Knives showing people how to handle the Vergil match up with Spencer and some what with Akuma. Punishing raw whiffed moves, Up Grappling Helm Breakers, Zip lining into to punish moves from afar, Bionic Arm/Shoryuken hyper through Spiral Swords gap/gaps in strings, pressuring him in the corner and baiting Helm Breaker for the kill and other good stuff. He just needs to chicken guard against Helm Breaker more often.

So Unscaled Wire Grapple is a feature for Spencer and a glitch for Spider Man?
No. Not everything that is changed is a glitch. Spider-man's change was a nerf.

Okay this is cool. I still think having a Marvel PS3 chat room would be the best though. That way we can see who's on while we play. Man this thread moves pretty fast for being in the community section. Everyday there is a page or two of new posts. How do you guys post so often lol.
We have a Marvel PS3 chat room. I'll invite you next time we play.

We have one but no one really uses it until we actually do play each other.

Lol there's a lurker who added their name to the list. God speed House of Paincakes.
Haha, I thought about whether I should keep him on, but decided to let it fly.

I always felt like Taskmaster's airthrow range was better than Wesker's, but I could be wrong. I've been scooped by a lot of characters while the animation was almost touching the ground.
I don't think Taskmaser has an amazing throw range, it's just that everything he normally does is an option select.

Does anyone have any She-Hulk tips. I'm just starting to learn her.
Be patient, and learn to love her anti-air command grab hyper.

If you want me to evaluate some matches, I'd be glad to play against you. I'm not saying I'm great at the game or anything, but it often helps to have someone else look at what's going on.

I know dahbomb and i were talking about Justins Spencer team in the CEO thread specifically the Akuma vs Frank decicion thought hed like to read this

CGAJ: What about Akuma? If we’re talking about strong anchors, you’ve been famous for making multiple comebacks with Akuma. His tatsu assist is still really good even after the nerf, so why pick Frank over him?

JWong: Akuma is overall a better character compared to Frank. There’s a distinct difference though, in their durability. Akuma is really flimsy as an anchor, and one combo usually means his death. In that regard, Frank is the better option because you can take more risks with his higher durability. Due to Frank’s one million health, that means my opponent would need a combo that nets him a million damage to kill him in one combo.

In terms of Frank’s assist, I’ve taken some pretty good trades. Although Frank’s assist lasts a long time, and scales my damage down quite a bit, the fact that it keeps my opponent grounded opens my game up for more mixups

This would be helpful (though i think my problems are pretty dramatic lol) are you on psn or xbl?

I realized that the fact that he picks Frank over Akuma assist is because Shopping Cart keeps the opponent locked in place on the ground standing on hit like Unibeam assist does and also because it locks down for a bit longer and does more chip which he likes abusing with Vergil + Spiral Sword.

However his choice of Frank over Akuma anchor in terms of life is quite insane though. Akuma is a way superior anchor to Frank in most cases (in most cases I mean that most of the time Frank is going to be LVL1 coming in). I think he forgot to mention that the health difference matters when they are coming out as an assist and thus why Akuma/Strider/RR/Ammy are all in the lowest health category in the game.

IMO for the reasons he lists Frank over Akuma he might as well pick Iron Man. Better overall footsies, mobility and a full screen beam with similar properties to Frank's Shopping Cart assist.

So for any Vergil players it probably isn't new because I think I've seen pre-release videos but, Vergil can do the Spiral Swords loop with Starfall(J.S) instead of Helm Breaker. You get less damage than Helm Breaker but I've found the timing more consistent when not in the corner.

Hahaha, what? Iron Man can't even attack-cancel his dashes, let alone play footsies.

Maybe it has to do with how late the lariat hits the opponent, or how high the opponent is? If you hit them later in the lariat, you'd recover faster than they do.

I am dead serious. If what Justin wanted in an anchor/assist character was:

*Semi-lockdown across a horizontal plane
*Keeps opponent in standing position on hit or locks them in place
*Great for a teleporter character or for a rushdown character making his way in
*Good health so he can take a few hits as an assist or as anchor
*Does solid chip damage

Of course Frank comes out faster than Unibeam and is well protected in the front but I am just comparing stuff that he specifically talked about. Unibeam really amplifies both Spencer's and Vergil's game, it's not really a shocking truth or something.

He's entirely a footsie character or more specifically an aerial defensive footsie character. You don't need to dash around on the ground to play footsies in Marvel, he plays footsies by super jump up and then air dash down with a j.H usually d+H or even j.S. He has Repulsor Blast against other air dashers and even Teleporters, plus his great anti-air jab, st.H and his cr.M out ranges even sword normal characters in terms of ground sweep ranges. All of his air normals can compete with the best characters in terms of range meaning he is hard to beat in terms of aerial footsies, all of which he can convert to solid damage. This is why he is considered a mid screen specialist because of his long ranged normals. A lot of people refer to him as the Vega of the game.

yeah that's what i've been thinking. i don't usually let people land when i do hit them as i hit them with rapid fire fist and in training mode i try and otg when i hit them early into lariat. i thought i didn't make that post too as i was going to test it out in training mode. lol

He's an awful anchor though. At least Frank can level up and turn into a good character.

I'm afraid of XF3 IM as much as I am a boxer who had their arms amputated.

Frank West leveling up by himself requires that he gets a hit on someone. If your team gets ransacked and Frank West comes in with LVL1.... I fail to see how he would fair better than IM.

For all the crap people give IM, he isn't a god awful anchor. He can convert character kills off of throws, gets reasonably faster in X Factor and has legit corner mix ups. Plus he can maintain a life lead just like Doom can.

Well if Frank gets a hit he levels up to at least level 2 which gives him the roll which could help in XF3. So still, Frank has the potential to become a better character than IM. And if your anchor char gets hit it doesn't matter if it's IM or Frank because it's probably a dead char.

Frank also has pretty damn good air to air normals, and zombie pressure, and he can do some pretty easy and solid damage off of a throw too. And yes, the roll helps him a lot, and Level 3 giving him the anti air super is pretty nice too.

IMO, you should finish your combos when you make these!

Yeah, I'm actually seriously considering doing this one over or with a side video showing a finished combo. I hated that on the replay I got the corner Stinger and really wanted to do something with a Sky Dance there in retrospect.

Watching FGTV; it's funny to see people actively attempt to tier whore and ride on that bandwagon, especially since the higher tier players that we generally see at majors (and subsequently to be see at EVO) generally have more personal and varied teams.

jk Azurebro I love you man

:lol :lol :lol

I'll be 100% honest though, the midscreen Stinger - BC Teleport after a juggle with sS - Clay Pigeon is the bane of my existence. Sucks too because that's like mandatory stuff for playing Dante.

I think you have to delay the Clay Pigeon after the s.S, and if it makes you feel better I can't do shot loops.

Wow, man. I remember back when you were saying you were a total newbie to this game, and now it looks like you've got some real solid execution! You're my role model now, haha.

Thanks for that. :)

I gotta say though, this execution issue I'm having with being able to do more SRK motions going forward than I can going back (from P2 side) is really worrying to me. Can anyone else relate to that issue?

Protip on beating my Morrigan: try to put me on your right side. I can't so Soul Fist fly-cancel spam on that side for some reason. :-/ It's just a reverse motion of the other side, I DONT GET IT.

Reminds me of like month 2 Marvel for me. I start to learn the Volcano OTG stuff but couldn't do Volcanoes going to the left so I Cold Shower'd everything in that direction. :lol

For real though, this is something I need to fix and soon. I just hate when I go into training mode to grind out stuff like this though. It's like I get the most serious case of ADHD and have to do everything else but what matters. :lol

You are tallking to the guy that messes up matches because he gets Spitfire instead of bear trap because P2 side >.>

I used to have 1p side/2p side execution problems, but I fixed it by alternating constantly in training mode. Wall carry to one side, throw them out of the corner, wall carry back.
