is very enlightening for me.

You know what? Since the only reason I play Dante is that he reminds me of Jedah and has fancy cancels, maybe I'll go ahead and try out Morrigan/Doom/Phoenix.

God damn, I love this game. My team has a weakness- Dante can only DHC to sphere flame for proper damage in the corner. Solution- make my Dante bnb one which ends in the corner regardless of where on screen the combo begins.

think i'm going to try going to evo with my cousin. he wants to go to vegas for the first time and go to casinos and watch the shows and i figure i have him drop me off at wherever evo is at and he takes my car. we would also share a hotel room to save money. this is probably the only way i get to go. gonna try and make sure he wants to go as i don't want to pay my way into evo and then find out he doesn't want to go.

Hsien Ko in Project X over Morrigan? What has the world come to? Vergil needs to be in the game as the 2nd DMC character for sure.

Saw the Sven stream, he doesn't de-confirm the possibility of a balance patch/new costumes just no new characters/major update. Sort of a bummer but eh...

I didn't think you guys wanted another Marvel any time soon? 50 characters, the updated game is barely half a year old, I thought it'd be best to just let it ride out for a few years as it is.

Dark Wesker is already getting exposed on a daily level. Dark Dante, Vergil, Skrull, etc are much more scary.

I for one am looking forward to our new dread lord, robot midgets wielding lightsabers, milf, lord of magnetism, sparda brothers overlords.

As for Marvel, the only expansions anyone could really want are characters and the stuff they put exclusively into the Vita version for console parity.

Dark Strider is still my personal favorite 'pure bullshit' anchor. I think 25% of my wins against Biz have been with Dark Strider, honestly.

As a PC gamer your language confuses me. A character balance update + new characters isn't a new game, just an update.

It's pretty heartbreaking to hear that there won't be another update of that kind in the works because I was looking forward to how poorly they could buff hsien-ko with another crack at it.

When a game replaces everything you've worked on thus far, it's a new game. Otherwise, I consider it an update. I want updates, not new games.

I don't know, I've pulled some really BS wins off with Dark Vergil... One slip and they have to play a 50/50 guessing game about 3 times in a split second for the incoming characters survival D: I guess the same goes for Strider though, eh?

Dark Wesker is always going to be good, but I have always preferred Wesker on point.

Look at how many Dark Wesker's get body out of the pool. A character who as anchor depends on the opponent to make a mistake and once people start playing really cheap his effectiveness drops.

Oh shit, how could I forget my boy? Thing about Dark Strider though is as much as it becomes an almost unfair "Which Way Do I Block" mode for opponents coming in, there's a certain flow and finesse that just feels right about XF3 comebacks with him. :lol

Dark Vergil however is straight up soul crushing. :lol

"Oh, did you think push blocks meant anything?" - Staggered strings around the time one has to press H or S into launch/Upper Slash cancel for full combo

"You don't have teleports/multi-directional dashes/Flight? Poor you." - Round trips for daaaaays.

"Watch ur feet son." - Cr. H is so fucking abusable and one of the greatest buttons in this game period. Shit is like some serious Marth neutral air in Melee levels of good.

"I have a meter?" - Devil Trigger on and now we have a character that consumes 80% of the screen at any given moment, has the best foward/backward air dash in the game, can cancel any whiffed moves into a safe wall of fuck you in Judgement Cuts, gets Berderper Charge levels of fast and Shadeless Wesker levels of damage buffs.

"I have two meters? :D" - Same as above but now he gets access to the Marvel equivalent of a Starman from SMB. Approach wrong and die for standing in front of him.

"Three meters?" - both of the above + access to Seven Light Rod Prison, Byakuya Kuchiki style. Fuck yo' comebacks son!

And it just keeps going on and on. Let's not even get into X factor. Some of my finest anchor comebacks was just from raw Vergil with a stockpile of meter from MorriDoom stuff.

Why exactly isn't there a Vergil meme yet?

Yeah there is definitely a defined list of characters in this game that become godlike in XF3, and ones that don't. Chun Li is terrible at this game, but turn on x-factor level 3 and hang on to your butts. On the flipside, it won't suddenly turn Frank West or Haggar into an unstoppable force.

Ammy flipped from can't to can from MvC3 to UMvC3, thanks to the crazy speed boost she gets now.

Eh people still make mistakes though especially in high pressure situations when it comes to tournaments. I think rumors of Weskers demisre are greatly exagerated.



Also PR Rog claimed his new team was Wesker/Jill/Racoon he might debut that at Seasons Beatings next week.
