Out of curiosity, did anybody here go to Chargercon in UAHuntsville last year? They had a UMVC3 tournament and I was wondering if I'd see anybody there this year.

I've never been to any kind of event before, but it looks like most of the people there were about on the same level as my friends. I think I could take them if I got back in to the swing of things.

Strider combos. Damage isn't too bad considering they don't take much effort to perform, unlike the normal Gram loops. Midscreen only atm, but I haven't really tried finding a way to get them to work in the corner. Haven't tried fullscreen, either. Sure there's a variant, though.

You're going to have to detail how that Gram L - Form B Shot - s.H - Gram L sequence works since I'm having a lazy mind day here.

I don't understand how Thor is negating that advance guard. Those are guard break set ups he is doing. That would mean that if you advance guarded Thor on incoming it's a free guard break for him.

Basically, after the Gram L > Form B Shot, just dash up and cancel the dash with Formation B, then s.H into Gram L. It's pretty easy. If you're doing the second variant where you're farther from the corner, it's a bit more tricky. You have to dash up, Form B, dash up f.H, Gram L, wait until they almost hit the floor, Form B shot.

@SolarKnight: Your Strider really became something of a menace since the last time we played (when you first started experimenting with him). You have a pretty cool Zero but you should definitely be trying to (gulp) be more obnoxious with him. Try calling Strider assist then doing Lightning M or H (anti-air) canceled into Buster into buffered Hienkyaku L to catch people aiming to meet Zero air to air (my preferred approach when dealing with him just because a j.H can lead to a full Dante combo, I have stair cases down with Viper and j.H also leads to an OK confirm with Strider). Nova is derp, I can't critique or even understand how he gets the hits he does, but you must be doing something right if I got opened up with as many lows as I did.

I can rarely do lightning at all in lag for some reason. I'll keep that in mind though. As for Nova...it's that grown ass man magic, I don't really understand how I get that many hits either XD

It looks to me like he's using Mighty Strike to negate the projectile from Dark Phoenix Rising, XFCing before the Mighty Strike actually hits, and 1F command throwing her.

I noticed Infrit tends to do H fly MH mid-screen a lot, so I've x-copied that. I think it strikes a balance between damage, ease of use, and keeping scaling low.

I think Mighty Strike has armor, so it absorbs the transformation burst. Kinda like people using the armor in She-Hulk's clothesline move into her anti-air hyper.

EDIT - oh I see what you mean. I don't think Mighty Strike is actually hitting there.

The one previously stated is what I've seen most top Nova players do. Whether there's a better option, I don't know. I see people do the j.H fly MH rocket punch M (wallbounce) into S, but teams with Spencer shouldn't use that because they need the wallbounce to continue the combo post-DHC.

Dashing correctly negates pushblock. Because he landed and recovered before the pushblock, he could dash to keep his position. Try it with Ryu. Throw a fireball at fullscreen and have the dummy pushblock. Dash at the same time and you still move forward.

It's also why some Magnetos do dash 2L after a tridash when they're at point blank anyway.

I bum a ride from a friend, otherwise I force myself to walk and take breathers.

I have a really high level of pain tolerance.

It normally doesn't come to that though lot's of friends I've known since childhood help me get things done and I'm really greatful to have them :D

My friend I've known since middle school has been pushing me to get the doctor stuff taken care of and get me back in school and just be more active in general.

Does it actually hurt to walk, or is it just difficult? You might not have the frame of reference to answer this question, but what I'm imagining that this is the case: if I haven't worked out in a while and go jogging, the next day my muscles are sore because they aren't used to the level of activity I subjected them to. If you walk, your muscles quickly become sore because they aren't able to bear the level of activity you subject them to.

What are your options if you go to a doctor?

It hurts not because of muscles but because of my spinal colum bending in ways not ment to bend :p

My options when I go to a doctor well I'll have to find out soon, I can get spinal correction surgery though same for my shoulders. That would come later on though, the doctor stuff now will probably just hook me up with a wheelchair and some braces as well as pain killers and anything they feel I need.

There are actually specialist for my condition in the cities around where I live I just havent been to a doctor in 10 years due to well not having medical information and other things. I finally got that all taken care of in december
