Also Karst, after watching you play TWILT. it looks like Chris must be a horrid matchup for ghost rider to deal with.

Kevo you don't suck. Hell for the most part you were nailing your combo's consistently and doing the things I think your characters should be doing. I don't know maybe Karsticles could offer more constructive criticism. I felt my Wright does fairly well against Spencer so I wasn't too terrified at start. If I don't feel terrified at the start of the match I am generally feel good about the match up. The only thing I knew was that Hulk should never go up against Spencer. Wire grapple beats everything Hulk has except Gamma Crush and those lead to full combos. The only time Hulk can get a hit on him is if you whiff a wire grapple or I get a lucky air throw.

ggs slasher. thanks for the kind words. do you think maybe my characters limit what i can do? i think i only control horizontal space and i dont really have any unblockable or 50/50 setups or anything tricky. i do get kind of on autopilot and just call task arrows and zip forward, and i really cannot block. man, your PW is freaking scary. i was super excited to land wire grapples on hulk haha. not a bad connection since i was able to land my spencer combos.

ggs to everyone in the lobby. karst, we should just play alt team vs alt team. that is much more enjoyable than playing my main team vs yours lol (also, sorry for the crap connection).

had some good battles with twilt, too. you just completely go ham lol.

good sessions like these make me want to put in more time into this game

Because of family reasons I couldn't get my required amount of offline Marvel today, so who wants to play on XBL? We could even make a lobby if you guys want to.

I'd say the matchup is roughly even, but if Chris gets a hit in it's over. It's a slow and cautious match. In general, Ghost Rider is a crappy character, but some matchups make him feel it more than others. TWILT's connection with me makes it all the more frustrating, because I can't even string two Purifications together with Dormammu against him. I picked Ghost Rider because he's less frustrating to play on bad connections.

I don't think it matters anyway on the account you were beating me left and right.
What was it, 29 wins in a row?
I'd like to finish my losing streak of 30 when the system reboots...

Yeah I gave up once you started picking your OP team

Hawkeye isn't your cup of tea neither is Dante so I better start learning them asap

My team is fair and balanced! :p

And I gave you a list of characters that wreck Hawkeye. If you want to win, pick TWILT's team. Dante/Vergil/Strider is a team of 3 characters that counter Dormammu and Morrigan, and 2 that counter Phoenix.

I'll hop on for training mode; if you want to play a few, I'm game.

Sweet, finally figured out the stupid timing for the Nova crumple from a Spencer assist. Now to practice FoF loops more. I seem to be more consistent with it on the left side...easier to do the Magnetic Blast motion. Right side I can sometimes get j.H instead of Impact Palm making the opponent fall out...it'll take more practice.

I don't remember matches chronologically, but if there's something you want me to comment on, I'm glad to. If you just mean the Trish/Dante/Phoenix team, I don't think it's very good. I do think Trish/Dante is an excellent pairing, though. Jam Session is one of Dormammu's weaknesses, though, so I'm strongly biased in that judgment.

You thought so? I thought it was the other way around. It's my first time facing a Nova/Spencer/Strange, and it was hard as hell to do anything with Dormammu. That start of the round was mega stressful. It took me a while to get used to the timing on waiting for bolts to pass before coming back down from my superjumps. I was really proud of myself for surviving so many of your snap-ins, because goddamn Nova's pressure is terrifying. That last time you got me in a grab I was even making c.L because I knew it was coming, but you timed it so perfectly that my move never came out. That was the most I've had to play Phoenix in a match since I started using the team.

The Dr. Strange vs. Phoenix tango is an interesting one. 1v1, it's a clear win for Dark Phoenix, but if I've burned X-Factor then it's to your advantage. It reminds me a lot of the Arthur matchup for her.

I wish I could find good synergy between Morrigan and Phoenix for combo damage, because it really hurts my team that after Dormammu dies I have no good damage source. A few times you tried to run away from Morrigan to time me out and it just made me sad to think she's so non-threatening. :-(

It's funny that Energy Javelin doesn't reach the very top corner of the screen. I'm...so very grateful for that, haha. Morrigan wouldn't stand a chance if it did. I need to master her Soul Fist combos pronto, but I'm so bad at doing them. I actually pulled one off on you but the second Soul Fist pushed you too far away for the launcher for some reason - a first, for sure.

Your connection receives an "A" grade from me.

Edit: Oh yeah, peak of our matches was when I dodged Spell of Vishanti with Dormammu's teleport. I've never had that happen before. I think I died right after, but it felt cool.

Yeah there's not a lot of meter left for Phoenix between them and her. I'm looking through the bible to see if there's other options that include Phoenix but would you suggest the DMC team as an alt? Or should I go with TWILT's team?

Go with whatever team you like. I'm not big on counterpicking. I like to try and master my team to a level where I can stand a chance against anything. If I can't win against a combination, that's my hint that the team is just not that good.

I think the DMC team is really good, though. A guy on my friends list plays the most wicked Trish I've ever seen backed by Dante and Vergil. If you plan on running the counterpick, at the very least it seems logical to run Trish/Dante/Vergil for now so you have at least one familiar character to help you through the learning phase.

And no I'm not going to dig through SRK's UMVC3 section for it. Oh and what is Storm's best solo BnB?

Man, I am so glad I learned how to plink dash. I wouldn't get anywhere if I still had to rely on standard backwards wave dashing. Feels clunky as hell. :lol

Haha yea I love how you can just get that crouch L out with characters like Wesker. So useful I see Yipes getting people with counter hit crouch L on random dashes all the time.

I was playing a ranked game against someone using team Marlinpie (Viper/Doom/Ammy) and I was getting my ass kicked. After basically perfecting Tron and Skrull, this person did a triple team combo shortly after Arthur dropped in. X-Factor, For the Princess, jump S. over and over again for added damage and BAM, I took out his entire team at once. So satisfying :D

Merry Christmases are the best thing ever. One of my favorites was losing everyone but Viper and making a full comeback with the stupidest use of EX Seismo ever. :lol

Yeah that's such a time sink. The reason I'm hesitant on platinuming this isn't because of that but because of the trial mode. All the other trophies don't take that much effort just a lot of time (make it to 5th lord, view all of the endings, etc.)

The trials I'm not sure I can do especially since there's not as much leeway with the required amount. In vanilla there were a total of 380 trials but you only needed to complete 320. Here there's a total of 500 and you need to do 480.
